How does your game represent "Power"?
This game is electrical power -- you must align voltage waves and travel along the circuit of capacitors, resistors, and inductors to provide power...

I really enjoyed this entry. It gets too hard for me though but I can see myself getting hooked and trying to learn the timing. Top tier presentation as well.
This is such a great rhythm game. I didn't even realize it was a rhythm game until I heard Into the Hall of the Mountain King and put two and two together! It's a shame I suck at rhythm games, I couldn't get past the 4th or 5th level. The main thing is the rhythm changes with your space timing so if you're not perfect with your space presses, your arrow movements become unsynced. Maybe having the arrow keys being the only thing you need to press would make it easier? Or maybe I just need to get good lol. But presentation is amazing and the game is super creative. Great work!
very high polish, this is one of my favorites of this jam. i was unable to finish it however. when you mess up the timing it is hard to get back into sync, meaning the rythum no longer lines up with the game, or at least, that is what it felt like. i'm also not certain if some of the "Speed up" pieces align neatly since i would often have to time my way though them rather then feel the rhythm. though, this is likely just a skill issue, if expanded upon, i woudl like a method of recovering the rythum. Then again, maybe that is part of the point. Still going to be thinking about this one for a while though.
The difficulty curve definitely isn't smooth, consequence of limited time sadly. There's a certain degree of poly rhythm involved at points where you're hitting on off beats and that was a design problem I struggled with. Each level has a psuedo "correct" route where all the hits line up, but I wanted there to be some freedom in approach rather than railroading every level to force a certain cadence. Not sure if the balance between the two is completely there. Earlier levels are meant to have "safe" rings that allow you to get back on the rhythm using the orange guide wave, but those are scarce after level four. Thanks for giving it a try!
I could play a full game of this
This game was recommended by one of my buddies who played. Its really good! The presentation of power is amazing! I did struggle a lot with the gameplay mechanics, but that might be more of a me problem than anything. This game is crisp, simple and I will probably return to it later after reviewing a lot of other games. Had a lot of fun, good work!
Preciate you checking it out! Based on other comments, it's not a you problem, the game could definitely use a better tutorial section!
This is a really good lookin' game! This is some all-star presentation. The mechanics are a bit tricky to get a handle on at the start though. It wasn't immediately clear that I was supped to keep rhythm and its easy to lose track of the energy bar. Maybe a brief tutorial screen could've helped. Great stuff though
Thanks for the feedback! I've definitely learned I need to work on player guidance for future games -- I've updated the game page with instructions but there should be some more teaching in the gameplay for sure.
The game mechanics on this are kinda what I wish my game was haha! Amazing idea on throwing so many things at the player while maintaining a rhythm and the circuit designs are phenominal! I would 10000% play a more drawn out version from start to finish. (and maybe again)
This game feels so good to learn. Its like becoming the polyrithm god I never could be. The presentation is impeccable and the music is on point. The frames for transitionning circles could be enlarged, as sometimes my brain wants me to press spacebar and the direction simultaneously, but maybe thats part of the experience. Cheers!
I would like to say I gained some poly rhythm skills from the development, but my hands like to do the same thing at the same time still ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm no good at rhythm games but i had fun learning the systems and i had it down by like level 3. Presentation is fantastic and slick, there is no confusing the different elements of the level and its just plain satisfying to look at.
Learning curve is a little steep for rookie players, as others mentioned. I see you mentioned you were thinking about a difficulty slider, i think that would be a fantastic addition if you choose to continue or rework this project.
My lack of skill in the genre will not effect your rating negatively lol. Great work.
This is my favorite game in the whole jam so far! I love rhythm games, and I love multitasking. The rhythm combined with movement is great!
Check out our game- I paid special attention to the music
This is pretty awesome! The concept is well presented. I only wish the timing had a little bit more leeway.
Easily the coolest entry I've seen so far! Incredibly unique premise with great game feel and presentation. If there's anything I wasn't fond of it was that the timing for going between circles felt too unforgiving. I think with a bit of tuning you have something truly special here! Great work!
Wow, a really cool combo of a rhythm game and action! Although a tutorial would help - it took me quite a while to figure out what at all is going on :) But after I figured - wow, great game!
Although, while a big fan of rhythm games, I found it a bit too hard when the rhythm changes. Timing your move is already hard when you tap the rhythm with your other hand, but when it changes - it becomes a bit overwhelming. I'd suggest the same rhythm - maybe as an option for "easy" difficulty or something.
That said - fantastic game, very unique and captivating. And kudos for Godot!
Thanks for feedback! I had the idea too late to add keyboard icons that would flash up on the intersections in the first few levels you guide you, along with implementing a difficulty slider to adjust the timing threshold (currently it’s 125 ms which is pretty tight) — but alas, so it is with game jams.
Good to see a submission from you, I really enjoyed your Wild Jam entry from this month and congrats on the top 10!
Thank you! :)
Very good presentation! I can see so many more design decisions, which could have been implemented!
Was there any regrets during the development?
Thanks for checking it out! I wish I had mapped out the intersection between the music and the level design more clearly before fleshing them out. The last two levels are the only ones I'd consider "real" levels where they have intentional choices and crafted mini-puzzles of figuring out the best route to take. Though, the last level only got there by me restarting over and over and over and building each sequence one or two beats at a time. If I had taken a larger view of the whole game, I could have figured a way to programmatically created levels from looking at a MIDI file, mapping the beats, converting those into rotation and track data, yada yada... would have taken more upfront to get that system down, but would have made for smoother level creation and more engaging levels.
Also wished I could have playtested with others more. I'm sure the controls are unintuitive to others and the game doesn't do a great job of leading you along. The difficulty might be a bit on the harsh side too, I regret not adding a custom difficulty slider so everyone could enjoy the levels at their own chosen level.
Took me a bit to figure out the controls, but this is a great game! Definitely one of the best I've seen!
Thanks for checking it out! Communicating to the player is definitely an area of improvement I'm looking at, is there anything that I could include in the game page that would have made learning the controls easier for you?
The presentation and polish on this game is amazing! I love the interpretation of the theme as well :)
Might just be on my end, but I found transitioning between the rings to be quite difficult - I was aiming to hit the space bar as the middle of the "power bar" passed over a dot but couldn't quite get the hang of it, would love some dev tips if you have any :)
Great submission :)
Switching tracks is with arrow keys / W A S D (i.e., D when over the dot if you're trying to move to a ring on the right). The space bar is for keeping track of the bpm. Following the orange wave will help realign the rhythm if you get out of sync. The timing is fairly tight, you have a 125ms window around the dot indicator to successfully switch. A little tip I used was falling below the bpm on purpose to slow my speed down on tricky switches, and then tapping back up again before the meter depleted. The timing can be hard, even for me after spending hours playing it -- one of my wishlist features was adding a slider to adjust the threshold but alas. Thanks for playing!
Thank you so much for the tips! Going to give it another shot :)
Ahhh I understand what I was doing wrong, I was trying to go to the next ring by pressing the wrong arrow key sometime, was a lot of fun, great game!
Haha the concept for this is amazing. Very fun, played all the way through even though it was really tough. I was really getting the hang of it at the end and definitely was going to play through to the end no matter how many levels there were. Thought I was going to be playing a lot more games tonight but spent most of an hour with this.
Thanks for the play! The difficulty curve definitely ramps up a bit too quickly with the last two tracks, and I'm glad you stuck with it through the end :)
