Awesome game, the atmosphere was set really well with the heartbeats and the twigs. Really fun!
Great job! a quick submit, but I would have loved to have seen more mechanics and maybe a fear bar UI or something to clarify the rules. The sound design was top tier, especially for the time spent.
Thanks for the feedback! I was worried about scope creep so I wanted to make something very simple, but after I submitted my game I felt like it was too simple. Still, I'm glad people enjoyed it.
That totally makes sense, it's the constant balance with game jams. As an FYI, you can upload newer versions of the game after submitting right up until the deadline, if you achieve your smaller goal really quickly but want to keep polishing it.
The sound design is pretty good! You can feel the tension, but the actual monster didn't look very menacing, it would be great if they were more dangerous.
Looking back on it, I think I made the wolves too cute and not very scary. If I were to make a full release, they would do more than just follow a set path. Like maybe sniff out for the player or listen for twigs snapping.
cool concept. not so sure what everything did tho, and it seems more like a chore than challenging to play the game
also the dogs look cool :D
Thanks for the feedback! I should've added a clearer explanation in the game instead of hoping that every single player would read the page's description. I think I should've introduced an enemy that either pursues or follows the player which could have added a dynamic element and make it feel less like a chore.
awesome!
I really like the stick mechanic, although I wish I was punished a little more for stepping on them.
Great + cute + adorable art. The shrinking circle of light and heartbeat were good for building tension, but I think they needed a "climax" such a jumpscare for when time finally ran out.
Thanks for the feedback! I originally just wanted the sticks there for decoration and I didn't even think that they could be used as "traps" against the player until I watched people try to avoid them. I'll definitely keep that in mind for the future.
I'm not a huge fan of games with jumpscares, but I do agree that there just isn't a satisfying climax. I'll think of a creative solution.
Amazing atmosphere
the atmosphere was well done, makes u feel like u are in the middle of the woods. the stick idea was quite a good idea as well, helps with navigation and helps with atmosphere
Thank you for making this, I'd never participated in a game jam either, and you inspired me to go for it! I ran out of time and didn't finish, but still!
Great game, congrats on your first game jam!
I'm glad I inspired you.
very nice
Great game, nice art and music. Good job!
Nice and straight forward game loop. Very atmospheric ambiance, charming graphics... Great little game!
Short, fun, horor-ish game with awesome art, good aesthetic and nice concept. Keep up the great work!
I like the core gameplay idea of the shrinking view.
Really great atmosphere!
I really like the ambience and atmosphere, also the sounds, but i felt lost, there is no level of challenge and is basically a walking simulator making the gameplay quite flat.
Thanks for the feedback! I think the game becomes too easy when you come to realize that all of the monsters basically aren't a threat. I think I should've added an enemy that chases the player or some other monster that would actually pose as a threat.
wow, it's very cool
Amazing game. Loved it!
Your game is first one I am rating, because I liked it most
Thanks!
Nice Animations. It did feel a little too long but it was definitely not a bad experience. < 3
neat, I like the player animations
