Intro was spot on, I accidentally stumbled onto what seems to be the best build. Double jump, dagger and float. Fun movement and good music.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! And finding the (unintentional) super build!

Looks great, has a cool concept, the movement is a tad rough but thats it really! 2D platformers are hard and I could not be bothered to try and make one lol

Developer

2D platformers are, indeed, tough. :)

We are working on an updated character controller for a post-jam release that will, hopefully, address some jank.

Thanks for playing and commenting!

Cool game! It made a really strong first impression- being provided with an opportunity for some introspection before playing was a nice surprise. I did 3 playthroughs so I could play with all 9 abilities, it only seemed right to see all of your hard work. I had fun all 3 times, but some abilities are DEFINITELY better than others. The broken build I found was dagger + double jump + float. I'm sure you're aware of that, though, and it makes me happy to know that you're going to continue development and polish the rough edges. The final boss was creepy, too. I'm hoping the final version will reveal the mysteries that your world holds! I had fun and I'm excited to see what's next.

Developer(+1)

Very flattering that you took the time to experience the various permutations. Thank you!

We are planning post-jam updates to introduce some balancing and fix various observations made by the community. Thanks again!

Nice work! I like the whole vibe and atmosphere of the game. The ominous feel makes it very fun, especially the intro.

Developer

Thank you!

Cool moody roguelike. I  really liked  the intro of the game.

Thank you for playing!

Some of the movement is buggy but thats not entirely a bad thing! For example, I found a tech that makes you jump really high if you spam space at the side of a block. It was cool to have another movement option like that to use!

Developer

Bugs that become features? Sounds good to me...

Thanks for playing!

Really enjoyed the intro and atmosphere of the game! Gameplay was a bit rough, but with a bit of cunning I made it through.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm looking forward to a post-jam release with an improved character controller.

Cool character designs! Fonts can be a little tough to read when figuring out abilities but other than that I had a nice playthrough. I think a few more screenshots would entice people to play, you are underselling the pixel art!

Developer

Thank you for playing and commenting! We will be sure to add screenshots!

Fun game!  Love the style & vibes, and the floor complete sound is super satisfying!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed!

nice work! really enjoyed the setting and vibe, some nice effort went into establishing an atmosphere.

Developer

Thank you!

I think this game needs more work on polishing the gameplay, as a lot of the interactions are kinda janky and weird, but I think the concept is very original and interesting. I think there is def some interesting ideas here, it just needs some more refinement

Developer

That is a fair observation. We are already working on an improved character and camera controller for post-jam updates.

Thanks for playing and commenting!

The intro sequence and cutting the music off after a level is complete do a good job of setting atmosphere and context, good job there.

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

Great work! The idea and art style are really original, and create a cohesive world. Was hard though I couldn't make it very far haha

Developer

Thanks for playing and commenting! The difficulty curve will receive some attention post-jam. Thanks again!

I got as far as I could, but definitely struggled to get far at all with how difficult the gameplay is. The camera not showing the ground below you when you jump is definitely an unwanted struggle, and made it hard to follow where you were positioning yourself. The music is cool, and the idea is really well implemented in the time you had to do this. Well done!

Developer

Thank you for playing and providing feedback!

The observations about the camera behavior have been a theme and have inspired some ideas for how to improve!

cool idea! i like the theming of the game, especially the intro, and the animation style is cool. i also think the attack has a good feel to it- sort of like castlevania or zelda 2, where timing is critical thanks to the long cooldown. i ran into a few bugs here (and ended up getting some bonus hearts in the top right corner by launching myself really high), but the only frustrating thing was the flying enemies in the final area not swooping down for a few minutes. i also didn't feel super incentivized to use the shield with the amount of enemies around.

Developer

Great feedback, thank you!

Interesting observation on incentivizing use of the shield. I think, following bugfixes and balancing, the levels could benefit from periods "high volume" or "chaos". Thanks again!

I enjoyed the game but when I was versing rhe triangle boss guy I couldn't kill some of the flying enemies because they didn't come down when I stood under them. There was also some invisible collisions bug I believe where when I killed the flying enemy their collision stayed at the position they died at. I liked the intro though and I thought it was good.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! We (clearly) have some last-minute bugs that will need remediation. :)

i love the presentation, the intro is hooking and quite cool. i wish i enjoyed the gameplay a bit more but the combat was difficult, i cant always see what im fighting, and they come at you fast too. but overall, the game is very intriguing.

Developer(+1)

The combat absolutely needs balancing and quality-of-life improvements.

Thank you for taking the time to play and provide feedback!

I really like the presentation the graphics, but I would prefer if I could just launch the game in fullscreen in browser, since I had to zoom in pretty hard to combat aliasing.  Also, the health UI seems to not update correctly. The music is a banger and a good choice. The main character and all of the animations are so cute and cool.

The choosing of your powers in beginning is a really cool idea, but I struggled with the action - it feels like all of the weapons have the same hitbox, despite looking a little different?

Overall i think its pretty original and really well made in terms of graphics (the falling sand animation is a banger, i loved that). The action just didn't hook me after the intro and I ended up giving up the climb after a few failed attempts.

Developer(+1)

Good call! I just enabled the fullscreen option. Forgot last night; woops.

There is, unfortunately, a bug with the health UI.

While the weapons do have distinct hitboxes, the differences are "too subtle" right now and will receive some tinkering post-jam.

Thank you for taking the time to play and providing the detailed feedback!

Submitted(+1)

it got my personality exactly right

Submitted(+1)

The beginning was cool, but the action gameplay wasn't great. The camera being attached to the player made it difficult to see the enemies when jumping and at the end I think I destroyed the eye, but nothing happened so I'm not sure if I beat the game or not. I think you should also add the controls in the description, because it took me a while to realize that x was the attack button.

Developer(+1)

Excellent feedback. A more dynamic camera is a great suggestion.

Thank you for taking the time to play and comment!
