The visuals were stunning and the spin after death mechanic is a nice take on the theme. The transition between states (attacking and dodging) takes a while though and sometimes I'd find myself stuck in default pose. Overall very fun game, would love to see a full, polished release after the jam.

Very nice game

Excellent graphics. You can look at my game

The ‘wheel of fortune’ mechanism for reviving is pretty fun! Well done!

Another comment in bulk: when you restart (after loosing), the volume resets to its default value (50%).

Great use of the theme and overall exciting game!

I like the art style, though the controls are a bit stiff. Maybe add a multiplier the longer you spin to deal more damage

Developer

Thanks for playing and sharing your thoughts!

The concept is really fun and has good potential.

The graphic style is perfect for the gameplay.

Good job!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!

This game definitely took me on a fever dream.  From the wacky characters to fighting a barrel with saw hands using humanoid animations, I definitely had a fun and unique experience from this one!  The gameplay itself felt a little unpolished, but overall, this game had a lot of charm that I love!  Good stuff haha

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! 'Fever dream' is such a perfect way to describe what we were going for with the wacky characters and that saw-handed barrel boss!

We definitely agree about the gameplay polish - there's room for improvement there.

And thanks for giving our game a try!

You absolutely nailed the theme! There is a TON of spinning in this game. The "wheel of death" is a cool mechanic that I want to see expanded on. It adds a bit of tension, but it would be neat if your odds of dying got greater each time.

I ran into some issues with the gameplay, though. The boss ran away and fell off the level for a bit (he did reappear, though!) I also got into a situation where 2 machineguns were shooting me, and I couldn't attack without taking damage.

That said, I liked the phases of the boss.  I wasn't expecting the last one, and it made me panic a bit.

Great job!

Developer

Thank you for such thoughtful feedback! Love your idea about increasing the stakes with the wheel of death mechanic - making the odds more dangerous each time would definitely add even more tension!

Sorry about those gameplay hiccups with the boss falling off and the tricky machinegun situation. We'll look into fixing those to make the combat feel more fair and balanced.

Really happy you enjoyed the boss phases and that the final one gave you that panic moment - that's exactly what we were hoping for!

I chose to play this game initially because of your unique art style, once I was greeted to your quirky title screen I was excited to try your game out.  After a strong start, the first thing I noticed when hitting start was the wall of text which put a slight damper on my excitement.  I think it would've been a bit more fun as the player to get to play though a tutorial before entering the fight with the boss instead of reading how to play.

Regardless, I was pleased to see that my masked muscular friend's weapon of choice was the good ole spike ball and chain. It was fun to see this guy swing around this weapon like it was a toy. Although muscle man was having an easy time with the weapons, I unfortunately was not. The controls felt clunky. The animations didn't feel quite right on the left click attack. Also the boss's attack hitboxes were unclear. I ended up opting in to use the right click throw attack and run away from the boss which worked out great for me.

After defeating the barrel demon, I was pleased to be greeted with a fun ending title scene of our protagonist eating the yummy meal he deserved.

I think the idea is there,  I would love to see more time spent on tightening up the controls and animation, which is so important for an action game like this.

Developer

Thank you so much for such comprehensive feedback! Really appreciate you noticing all the details - from the art style to the title screen and ending scene.

Your point about replacing the text wall with an interactive tutorial is super valuable - it would definitely make for a more engaging learning experience. And thank you for the detailed observations about the controls and hitboxes - especially the difference between the left-click attack animations and the throw mechanic.

We agree that tighter controls and clearer animations are crucial for action games. These are exactly the kind of improvements we'd love to implement to make the gameplay feel more satisfying.

Also happy to hear you enjoyed our muscular friend's victory meal at the end! We took inspiration from monster hunter XD! Thanks for taking the time to play through and provide such constructive feedback!

Very stupid but lovely universe I like it a lot!

Character is a bit too hard to control, I feel like it should be easier to damage the boss, my range seems strengely too small.

I like the boss design it's actually very good, it feels like a complete video game boss, well done!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and for your detailed feedback! Really happy you enjoyed our silly little universe!

We'll definitely look into making the controls feel smoother and adjusting the attack range to be more satisfying.

Really glad you liked the boss design! We put a lot of effort into making it feel like a proper video game boss battle. Thanks for the kind words!

Very good art direction on this one, either inside the game and in the itch page. very beautiful!

From the game itself, I struggled a little bit with the camera and with the dodge mechanic, I don't know if it was skill issue or not, but I only could roll forward...

Besides that, as other mentioned, the death roulette as definitely a surprise for me, specially because i usually take a lot of tries before I finally kill the boss xD

Great game

Developer

Hi thank you for playing our game! We will definitely spend more time on the control for the next submission!

Such a pleasant surprise to see the wheel that I will now call " A chance for noobs" as I am xD

This game gave me HellPie vibes, which i loved ! Maybe the controls are a bit slow, I would have increased the dodge roll speed. But very good submission, GG to the whole team !!

Developer

Thank you for playing and the advice, we will definitely spend more time on the control in the next submission and keep improving!

Really well done game! I loved throwing the ball at the boss and the wheel after you died was a nice unexpected surprise. Congratulations!

Developer

Thank you so much for checking out our game!

Really well made game! Good use of the theme. Could've use a little more juice especially around responsive to getting hit / hitting the enemy

Developer

that's a great point about making hits feel more impactful. Will definitely keep this in mind for future updates!

A totally wild game, but really well-made! I was pleasantly surprised by the post-death roulette for a chance to continue—though luck wasn’t on my side.  One suggestion: tying the dodge roll to movement direction instead of camera direction would make it much smoother and more intuitive. Overall, I had a great time! Awesome job! (+The music is super fun!)

Developer

Thank you so much for your detailed feedback! Really glad you enjoyed the game! And Thank you for the suggestion about the dodge roll mechanics - that's a great point about making it more intuitive with movement direction. And I'm happy you enjoyed the music too! Thanks for taking the time to play.

liked the art very much. the barrel had very good animations. I would like if there was a setting where I could adjust the mouse sensitivity. the main attack was a little bit clunky.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! We will be sure to add this feature!

I loved the second chance mechanic and the style of the game, congrats!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! And nice to meet you!

Loved the models and the animations! The credits scene and the intro were really good animated too, love the charisma of the main character lmao. Also loved the use of the theme when you were about to die giving you a second chance, great for a jam! Cheers :D

Developer

Thank you so much! Before the submission, our modeler was having fun making the credit scene! I'm so glad you noticed that and liked it!
