I like the crazyness of it all. Also the soundtrack with awesome goat sounds

First off, I clicked on this game solely because of the title and I was not disappointed.

The game is super easily understood.

Visually, it's beautiful. Nice colors, super cohesive stylistically, and amazing visual effects throughout.

The sound was also on point, with great sound effects, and literally goated music.

I think it has the core systems to be a really cool deckbuilder, but there were some issues.

  • I don't think upgrading cards worked...
  • I don't think adding cards worked...
  • I can't tell it deleting cards worked.
  • The gameplay feels too simplistic(especially because I effectively played the starting deck the whole way.)
  •  It feels both very luck-based and pretty easy.

For difficulty context, I enjoy games like Slay the Spire, and Inscryption(I beat Kaycee's mod with all of the skulls enabled lol.) These both have luck elements but also rely heavily on player skill. What I'm trying to say is that I like difficult games, but that doesn't mean the game feeling easy for me is necessarily bad. Ultimately, you get to decide what difficulty level you want the game to have.

But yeah, let me know when the steam version drops because I would definitely pick this up if it expands.

Thanks for enduring my ted talk. Great game.

Thank you for playing and the detailed feedback. This really helps me a lot!

There will definitely be a post jam version but I am not sure about a steam release yet.

Conceptually cool! The bugs are unfortunate. It does also seem like being able to beat the game with the starting deck is maybe a little to easy, but it works out since because of the bugs. I'll have to keep an eye out for the revised version!

Developer

Thank you :) I tried to keep the difficulty light for the jam so that players can see as much of the game as possible. I agree, it could be more challenging. Yes, please do! I will probably have an updated version ready after the jam ;)

Inscryption but good.

Very nice visuals and I like the dedication to a restricted color pallet. I would say the most unique thing to me is the use of the wavy border that squashes in and out of transitions, not sure if I've ever seen that done before in a game.

Developer(+1)

Wow thank you :) I also like the border effect. I saw something similar in a game by fartfish who creates pretty cool stuff imo. So I made my own version of it.

For some reason adding or upgrading cards doesn't work. Still was a fun game though. Was insanely goated so I guess that means you'll end up winning.

Developer(+1)

Yes I noticed that too late unfortunately. It’s a webgl thing. I will fix it after the jam. ;) Yeah I guess so xD

Great game, nicely implemented and well presented :)

Nice job!

Developer

Thank you so much ! :)

The visuals are insanely well made, I especially liked the color palette and the effect at the edges of the screen which makes it feel like part of the itch page. Definitely felt the slay the spire inspiration, in a good way - I feel like the game executed it rather well. The music was a bit tiring after a while (because of short loop), but it was epic. Really great job!

Developer

Thank you a lot for your feedback! Yes I like the “borderless” effect a lot myself. I also felt that the song might get annoying but I just had to go for that goat sound 🐐.

Developer

Developer

Thank you for the kind words :)

Submitted(+1)

I love this! This game is one of my favorites so far.

Developer

Great to hear!

Submitted(+2)

goated! The card upgrades I wasn't sure were working. Semi related but inscryption is the ultra goat

Developer

Thank you ! They should give you a “+” card. It might not be very noticeable. Could also be a bug though. Yes inscription is awesome! My main inspiration for the card gameplay was slay the spire

Great presentation and the concept to run away from battle is really neat!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yes I figured that’s what a goat would do.

Submitted(+1)

Great presentation, funny bahhh-based song, enjoyed the core concept. Had a good time and beat the GOAT (my head canon is the goat's name is Mang0). Great work!

Developer(+1)

I am happy to hear you liked it :)

Great card game. the art is really good, the level transition are so nice to look at and the gameloop is really good too :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the nice feedback :)

Submitted(+1)

That's an interesting project haha, you are really insanely goated, I hope acerola will like this

Developer

Thank you so much :) I really appreciate it. I guess he said so himself.. ;)

I love card games, and I think you did a good job here. The style is on point, and the humorous tone of it all helps enjoy it even more.

Developer

thank you :) I am very happy you enjoyed it

I really love the look of the game and how you embedded it into the page, good job !

Developer(+1)

Thank you :)

Very pretty! Fun soundtrack too. Idk if I'm a brainlet but the final boss felt kind of unfair

Developer

Thank you for the nice comment ! I am sure you are of (above) average intelligence ;) the balancing could be improved for sure :)

Submitted(+1)

I was really absorbed by the transition between screens. How did you achieve such effects? It's like a fast slime eating the screen! The choose of colors is also perfect. So you get it that the game will be special! Congrats!

Developer

Thank you for playing :) the transition is based on a metaball shader. The border around the screen are metaballs. For the transition it moves some of them to the center of the screen so that everything is closed. They move out again for the “open” part. I will probably share the code later. I just want to clean it up a bit before

Submitted(+1)

Acerola did say you'd have to be insanely goated to win, so I'd say your chances are good! Jokes aside, I dig the goat music and the scene transitions. It was a quick and fun experience.

Developer(+1)

My thoughts exactly 🤣 Thank you for playing and the nice comment ;)
