Really creative and most profound mode themed game so far. Controls and animations can be better but consept is great , keep it up!
Incredible solo game! I was blown away by the originality and creativity going on. I literally "wow"ed out loud at the third cartridge reveal. Some of the platforms were difficult to get to but the checkpoints were really well placed and not having to start from the very beginning helped a ton. Cool idea!
I'm with the other people in here. This is so so impressive to do in this short a time frame. I played about 20 min, and I just want to sit here and play even more. Well done!
Very impressive!! Great execution, specially considering the time constraints. A joyful and short experience!
This was a pretty original and ambitious idea! Well done doing this all on your own. The music was good and the mechanics played well. I was waiting for that RHYTHM MODE!
ah thanks, I was thinking of some sort of rhythm mode... was thinking of how to change the map to fit one.. i guess something like necrodancer.
This was a fun and very unique one. I found the secret treasure! Great choice of game modes, they meshed well together. It seems tricky to have to create a top down view for every 2d level area especially underground with the floating platforms, but it was seamless.
Great job solo developing. This game gave me a similar feeling as playing the Evoland games, and I love those games (especially Evoland 2). The music was very good and fitting too.
I like the modes!!! Would like to smash things but it's great!
liked the way the different genres interacted with the map, this could be something really cool with a little bit of refinement in each of the genres (i especially found the platforming a little awkward). i also like the cartridge load visuals
A short but sweet game :) I think the various game modes were integrated well, noticed a few bugs/spots where my character would die but nothing that was derailing. I wish the cartridge load was dismissable because I read slowly and couldn't catch all the attributes for each mode. Would love to see this finished with some more polish, it has a lot of heart!
Really awesome idea and cool execution. Some of the interactions I had with enemies felt a bit strange. Would bounce off of them without damaging them a couple times. Regardless you packed a ton of content in here in a short amount of time and it was impressive. Nice job!
Wow, lots of content here for a game jam game! Great Job!
Really interesting concept. I enjoyed seeing what each new mode would bring. And when I got stuck it was satisfying to consider the tools that each mode brings to get me past a situation.
this was neat and original. I found myself saying 'oh so that kills you' and getting hit by the ceiling there a few times. A lot of Mode but it needs more Big.
Nice game! That was a tremendous effort you took to create all the game modes for this in 3 weeks! Really cool concept and very creative level design. I liked the personality in the dialogue as well :D
Very cool game. But there was one point where my gun wasn't harming an enemy with spike spikes on it and I culd progress. Still a very cool idea executed very well.
I LOVE the idea of this game, and the writing is so charming! Unfortunately my guy stopped being able to move during the Jumper fight. :P
Ah, Thanks for playing, was it in the web build or another version? I added a kill button ('K') in case the player gets stuck/stops moving which should reset the player's position.
Oh, good to know! I was playing in the browser. I'll have to go back and finish it now that I know there's a way to get un-stuck! :D
I really enjoyed the story, good job dude!
Seriously impressive game. I'm sure a lot of people had this idea but very few actually pulled it off like you did. Great work
I really enjoyed this! The story and dialog is simple and fun, I love the changing mechanics and it's a very charming short game. Changing RPG enemies to interactable with dialog and not kill you in other modes would fits better I think.
I don't see any use for the "lives" and "game over" since the game will put you back into the last checkpoint regardless.
Other than those I think this game is fun and I enjoyed my time with it to the point I had to drop this game for lunch and pick it back up.
Really unique concept with the theme!
The game is pretty polished and I liked the concept of switching game modes to get to different areas and defeat different enemies. I will say that the first yellow metroidvania boss is a bit too hard. He switches from spikes to no spikes very quickly while moving all over the platform. I think some kind of warning signal would help out a lot with the fight. I’d like to continue the game, so if you have any tips for the fight, let me know!
Overall, great work on the game and I look forward to the hints so I can continue!
Ah, Thanks for playing. You are right, the first boss might be a bit too difficult.
The boss has 3 attacks. the first attack is when the boss moves left and then right to the wall, and then back to center. This is the easiest pattern, you can jump as soon as the boss touches the right wall.
The second attack is when the boss bounces around, each bounce toggles the spike. This is the hardest attack i feel like. You can try to safely ignore this attack.
The third attack, the boss goes up and slams down and does that another time, the second time the spikes go down, so you have a lot of time to jump on him.
After each attack, the boss goes back to the center.
