Pretty lovely game, loved the shop after resetting, made it easier to get back to the main boss and see how much you progressed! goodjob!

Developer

Thank you for your kind words, I am happy you liked the shop system in the game!

You did fantastic work here, your bosses were really well designed, being sent back a boss serves as a mercy to get some funds to buy more swords or shields. And seeing a boss' health melt as they get into your zone of influence is delicious.

Thank you for playing! I’m happy you liked the boss design in my game :)

Fun game! I liked how, at some point, I stacked so many swords that I was unbelivably strong. The time-stop mechanic was top tier for me.

Really solid entry. I would add some way to heal myself up, and some way to be able to dodge..

Nonetheless, great game!

Developer

Thanks for playing, I think a heal and a dodge would have definitely added to the game. Perhaps the healing could have come from an additional item in the shop as a shield, since there’s only really one shield available in the shop at all times, so I think it would have been a good idea!

I really enjoyed playing this game! It was very satisfying to beat the first bosses at full speed once you'd improved your build a bit :D

And it's great to fight bosses that add up, even if at the end the screen is so overloaded with elements that it's hard to know what you're doing xD

I also really liked the little hourglasses that stop time when you break them.

Anyway! A lot of good things in this game :D Bravo !

Developer

Thank you for playing, I am glad you appreciated the time stop mechanic of the game and enjoyed it!

super cool game. I love that you keep the upgrades when you restart, it feels like even when you lose you make progress and then you can kinda keep scaling. I think if the swords kept scaling past 3 rings i would have played for another 30 min just to see how far i could get eventually haaha. Great job!

Developer

Thank you for playing the game, and I am happy that you enjoyed getting more and more upgrades!

Wow!  Making the player keep their upgrades after dying is an amazing design choice since it makes dying less punishing and gives them a higher chance of completing the game.  The bosses aren't too complicated and makes for a fun experience.  Very nice work!

Thank you for playing! I am glad you thought the upgrade system in the game was designed well!

I was very thankful for the way you handled death and retaining ability. I struggled but gave me motivation to keep on going as the more I played the closer I got to the level of difficulty for me. I think this is a great idea for a game jam context. I also really liked the tornado boss attack patterns.

Developer

Thank you for playing, I am glad that despite the initial struggle you still enjoyed the game!

This game is awesome, it was pretty difficult, but once I figured out the patterns it was awesome.

I think this game's approach to boss rush difficulty progression absolutely brilliant. The ability to regain the abilities you've built up over every attempt and getting stronger while learning the boss' abilities more and more makes for a superbly satisfying progression that's still fully in the soul of what a true boss rush would be. With all projectiles in screen it honestly felt like the biggest enemy in the game was spacing, which as a consistent obstacle for all the boss fights really helped put me in the zone while blasting through these boss fights. The more I played the more cognizant I became of where I was standing and every other object around me. The one critique I could levy is that it feels very pointless to hold the mouse button for your weapons to spin, I just don't see a point to it considering there's no stamina system. I think the game would be a lot more dynamic if you just had the player's weapons perpetually spinning around them. Other than that though really excellent work here!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I am glad you appreciated the progression system of my game! I agree with you that the player’s attack, which is spinning the weapons, is not very useful and I think it’s one of the mistakes I made when making this game. My idea was that you would walk slower while spinning the weapons around, so that either you would be dodging or attacking. However, I think if I made it more impactful it would be better for the game and I will take note of this for my future game endeavors, thank you!
