That was awesome visual storytelling!  The art and music were both really well done. The game itself was simple but fun

Developer

Thank you!

Surprisingly insightful, learned a bit more about myself by answering the questions - for that, I am grateful to this game - thank you!
Being able to fly was fun, helped with the boss a lot!

Developer

Thank you for playing!

The concept is cool and the art is very nice! I was able to cheat the game though because if you just walk to the opposite end of the room you can climb the ladder even if it isn't there. So I didn't need to kill any of the enemies on the floors. I also think I beat the boss (killed the eyeball) but the game didn't end. If it wasn't supposed to then that's fine, just thought I should point that out.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! It seems you found all the bugs!

Beating the eye completes the game for now. And that message is displayed... In the wrong layer where nobody will see. So, congratulations! You secretly won!

We are working on a post jam update to address these quirks.

Awesome, true completionist run unintentionally xD And that's good to hear that you'll work on the game after the jam. The concept is worth more exploration!

Interesting idea! I love a good personality quiz that decides stuff that you dont know ahead of time, reminds me of the weird questions it asks before you play MGS3

Thank you!

I really like the art and the story elements of making choices before starting a run!

Very beautiful art and great intro. The game progression was a bit too hard, and the controls are a bit chunky, so unfortunately, I couldn't get far enough to see what was waiting for me at the top. But the vibes and art style are fantastic!

Developer

Thank you for playing and reviewing! We are working on a post-jam update to address the concerns you have highlighted

Submitted(+1)

The retro art style is unique, and I especially loved being able to move the character at the start and the sand transition effect. Maybe I chose the wrong skills, but attacking enemies was difficult, and I struggled to progress. Still, the game had a lot of charm, and I found the experience engaging.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and providing your thoughts! We've heard a lot about the difficulty curve. There's a post-jam update in the works that will improve that and, hopefully, give the skills more distinct feels

This war original

I really liked the selections in the beginning defining your playthrough. It was a little on the harder side to clear the floor and progress. With some more polishing on the combat (making attacks of enemies more clear/visibile) it would help a lot, but that is just nitpicking for a gamejam. Overall everything works together really well!

Developer

Thanks for playing and commenting! We've received a lot of feedback about the difficulty and are in the process of implementing post-jam improvements

I liked the art and intro sequence a lot, but I wasn't quite sure what the impact of my decisions were (until reading the comments here). I died on the 2nd and 3rd floor after a few tries with the sword, dash, and double jump. I wasn't quite sure what the bottles were doing? they didn't seem to juice my health back up! I think I could have made it further if you got a heart back or healed up every level you ascended

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! The bottles are bugged in this version. They're supposed to heal you (and they kind of do, sometimes) but the UI doesn't update properly to represent the true state of affairs. This is great input and we are folding these considerations into our post-jam update

I really like the look of this game, it makes me think of some old DOS title, the gameplay is quite fun despite the different weapons being underwhelming. The presentation was great though, the multiple-choice idea kept it interesting. Good job!

Thank you for your feedback and taking the time to play!

Neat game. I like the different abilities that you can get, I restarted to see them all. Some are for sure better than others. Like the throwing dagger felt like the best weapon and the wall hang felt kinda useless compared to normal jumps. Overall good work, nice pixel art as well.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! I agree that the wall hang is kind of... lacking clear purpose at the moment. As the game develops we intend to have more mid-level obstacles that will hopefully better justify its inclusion. Thanks again!

5 stars for that presentation.  literally felt like if journey was on N64. this was beautifully made. and figuring out the enemy patterns to kill them was very enjoyable. one of my current favorites for the jam

Developer(+1)

This is such wonderful feedback and I really appreciate the comparison to Journey. Thank you so much!

i honestly really really liked this game. if this was fleshed out as a full game with more content. i would play it. but for the time crunch of a game jam, it is great what you pulled off! Feels like a demo to a bigger game.

Developer(+1)

We are planning a post-jam update and have integrated a lot of feedback already. I'm excited for the updated character controller and some general quality-of-life improvements.

Cool game! I think the atmosphere was great and the character designs were very good and the music + sfx suited the game nicely. By means of infinite flight (pressed Z right after Space allowing me to fly upwards for as long as I liked) I was able to skip past sections of the game, which trivialized the experience a bit. But I enjoyed myself none the less! Great work :D

Developer(+1)

Z + Spacebar: Perhaps our first speedrun?

Thank you for taking the time to play and provide feedback!

Nice work here! I like the art a lot and think you could maybe make the UI a bit chunkier and bigger to match, but that's just a personal thought. Overall very cool concept!

Developer(+1)

I just tested a slightly larger UI and I think it is a very good call. Thank you for the feedback!

Intro was really cool, I like the idea of choosing your powers, it gives the game some more replayability to see the different options. I thought the camera was a bit stiff, when I was flying I found it hard to see where I was aiming. With some more time into the core mechanics I could see something really special, there's a lot of potential!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! We are integrating a lot of what we've heard - including camera enhancements - for a post-jam update. Greatly appreciate you taking the time to play and comment!

Nice art and cool concept here! I enjoyed playing but the camera could do a little more working. Not sure if others have pointed out here but the camera should be able to see the platform below when the player is jumping really high. Else it would be a blind landing and would not be a good thing if he ended up land on enemies. Other than that, this is a nice game. Cheers!

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to play and share your observations! There has been a fair amount of commentary on the camera and we are working on post-jam improvements. Thanks again!
