looks really fun but it lagged too much in browser to play

Really fun game! Loved the lowres graphics and style.

This game felt hard for me, the platforming controller felt very difficult to deal with, and it not being on controller and needing to stick to keyboard made the game way more difficul then it should be. And music restarting every time made it even worse. I enjoyed the concept of the combat quite a bit though.

Apart from all that- this was amazingly executed. Really well done!

cool concept, easy to grasp mechanics with quick ascension of skill checks

This is very fun and very satisfying! Mainly just needs more levels but what is here is so good!!

Great game! The presentation is sharp, clean, and smooth. The audio design and attack cues helped me parry like a champion.
Reminded me of this classic:

Super fun! Well taught interesting mechanics, love to see it. Very impressive sneaking in here halfway through the jam with this gem, love it.

oh yeah, this one is right up my alley. it's brutal but feels really good to get better at.  i think it's hilarious you can also just die immediately on a level if you're holding forward too early lol. very cool concept and well executed with the enemy and platform placement.  one question i have about controls is if you've considered going full keyboard for this?  not that mouse click feels bad necessarily but i also love finding games that can be played entirely on keyboard

more of a dodging kinda guy than a parrying guy tbh

Amazing game! It’s like Hotline Miami in terms of difficulty and addictive gameplay. I died many times too!

Lovely game mechanic and felt great with perfect timing to achieve the ultimate deadly parry move!
Music and art style are class A! great work!

Great fun! Slick gameplay and great artwork! Wish I could hear more of the soundtrack but I keep dying and it keeps restarting XD

Wow This is Perfect Game!! I Love this pixel Art And Unique GamePlay!! but little hard, so I heard start of the bgm over 100+ times  Haha!!

Sick.

Reminds me of the best samurai action game called "sekiro" ever made.

Really creative, I couldn't pass level 4 lol

So much fun, beating level 4 was very satisfying :D

I beat it! Boy, level 4 is a SPIKE in difficulty! Fun though and satisfying to finally just let the enemies off themselves in the last level. I also enjoy standing on the samurai's head.  Good Jams!

The gameplay, music, sound effects, and graphics of Thou Shalt Parry were all phenomenal! I also appreciated how new concepts were introduced progressively. I think an alternative control scheme for the jump parry could help a little. Nevertheless, I had a blast playing this game!

Really cool stuff! I didn't really get the controls at first (I thought you aimed with the mouse, woops), but at level 3 everything clicked and it was amazing. And some real great art as well

All of the obstacles and enemies were interesting and I really liked how you made parrying part of the platforming. Some of the levels felt a little similar to me, though.

Super fun! The quick retries made it rather addicting, although I wish you could aim your parries with your mouse instead of being forced to use directional input haha. Getting the pogoing down was very satisfying!
