Game's Take on the Theme
If you stop spinning, you die ! If you don't spin you can't move ! Hold your corporated left-mouse button to spin ! But beware. Centrifugal force will throw you into our corporates walls, The faster you spin, the harder to aim your dash ! The slower you spin, the closer is death !

Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
We did everything

Great visuals and great controls! My hand got a bit cramped having to hold onto the controls after a bit, but perhaps that reflects how much we suffer in corporate hell. Congrats on submitting!

Extremely impressive art and animations across the board. I loved finding new details everywhere I looked. It was a struggle at first getting the dash to go where I wanted it to and having to hold down an input to keep the character alive was a bit taxing, but it was rewarding to get the hang of it. Excellent stuff!

very good concept and animations, you had a great idea !  The shark level drove me crazy but it's exactly the kind of game in which you'll start over and over again because you want to get to the end gg guys!

I loved the idea of the lore and the setting, also the character being a human beyblade rotating in its chair xD

It's easy to find what to do for each boss, it just took me a while in the second one to realize that the dash could break the desks, but it was very satisfying when it came out by accident!

The animations are great and the end of the story was a good plot twist! very cool game!

Super fun

Super polished visuals and I love the main character spinning in his chair! I'm not sure if I understood the dash mechanic, it just seemed to slow down time for me. Is that correct?

Developer

Thanks a lot !

The dash slows down time for all entities in the fight, and when you release the dash button, your character executes the dash (and depending on the mode, the target of the dash changes, in the direction you’re pointing in intern mode and depending to the arrow (that appears during the dash) for manager mode).

Super cool! That makes a lot more sense now. Would love for you to check out our submission if you have the chance :)

Developer(+1)

Yes, with pleasure, I must admit I look at a lot of them and I just hadn’t checked on yours yet :x

I’m watching right now!

Very fun game! I love the Helltaker-esq style a lot and the bosses were super creative! Extra style points for the backrooms meme in the screenshots lmao

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We did very little on the bosses concept arts, considering the time we had. That's why we've been joined by MoeBae who did an awesome job by drawing two of them in like... an hour. She got some serious superpowers.

Also, the comparison to Helltaker goes straight to our hearts, thanks again!

The Shark gets me every time! Super fun game, and a great use of the jam’s theme. The controls feel quite challenging, though - maybe a bit of tweaking could make movement smoother?

Nice touch with the "Stonks" and "Shut up and take my money" memes! They really added to the humor.

Loving the guitar riffs! They give me good old-school metalcore/death metal vibes, which is awesome. However, they were a bit too quiet and could use better mixing to really punch through. If you ever want help with that, I’d be happy to assist!

Overall, a super entertaining entry. Well done!

Awesome dude! Really cool design!

Like the idea and great animations.

The games art is a 5/5, really great job on that, I also enjoyed the mechanic, unfortunately the second boss was a bit hard to beat with only one hit to live. Very nice though !

The game is blowing my mind out! It's so creative and unique! I was also surprised that the team did not know any unity before! Well done! I have so much fun.

Thank you so much!

Yes, this is my first Unity project and I literally learned it by using Unity during the jam.

Fun-fact, sometimes we had some situation like this:

Artists : “Can we do X/Y?”

Me : “Idk i must look :x”

Submitted(+2)

That's a really cool idea. Graphics are amazing.

Lovely art, creative gameplay, would love a version with blood and gore esp vs the crowd! good job!

Submitted(+2)

This game was really fun. It looks amazing and the entire game is really fun. I had a lot of fun. The art and the bosses are well made. Good Job.

This game looks great! The first bit with the brick was odd, I seemed to just be barraged with mobs instead of fighting a boss, I think I need to play more. The spin charge UI takes up a bit too much space imo but it's not a big deal. Awesome stuff!

also, why 12 gigs??? are there that many animations?

Developer(+2)

yes there is a lot of animation if you did try all the bosses, but also because the dumb artist that I am had the great idea to make sprite sheets and animations in 6000x6000 pixels, and we found out that it was too much wayyy to late in the process. "changing more than 2400 assets would have been hell" said the dev

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot!

But yes, as FlashedDemon said, in some cases the assets are 6000x6000 and there are ~2300 sprites, which doesn’t help Unity not to produce a huge game :c

On top of that it’s my first Unity project, we literally learned it during the jam so I’ve probably done a lot of things wrong on the assets side that have an impact on the weight of the game :c

It’s one of the items on my todo list to force our game to go on a diet :x

The brick is my favorite character

Developer(+2)

The brick boss giving the face to the employees who sold the cement actions at a too low price :  🗿

Developer(+1)

-We need something immovable for the first boss, like a brick !
-Brick you said ?

Submitted(+2)

loved it even if I didn't manage to beat then first floor lol. I love the theme being more than skin deep and I'm pleased to announce that the Mac version appears to work as I encountered no issues form what I played (which wasn't much). to any Mac users you need to allow it to launch from privacy and security in the menus.

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you so much!

Did you have trouble with the first boss, even with the bumpers? :c

And it’s great that the mac version works, but I have to admit that I didn’t have a mac to test :c (unless I’d kidnapped one at work :x).

But yes, I still wanted to release the game for the 3 main platforms as well as the web version!

Submitted(+1)

na man it was the first floor I didn’t even get past all the people lol, purely a skill issue! I’ll try again tonight
