Game's Take on the Theme
The boss (a spider) spins webs. Also the machine gun spins to shoot bullets as well as the wheels which spin to make the rover drive.

The visuals are awesome, the cartoon shading is nice really, and puts us a lot into this ambient, so well made, the music is nice too, the mechanics are effective just I would advice the aim is not always being redirected to the car direction, I mean its good as is, but the other way could be better, or maybe its just me, I rate graphics, control, fun and music the most, all is great really, also, if you have some time, please, rate my game too, thanks!!!

Love the toon shader with outlines of the game, it kinda also gives me lethal company vibes. Gameplay is nice, but the camera is very dizzy, I try drive away from the boss so that is behind me, all while shooting it, but the camera wants to snap back to always looking forward at the same instant it isn't looking forward so I can't land my shots.

The music is prety neat and so are the SFX, I'd say if you want to grow this game to make the camera be free mode and add a hotkey to snap the camera to look forwards if the player wants. Overall, neat game with lovely visuals.

Incredibly beautiful shader and graphics overall! But the controls feel a bit jerky since the gun constantly turns in the direction of the car’s movement. Also, the boss HP bar should’ve been placed on the UI layer instead of the skybox, but that’s just a visual nitpick. I really liked the different firing modes for the gun — personally, rockets felt easier to use, but that depends on playstyle. All in all, great work! :)

I love the shader you used here it looks SO cool, I'm definitely gonna have to try my hand at something like this the next time I make a 3D game it's just so visually striking. As for the game itself, I found the camera really interesting to mess around with but I did run into this problem quite a few times where I'd tip over and land on my back which would pretty much instant forfeit the fight. Slopes in unity are very messy and very tricky so I think is just a result of that. I'd honestly stray away from slopes like 99% of the time unless you have a way to consistently make the work and that tends to be tough to do

I liked the art and the music, but the camera movement was weird because I really couldn’t shoot correctly at the direction I wanted to, cool concept.

Nice visuals and 3D modeling. Cool music and SFX. Aiming is a bit weird mainly if the spider is at the top of the arena, would be better if the camera goes to a place closer to the gun when aiming so the vehicle won't stay in front of it. Sometimes the UI stays behind of the building. Good project! :)

A beautiful game :D

However, I was a little taken aback when you had to shoot the spider a long way from you, and quickly got stuck when the spider was right on top of you and you simply couldn't get away. In short, it's got great potential if you fine-tune the gameplay a little!

This game is beautiful! I think that if you make the bullets faster, improve the camera control, and keep the boss HP bar always on screen, it would be even better. I enjoyed playing it anyway! :D 🌻

the Shader is one of the best i would recommend adding some waviness to the edges to provide more hand drawn look!!

This is a very cool looking game. I really wanted to like it more, and for there to be more, but the controls make it hard to really appreciate. The issue is one part boss design and one part controls.

- The rover has a gun that shoots where you look. You can drive in a different direction to where you're looking. There's a big monster you have to shoot and avoid at the same time. A good start.

- The shooting is at it's worst when you have to aim upward, which would be fine if the boss weren't spending most of its time above you, which it is. Additionally, there's no tension while the boss is up there - you're just waiting around for it to come down, so you can shoot it.

- The bullets take time to travel, meaning you have to lead your shots. This would be fine if the boss were spending most of its time near you, however, most of the time it's extremely far away, making leading near impossible.

- The best time to shoot the boss is when it's chasing you, meaning you need to drive away and shoot. This would be fine, however: If you drive while you're shooting, the camera tries to look where you're moving, meaning you have to wrestle against the controls to get your shots in.

- Your only way of dodging any attack is to drive away. The boss' only attack is to walk on top of you. This doesn't really work in practice, as the boss is either chasing you and you can easily outrun it, or it's already on top of you and you just have to wait until it kills you, you kill it, or it decides to stop.

There is a kind of boss where this exact setup works. One that you have to chase around (so you can shoot where the camera wants to point), that attacks with slow moving projectiles (you drive around to avoid them), and one that stays on the same level or close to, so you don't have to aim up or down too far to shoot it.

There is a kind of handling setup where this kind of boss works, one with better long-range attack capability, better aiming angles, a gyroscopic camera, and more options for dealing with a melee boss that you need to avoid

The best part of this game is its visuals, and I liked the sound as well.

cool game, camera angle is a little rough and its hard to tell where you bullets are going. Art is super pretty though especially the rover. Love the choice of style

The game colors really reminds that you are on Mars, the spider took a while to get down and when I got stuck behind her, I just spammed R to be on top of her and kept shooting hahaha. It would be nice if the spider's health was always at the top level of the layer, because it was getting behind the arena sometimes. An option to change the mouse sensitivity would be good too. After victory or defeat, the cursor disappears, so I'm stuck in that screen. You could make shortcuts for the button (like pressing Enter would activate the button) or just make the cursor not disappear. Nice job!

my mouse sensitivity made it really hard to play the game but after turning over and laying flat on the ground i managed to kill the spider without being able to move anymore. was fun anyways and the artstyle is just awesome,

maybe you should fix that you dont have a mouse anymore after victory or gameover lol

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, after the jam I will definitely fix the cursor disappearing. Also, I forgot to mention this in the controls but if you press r, your car will flip back over.
