How does your game represent "Power"?
POWER is a valuable resource, used to fuel the defenses controlled by the player. The player must carefully manage how much POWER they are diverting to their towers, otherwise POWER will drain down to 0 before all the enemies can be defeated.
Any remaining POWER contributes to the player's score at the end of each wave. This spare POWER can then be used as a currency to purchase upgrades.

Serious animation skills. Nice entry!
Thank you for playing! :) I'm glad you like the look of these lil guys. Merb bless you.
Cool game! The tips screenshot definitely helped me out, so thank you for that. There are a good amount of powerups and skill involved in this game, it's very well put together in those aspects.
You're really great at drawing too! I just love this guy:
I'm really glad you got the hang of the game and had some fun playing it! :)
I agree the art is fantastic, I have a link to the artist's Instagram on the game's itch page. He really enjoyed making those lil guys :)
FOR MERB!!!
Fun fact: FOR MERB was added to the game with 3 minutes left for submission
Thank you for playing! :)
What a crazy concept! It reminds me broadly of an old itch game called Systems Nominal, but honestly I'm not sure I've played another game like this. The typing-test element of the game adds an extra level of brainpower, although it's pretty easy to tank your power if your fingers fall out of home row configuration for a moment. I really enjoyed the shotgun, but I wish there was more reason to switch weapons on the fly, and maybe a reminder about the weapon codes during the game. Super unique idea! This game definitely stands out across other jam entries.
These are great suggestions, thank you so much for playing! :)
I really like the Artwork for the main menu and itch page. The concept of the game is pretty unique as well! Great work!
Thank you for playing! :) The artist is linked on the game's itch page, he does great stuff.
Love the idea of a typing-based tower defence type game, though Merb should not have to rely on my awful typing skills for his survival.
Here is what Merb told me: trying to type will be your downfall. Treat it more like a controller with 30 buttons.
Thanks Merb! And thanks to you for playing. :)
This is super original, especially the idea to change shot types by holding down the specific keys. I didn't get very far, but I'm sure once you get the hang of it and start typing away like a madman, it gets insane. Would love to seem more of this game!
Trust me, it is possible to get good at this game, my buddy Lawrence has a really good score and he thinks the game is easy (I don't know anyone named Lawrence)
Thanks for playing! :)
Turning the keyboard into towers for a tower defense game is an interesting concept, and this game plays off of that well in interesting ways such as spelling particular words, losing keys, and mapping the space onscreen to the physical keyboard. The latter in particular creates an interesting alt-controller in-the-zone experience once you’ve gotten used to the screen to keyboard mapping. Well done!
You did it. You've achieved the POWER SUCKERS flow state. Now that you've felt it, going back to using your keyboard to type just won't feel the same anymore. Thank you for playing! :)
this is the first typing game where my typing skills couldnt save me
fun game, difficulty curve could use some tweaking
Get gud (just kidding this is a very valid, thoughtful piece of criticism and I really appreciate that you played my game ❤)
it was very fun once i figured it out i was confused at first and faced that bug where power was 0 until i reloaded. when it gets going its very fun!
Thank you for playing! :) I appreciate you pushing your way through the learning curve.
lol, this is a funny concept. I found the keyboard interaction a bit confusing at first, but aside from that I really like the originality and sound effects
Thank you for playing! :) I'm glad you saw the inherent funniness. I love the idea of making a game based entirely on using your keyboard that essentially punishes you if you try to start typing. I couldn't resist, even if it is a bit sadistic 😂
This is sick! Super clever representation of the theme and I could see it being expanded on in cool ways.
Thank you for playing! :)
Nice interpretation of the theme! POWER SUCKERS SUCKING UP MY POWER!
OH GOD OH NO THEY TOOK EVERYTHING AND NOW MERB IS DEAD!!!
Thank you for playing :)
Fun, but a little hard. Could benefit from enemy health bars.
Thank you for playing! :) That is a great suggestion. The "Exo-Gems" (towers) could probably use some health bars as well.
Cool idea and beautiful visuals
Thank you for playing! :)
BUG WARNING!!! There seems to be a bug where the game state potentially doesn't reset after hitting a game over. So just refresh the page to play again if this happens to you. :)
thank you!
Couldn't really figure out how to survive, but maybe it was a skill issue. could see this being a really great too to teach keyboard skills! Original concept!
Thanks for playing! The key (no pun intended) is to only activate a couple of towers at a time, and try holding the keys instead of spamming them. POWER is precious after all, use it sparingly. :)
I've linked the artist's Instagram on the game's main itch.io page for those interested :)
Very interesting and original idea but its a little hard to play. And artwork is awsome!
Thank you for playing! I'm not sure if you mean "hard to play" as in challenging, or "hard to play" as in cumbersome, but either way that is a valid point. :) I think the unique input method can make it hard in both senses, especially at first. For those wanting to give it a shot, be sure to take a look at the "Instructions" screen on the Main Menu for tips on how to overcome the POWER SUCKERS. May Merb bless us all!
Awesome concept mapping all the keys to independent defences! Hard to regulate, but satisfying to pull off and beautiful to watch fall apart. I love the drawn art in the game and in the thumbnail too, it feels like something I'd see on an 80's can of bug spray.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy it! That is definitely the aesthetic we were aiming for. :)
