I try to playtest my game extensively but inevitably there are things I overlook. Also please let me know if you run into  any writing that is awkward, confusing or just plain bad!

Issues I'm currently Investigating/ Working On (UPDATED 5/11/23)

  • Naming Inconsistancy ex. firemage vs Fire Mage - thanks randomdooodle
  • Double bonus- Add more clarity in display of information
  • Investigate Possibly Bugs with Lor's affinity skill and Morale Skill
(+1)

I'm not sure if this counts as a bug/oversight but is it intentional for units like Fire Mage to sometimes be referred to as firemage? I'm referring to inconsistent capitalization and spacing. It only struck me as aesthetically a little off when I caught it after battling or when I went to talk with the units at the hut.

I'm only a little ways in (around the Forest Maze) but I've really enjoyed it so far! It gave me a lot of early GBA Fire Emblem vibes with the character interactions and when I had the option to talk with the units in the hut I felt a wave of nostalgia. Also when exploring it reminded me of when I first played Etrian Odyssey on the DS, and brought back a lot of good memories.  I've played a fair share of VNs and some of those hero collecting games, and I honestly think you've done an amazing job pulling out some of the best parts of both with this. The art, sound effects, and music also all fit together really well and its impressive how much work you've put into this!

I came across your page while looking for some inspiration in trying out Ren'Py on Youtube, and found your videos to be not only well thought out and educational but also honest about the pros/cons of solo development. Just wanted to say thanks for putting all your content out on Youtube (I know that also takes quite a bit of work!) and with your games themselves here! I look forward checking out more of your games and hope you'll continue making things you enjoy!

Developer(+1)

Hi Randomdoodle,

Gosh thank you so much for taking the time to try out my game and write your thoughts here. It really made my day. This type of comment really means so much to me! I have a soft spot for the earlier Fire Emblem games, as they really did stand out to me as my favorite tactical RPGs of that era and I've played Etrian Odyssey as well, since that style of dungeon crawler is a rare find and hard sell (an hommage to the wizardry games imo which I also love... I must be a glutton for punishment because all those games can have brutal RNG haha).

In response to your observation about the naming inconsistancy... Thank you for mentioning this as it reminds me that I shouldn't keep ignoring this problem, lol. This is largely caused by messy use of object classes when I sometimes refer to  an object name,  unit.name "Fire Mage" or the object itself,   firemage = Unit() and I need to find a way to make a function to refer to the randomized object's property rather than just the randomized object itself. This would make so much of my code more streamlined but I haven't found it yet. I will continue to try to find the answer to this and see what I can do to fix the visibility on the user's end.

Also thank you for watching my youtube videos and I am glad that you found them useful. Gamedev as any artistic journey can definitely be a long one but it shouldn't be a lonely or grueling one. I wasted a good decade or two of my life thinking it needed to be but it's really okay to make art for the joy of it. The 5 year old me had something going on, and it took watching my own son grow to remember the part of me that was lost and beaten down. As corny as it sounds, we are all human and this kind of human connection is what really makes art worth doing imo, so again I thank you your words and best wishes on your journey, I hope you also enjoy it.

Hi, I've been enjoying the game a lot, I just wanted to thank you for making this game. So onto the bug, while I was in the sewers for the beasts, I kept trying to ascend to the city so I can raise my bond levels with the characters but I kept running into a error screen where it wont let me proceed, ignoring it just sends me back to my spot. I tried the second ascend spot but it didn't work either. even after defeating the hydra. In the log it says "NameError: name 'hyrda_battle' is not defined".

Developer

Hi Xzrono! Thank you so much for trying out this game and reporting this bug. Thankfully I believe it is just a typo in the condition check, you should have flagged the event correctly after defeating the hydra and should be able to resume your save file and exit the sewers with version 1.41. Please let me know if the problem persists or if any other problems arise!

(+1)

Thank you for fixing it so fast its working now for me, now time to grind out their bond levels and give them all eternal pendants cause I'm shameless like that. Thanks again.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for letting me know it worked for you. This might sound like an odd request, but no one I know has made it far enough to unlock their romance/friend routes yet lol. I'd appreciate any feedback you'd be willing to offer <3.

(1 edit) (+1)

I'd love to give u feed back is it okay if I just post it in here by re editing this reply. I found some more bugs after chapter 4 while I was going to grind bond levels, I noticed Beisel, Water rouge, Lor  wasn't in the deploy menu, but they were still there in the guild section, also when I went into the merchant guild it gave me the option to start the war again, when I went into the forest and wandered around it triggered the event where I ask Katnir to let me join him on patrol, if I go back into town he asks for 1000 gold again. If I recall correctly there is a typo in Lor's romance event (I kind of accidently saved over my save file so I can't go back to check x.x).

Developer

Ah you are super awesome! I believe they should be fixed in version 1.42. The Katnir Quest bug unfortunately will have to be finished in order for it to be registered as fully complete, but I don't think it will effect the game if you already have Katnir recruited. Thank you again for finding these bugs and let me know if you have any other issues, as I can't completely replicate what you have experienced.

(1 edit) (+1)

Im going to put my thoughts about how i felt on the romance/friendship paths here if thats okay, if not i can delete this.

First things first. I loved seeing them in their casual outfits, (Seeing ruwin GOODLORD). Okay now onto how i felt onto their specific paths.

Ruwin: I don't have any complaints about his romance path, honestly seeing him act not like his usual self was nice, i especially love how the other characters interact with each other compared to their lord lol.

Katnir: I was the most shocked with his romance route, seeing him freak out and ask if we were serious, to me it seem really out of character when he was so usually calm, it was little jarring for me but i thought it was funny.

Lor: I found him so cute when he brought us to the first area, how he gushed about how he felt. I also found his past interesting, I'm also wondering if were going to meet anyone connected his past later on.

Samuel:It was comfy vibes all around, and when I chose the gummy that represented him, the response was very SO cute gah my heart.

Beisel: Honestly the only one in the group that gave us me a normal date lol so she's gets plus points xD. I know we had to talk about the other Li's problems before we did anything more than that, I'm excited to see how they change and our relationships change with them.

Beileph: Gosh this man such a mess lol, i can understand why his sister talks him about like that, I can't wait to see him melt from the LORDS LOVE or friendship.

I loved that we started the relationship slowly, with handshakes and we had choice to not do so if we wanted to (I CANT WAIT TO SEE THEIR FACES WHEN WE KISS). It would also be nice if we could somehow see the scenes again, like a option in the church or something for people like me who have shat memory. Take my opinion with a giant spoon of salt as I am very biased (cough ruwin). GOOD LUCK ON UR OTOME JAM

Idk if this is a bug or not or if im just dumb probably that, for the choice of whether to convince Beileph, i went to the area where he was and got the event scene with him, then after i went back i kept getting repeat scene where he was busy, i had literally no idea what to do next lol, i thought maybe going to sewers and fighting beasts would make him interested in me lol, i also went to the merchant guild but no avail, and the church room thingy wasn't there, so i thought i might be soft locked, so I loaded another saved and switched to Beisel route.

Developer(+1)

Oh gosh! Thank you so much for your feedback~ It bring me so much joy to know someone has made it that far, lol. And I'm glad you are liking Ruwin, ( ah, he really doesn't give a crap about anyone's opinion but the protagonist and I'm glad you picked up on that.) Earth types (like Katnir and Beileph) tend to take longer to open up. Katnir likes to play it cool, but he's hasn't faced his past traumas yet, so he's probably one of the messiest of these romances at the end of the day.  About Beileph's route being possibly glitched,  I wonder if you got to the dialogue where you meet Beileph at the bestiary and he's dressed casually. After walking you out, he realizes that that he should of spent time getting to know you better and asks for another chance. If so then that is currently the end of his romance route atm (just the idea of other people existing is a big step for a socially inept, work-obsessed nerd like him, haha).  If you didn't see this, I'm wondering if you might be able to recall what happened in the event you mentioned? I'm thinking about your suggestion for 'saving' your bond scenes in the future. Perhaps I should investigate how to make a gallery collection style option at the main menu. I don't really mind people replaying the scenes to see what other dialogue is available as well.

For the beileph thingy, i didn't mean his romance/friendship event, I meant the three choices u get to pick in the church room for which sibling u convice to help u before the war thingy, sorry about the misunderstanding.

Developer(+1)

Ahh! Thank you so much for clarifying! I was able to find it. Apparently it was missing a bunch of stuff that was supposed to link the two options together and so it was just a dead end >_< It should flag properly now, for anyone who is stuck in that spot if they revisit the bestiary and try to talk to Beileph again.

Potential bugs in calculating Lor's Affinity bonuses and the command skill Boost Morale.

I will confess right away math is not my strong suit. I realize the combat calculations consist of simple addition and subtraction calculations with mulitipliers for bonuses, thus, it isn't that complex. So I think I'm correct in my following report, though I could be misunderstanding and/or miscalculating.

I think the game is not adding Lor's affinity bonuses to the combat rolls. As an example, if he's adding a total of +8 to the Water Knight's roll, when the knight rolls an 8, it's apparent Lor's affinity is not being added to Water Knight's roll since rolling zero is not possible. I've seen this many times where the bonus number given by Lor (ex: 1 + 1 + 2 = +4) is the die number rolled (4) for the Water Knight. He isn't getting Lor's bonus. Another thing to note is when the Water Knight is supposed to receive Lor's affinity bonus, he cannot roll a number under Lor's bonus. So if Lor's affinity is adding +5, the Water Knight will roll no less than 5. Also of note, Lor is not buffing himself either.

Boost morale doesn't seem to be tabulated into the final calculations even though it does show in the combat calculations line. It simply isn't counted. For example:

in a line-u p with Lor & Samuel & Katnir

base rolls: 8 + 6 + 3

with element bonus of -2 and faction bonus of 2

and boost morale + 10

8+ 6 + 3 +2 -2 +10 = 17. It should be 27.

Thanks!

p.s. even though I don't like grinding type of games in general, I like this game. The amount of detail and attention you put into ambient conversations and descriptions and into thinking about the setting and how the elemental affinities and the roles (rogue, mage, priest, knight) have on personality and outlook is quite apparent. It's wonderful to play a game made so obviously with love from the creator with enough hooks of things I enjoy to keep me happily playing along. I especially enjoy the interactions with the characters and am looking forward to get into those romances and friendships! Thanks for this fun game!

Developer

Hi Frumiousfeminist,

Thank you so much for trying out my game and pointing out these issues. It may take me awhile to test your findings,( as I'm currently going hard for OtomeJam)  but I will definitely investigate and want to make combat information have more clarity in general.  Also I am really glad that you are able to enjoy the game despite the grind.  I am personally a huge fan of side banter in games, (The type of stuff that isn't necessary to the main objectives but feels like the characters 'live' there?) so a lot of the player choice dialogue reveals different pointless tidbits depending on how the companions react, but doesn't require me to write completely different main quest paths. Oh yes and let me know if it at any point becomes too grindy, as I am definitely open to making adjustments.

(+1)

Greetings coffee!

thank you for your swift reply! Playing your game is my pleasure and I greatly appreciate that you are making this otome and are so gracious as to post it gratis. Games take a massive amount of effort to make, and yours has the sprite animations (which I find adorable and are one of the features I greatly enjoy while playing) which make it even more work. So honestly, the thanks go to you!

I think it's great you're participating in the otome game jam and I wish you smooth sailing! The investigation into the potential combat bugs can easily wait until you have time to poke around and see if I failed another perception roll as I botched noticing the elite bond levels increasing at a slower rate than those of the common units.

I do want to report another potential bug which is: the double bonus seems to not be added to the total for players.

to give an example:

base rolls 1 + 12 + 12

with an element bonus of +1 and faction bonus of +1 which equals a total of 2

and double bonus which should double the sum of the bonus types [1 + 1] which should add another +2 to the total

1 + 12 + 12 + 1 + 1 = 27. It should have the added double bonus of +2 to make 29.

I want to say I agree with you fully that good side banter makes a game feel much more atmospheric and lived in as it gives some insight into the NPCs [for those not familiar with RPG [role-playing game] terms it stands for non-player characters], especially the LIs [love interests] and adds to the relationships. Your game is really good with that. The elites even sass each other and it's great! I really like seeing little bits of a character's personality shine through, especially in unexpected little ways the route talks don't get into that develop a sense of connection. And I must say, I was so pleasantly surprised to see the common units have bond level talks with the PC [player character]! I did not expect that and was so impressed especially given there are so many of them and each has his own story and things that matter to him.

To respond to your comment about being open to making adjustments to the grinding requirements, I want to say I find it really admirable you are open to listening and to potentially adjusting things based on player feedback. There are many developers who aren't as gracious nor accepting over adjusting functions of the mechanics so it's welcoming you're as nice as you are offering in earnest. Before I answer, I would like to make it clear I am well aware this game is a passion project you work on in your spare time and I wholeheartedly would like you to make the game you want to make rather than feel any pressure to accommodate this silly numpty who doesn't like grinding. With that said, in the spirit of honouring your efforts and not wanting to be obtuse, I will state I'd obviously prefer to have less grinding. Either in adjusting the loyalty required for bond levels 3 and up to be lower or to have more story induced combat rather than straight-up grind duelling. Though, to be honest, I'm not certain if the grinding I've done is actually necessary for story progression or if I only think it is. It's a bit opaque to me how to proceed at certain points so I'm taking a shot that Samuel has to be level 100 for the story to progress. I'm going to start a thread asking about this, actually. My point is: I'm aware I may be misunderstanding the story progression mechanics since I don't play phone-based games and am rather unfamiliar with that genre so I feel a little lost at times. That aside, it's a great game.

Thanks!

Developer

Hi Frumious,

In regards to the double bonus, I think I need to make the combat information more clear but the double bonus only applies to the dice rolls that shared the double. Ex. in this case, two units rolled 6's so they were doubled and converted to 12s. The element and faction points should remain the same. Thank you for bringing this up because it helps me to know how others interpret the information and what I am miscommunicating.  I'm probably going to revisit the combat sequences when I  finish the game jam so I'll definitely review the other issues you mentioned as well.

Also in regards to the grinding, there shouldn't be any bond requirement to progress the storyline, other than getting watermage to bond level 4 in order to enter the sewers. I think a large part of why it seemed stuck and confusing was because of a bug that made the player stuck >_< my apologies for that!! I started thinking of how to interpret your feedback and decided to sprinkle more banter around the game to give the player a chance to gain more loyalty through conversation. So far I added 4 banter per elite and plan to add more when I have more time. Please see the new devlog for 1.43 for more details. Thanks again so much for your suggestion and I hope this is something you can enjoy.

(+1)

Hiya Coffee!

Oh dear. More humility and failed perception rolls on my part. As soon as you mentioned how the double bonus is tabulated, it made perfect sense, especially since some of those double bonus rolls made were of higher values than the unit can roll unmodified. Thanks for taking the time to explain it!

As far as the grinding goes, it was my misunderstanding. I had expected there to be some complex mechanics about having to be of certain levels to progress the story. It was probably partly driven by my wanting to see what else the units, especially the elites, have to say as they level, mixed with the requirement to get the Water Mage to bond level 4. It wasn't the game's fault nor yours at all, it is entirely mine own. I'm sorry for confusing the matter.

And and and!! thank you so much for adding even more banter to help raise loyalty levels! That is super great! I already downloaded the updated version and am looking forward to giving it a whirl. I really enjoy the elites' different personalities and seeing what little tidbits they reveal through banter.

Yay!

Developer

Ah it's my fault for not conveying the information clearly. I think if I showed the original roll and then show it getting converted to a double, it would be much more clear. I'm definitely going to revisit it in the future, as you are not the first one to get confused by some of the strings of numbers displayed. I'm adding some more options to my spin off game to give the player a chance to increase loyalty through "daily" tasks so hopefully that will also offset some of the grind while building some rapport with the  characters. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts with me.

(+1)

Heya Coffe!

Oh, yes, I have the same issue as Xzrono in getting the next phase of the story going when choosing Beileph as the means to progress choosing "Let me speak to the Older Brother" rather than "Let me speak to the Merchant Leader" or "Let me speak to the Queen's hand". That is when the Bestiary first shows the option to request talking with the Beileph. We can have the initial conversation with him (I asked about his work), he babbles, then leaves in a rush. Every time I go there again to see if the story can progress he just pops his head out to ask the worker "Have we received word from the envoy-?" and once he sees the PC he turns away and slams the door and the worker basically kicks the PC out with an apology. Asking the worker to pass on the message to Beileph asking for him to support the Transient One also has nothing happen to progress the story line. I thought I had to get Samuel to level 100 to proceed (hint: that isn't a requirement! Haha!). I've tried going to the merchant guild but seeing his sister Beisel isn't an option when one chose Beileph as the means to progress the story so the PC can't challenge her to a duel. I tried going to the forest to sleep so the game registered time has passed (I don't even know if that is a mechanic but I thought I should try that just in case). It didn't occur to me it's potentially a bug. Hmmm...

Thanks!

Developer

Yes! Thank you both for finding this bug. If you are still stuck in this spot, you should now be able to revisit the bestiary, ask to speak with Beileph, re-watch the scene where he mentions an envoy, and now it should flag properly. There will be dialogue where Samuel will suggest to go visit the Merchant Build and talk to Beisel. Please let me know if 1.43 fixes your problem, as I tested it myself but my file might vary somehow.

(+1)

Hi Coffee!

I gave 1.43 a test and yes, Samuel tells the PC to go to the Merchant's Guild instead and things proceed well. I'm excited to continue the story!

Um, I realized after I posted my bug report it sounded kinda... overbearing. Going on about the things I tried to do probably read as over dramatic complaining. I had intended to be thorough in explaining as much detail about it as I could to make it easier for you to find, especially when at that point I thought there were some hidden mechanics about triggering the next story phase. Sorry about that! Alas, I seem to be unable to prevent myself from acting like a numpty muppet. :)

Developer

Ah thanks for letting me know that it's working for you. I hope you were able to get through the war campaign okay. And please don't apologize for reporting bugs! I really really really appreciate it  so much!! I feel when people write strong opinions it's from a place of having a sense of investment or passion for something. Your suggestions mean that you want my project to be as good as it can be, so thank you so much and don't hold back ^o^

(+1)

Hello!

First off, I would like to say how much I enjoy the game and the characters within (Ruwin and Beisel are my top favs). I could rave about this for a while but I won't because I don't want to waste your time.

I found plenty of spelling mistakes and recorded them for you - unfortunately, I only started noticing/recording them after reaching Brookhaven but here they are! The brackets are my notes, not that I thought you wouldn't figure it out, I just like getting caught up in details.

I am positively looking forward to the alternative world of Villain's Heart and would happily compile a report like this but I suspect after this, you'll get sick my comments lol

I also found a couple of bugs (not very important, but I couldn't help myself and added them , I'll put those down as a separate post from this.

Thank you so so so so much for taking the time to document these errors, I know it's a lot of effort to type this up and I really appreciate you so much! I've tried to improve my process and hopefully avoid so many mistakes in Villain's Heart but I am a very tired momma most of these days so its really easy for me to space out aah! If you are willing to document any errors you find, I am eternally grateful for it!! I'm planning on improving ADW after I finish Villain's Heart and will definitely fix everything you documented here and also make QOL changes like elevating the loyalty grind.  And if you ever want to comment your thoughts on the character and story I would absolutely love to hear your thoughts on that as well. I basically make these games for hopes of connecting with people through character and story so it's never ever a waste of time to get feedback, it's like a dream for creators T_T! Thank you again so much for all your time and effort in making this report and trying out my games. I hope you find Villain's Heart to be an improvement as I hope to integrate these changes to improve ADW. Let me know your thoughts if you can! Best wishes~ <3<3<3

Phew, I'm so glad that didn't annoy you! I didn't intend to record all of these originally but with baby brothers at college asking me to double check their work and younger colleagues doing the same I kinda, sorta got in the headspace and your work was the first thing I came across while in that mood. At least it was helpful to you so I'll do my best with A Villain's Heart.

I'm sorry to hear how tired you're feeling lately, unfortunately all I can do is to send my best wishes and hope you get some rest. I understand how easy it is to miss words, god knows I space out and do it too so it's only right that I do my best to support another person with similar problems.

I don't really have much to add regarding errors now I've listed them all. Only one thing bothers me but it's not an error, more likely something you didn't have time to do. All the little common units have their own story (which I love, it makes them less generic to me) but I can't support Earth Rogue after the second bond talk! He asks whether I should continue to lean on him or words to that effect. I just want to help get him out of his depressed funk :'(.  I can't complain, I get the +1 bond each time and that's what's most important. Talking about the common units, I have to wonder just what Earth Knight drunkenly did/say that he felt he had to beg forgiveness!

Regarding the characters, I like them all to more or less degrees. I've stated that Ruwin and Beisel are my favourite but their reasons for being so are completely different. Ruwin simply amuses me because of the sheer devotion he has for the MC, even to the point that he doesn't care about angering/annoying the others. ...Buuuut I also see that he wouldn't care about that anyway so it makes him feel more genuine and not as someone trying to get the 'closest'. He's very simple and honest and I tend to like those kind of characters in general (even if he did threaten to beat me into a bloody pulp, at least he admitted that he'd regret it). He even admits that he wants to be more like the MC; doing good things for others seems to be his end goal because he doesn't want to regress into the sort of person he was feels very human. I think most people can relate to this to more or less degrees, the desire for self improvement (hopefully not to escape the torment of a past murder though...). The one thing I noticed is that he expands on different past sins depending on whether you're on the love or friendship scene, I felt that was a good attention to detail. It seemed that with the friendship route, he's trying to be completely open but on the love route he wants to be as open as possible without destroying any chance he has with the MC.

Beisel is adorable! I've tried the love and friendship scene for all the characters and she was a darling in both of hers. The overall theme she gives me during them is that she just wants a someone close to her so she can pamper them. The admission that she wanted a best friend to walk arm in arm with was what ensnared me. I aww'ed too much over that. I usually have problems with warrior women because of how they're portrayed, the whole thing where they are strong and may as well be a man with boobs because femininity seems to be anathema to them. But Beisel was just perfect, she may not be feminine but she is 'girly' and isn't ashamed of that, she has times where she's tired but understands that she just has to get back up and kick butt. An awesome little lady. I do wonder how different she acts with a male MC and I will try it out in the future (preferably when the grinding has been sorted).

While I have trouble deciding which character is number one or two in my eyes, Katnir is a very respected three. He seems to genuinely care for the MC early on. While the others are all arguing what the Transient One will do to do whatever it is they want the MC to do, Katnir is reminding them all that the MC has no obligation and may well just want to go home AND THAT'S OKAY. The difference between the friendship and love route was much more obvious but it made sense to me. His mini freak out after the love confession stems from him overthinking, which he seemingly does frequently, so he seemed to stay within character to me.

The others are sweet too in their own way. Lor needs some tissues - he's just as honest as Ruwin in the emotional sense just in the opposite way. Emotional honesty is not the same a factual honesty and it's very easy to see early on (as Water Mage) that he has some secrets if only because he repeatedly downplays himself so he doesn't give the MC any information that may lead to him slipping up and admitting things he did not want to confront. Again, like Ruwin, he's tormented by his past but unlike Ruwin he believes in redemption and will aspire towards that. Same desire but different reasons (the desire to do good but become a better person (Lor) and the desire to do good to not be a bad person again (Ruwin))

Samuel and Beleiph seem to have a similar character development in that they need to learn how to interact with others. Samuel is trying to figure out who he is when he isn't the temple fortune teller but he is kind and earnestly tries to reach out (he's the only character that figures out that maybe the MC isn't feeling all that great about being there and may want a hug/friendly pat-pat!). Beleiph seems to know who he is already but doesn't know how to progress and bridge the gap between people and beasts. With that being his life work, he is aware that he has little to say other than that and it seems to cause some level of personal discomfort because he wants to get close to the MC and just doesn't know how. Samuel seems like he has the ability to learn and grow on his own but Beleiph will need a bit more help and doesn't know how to ask for it.

I may have read these characters wrong but that's my interpretation on them all. They have very human issues, that people can sympathise with even if they don't understand. It has only just occurred to me that the similarities between characters (redemption - Lor/Ruwin and humanity - Samuel/Beleiph) seem to happen with conflicting elements. I don't know if that was intentional but nicely done! And of course, Beisel doesn't have this issue because she's lovely and wonderful as is.

Regarding the loyalty grinding, I have a few thoughts. I noticed that money isn't used very much after recruiting all the common units (at least I didn't use it other than to pay for Samuel's readings) and had an idea. What if there are other gifts to buy that give small loyalty boosts like +2 or +5 or whatever depending on price?

On another note, it turns out I've played your previous work! I had finished Soul Union then dabbled with Soul Labyrinth in my (at the time, sparse) spare time and enjoyed them, swore that I would keep an eye on future works, got caught up in my work and unfortunately forgot about you! Even after playing ADW something had played on my mind - "why does this art style feel similar?" So when I looked up what else you'd made, I felt like an idiot when it all came together!

So what I've learnt from that is that I'm a fan and am looking forward to whatever comes next from ADW or another project!

I shall stop here and wish you all the best in both your projects and personal stuff! Thank you for reading my comment and not getting angry over the amount of spelling mistakes I raised lol

Aww thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me. I like your suggestion for using gold to help increase the loyalty gain. Also I want to thank you again for the reporting all the spelling and grammar mistakes. It's really a lot of volunteered labor! It's like having having a proof reader and it's very generous of you! I'm also glad to hear that you enjoyed both the friendship and romance conversations, as I wonder sometimes if it's worth the extra effort of making so many optional dialogue paths and wonder how many people are actually interested in reading it all. I enjoy the visual novel/ game format for writing characters because I can more freely explore different facets that I wasn't able to fully explore with comics but boy does it create a lot of random text. About the Earth Rogue, it was an accidental oversight that his bond convos didn't get finished. My apologies! I finished them in Villain's Heart and I will be fixing it in ADW in the future. Also with Earth Knight, I imagine he was drinking around some of the other guys and the topic of the MC came up. He chimed in with a crass remark, (something he'd never repeat while sober, along the lines of "I'd hit that") so you can fill in the details with your own head cannon lol. I'm so glad that you shared your interpretation of the characters as they are very accurate to what I was aiming for! I do have to confess though that the similar growth/opposing elements is a happy accident. It is very fun that you picked that out. Ah thanks for giving me such a nice motivational message. I will have warm fuzzies for the rest of the weekend while I work on writing endings. Best wishes to you~

1. Using air priest in any of the mid rows takes away that slot (I didn't need them but I accidently found this when my mouse jumps as I was making my choice and went ahead to check out what happens)

Tried posting images but they didn't work, so I'll try posting them individually.

2.  Second bond talk with Water Rogue with comes up with the KeyError: 'hero, name'

3. Third bond talk with Water Priest comes up with the TypeError: %c requires int or char

Air priest opts out of all 3 mid rows, example
