Game's Take on the Theme
The gameplay focuses on spinning a generator crank to charge up electrical orb attack that can blast through enemies. The game has a voice-acted short narrative and players can spin their pencil to select dialogue choices, where the choices will affect the bossess that the players will fight. Through this spin dialogue selection, players are given the agency to decide their boss fight experience, offering variety and replayability in the fights.

Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?

Very cool concept and at the same time very stylish execution! I really liked the visuals, they're insanely pleasant! The idea with the choice of phrases is just hilarious))) Great job!

This game is so unbelievably creative, letting the player customize the boss is not only an immaculate idea but also really hard to implement I imagine. The gameplay is also pretty fun, but it feels like it lacks nuance, even though the gimmick is awesome, it can get a bit repetitive just dodging and shooting up.

Overall, a REALLY cool game, good job!

I absolutely adore the setting of this game where you are a drawing, which is up against a super villain drawing. Then, after defeating them in each iteration, the super villain gets imagined with an additional power (That you could choose!), which I found quite creative and interesting. Only one thing that I would mention is that after playing the game, I realize I totally forgot about the dash feature. Personally however, I think the dash feature is totally unneeded anyway and it did not impact the gameplay at all. Good job on this game!

What a creative idea! I have yet to see voice acting in this jam. I love the hand-drawn elements and game-play mechanics. I think it would have been cool since you cut the final boss fight to have it "half drawn" and then maybe the kids have to go to school so it was to be continued...

This was very entertaining! My arm had a good workout furiously rotating RS haha! Definitely one of the more unique art styles I've seen so far. I managed to beat the alien + laser + minions, but I sort of cheesed through the 'final' one - I was able to continue the game even when my health dropped to 0. Probably a bug you guys can look into. Overall, really enjoyed it! Congrats on a game well made!

Developer(+1)

Haha I can definitely sympathize with your arm workout. It happens quite a lot during our development. The 0 health thing is a known bug but since the submission is locked we can only pray it doesn't affect the experience too much.

Your game is magnificent, the voice acting is perfect, I loved the whole concept behind it. The art of the game is something very striking, and the choices give a feeling that we are in control of the game, I loved it so much. Congratulations on your game.

Wow, what a good game, I even loved the dubbing, I had a lot of fun here

I loved the overall theming for this. I found the controls actually quite easy to use as was worried during the tutorial there was a bit too much going on. I think the dash needed a bit more love but the overall experience was great.

oh man this was Beautiful, kind of nostalgic of when we were kids and there was no internet LOL, simply LOVED IT!

Amazing use of the Spin theme, Voice acting 10/10, cute graphics, the choose your monster and their power spin the pencil SO GOOD, Congratulation on the amazing game.

Glad you liked it! We came up with this idea without the spin theme, then later integrate little bits of element here and there for this game jam.

This sounds like an ambitious and exciting game!

This art style is really unique and I love it. The way that you can customize the boss is also innovative. You guys are super creative and I'm always happy to find gems like these in jams that really try to push the envelope. One nitpick is that there's no visual feedback for the dash, you just teleport across the screen, I wasn't sure if that was supposed to happen. Keep it up guys.

"Woaahw!" I bet this is the cutest one I've played so far ! Love the sheetdraw idea, and the mouse gimmick ! Maybe this need a little bit more balancing, but hey that was fun enough to make me comment :) (And I agree with MegaStrimp, we need cutscene skip!!)

Submitted

The controls are nice and I like the main gimmick of spinning your mouse.  You should add an option to skip cutscenes in the future. Great job overall!

Developer(+1)

Thx for playing! Yeah I can definitely see why people would want a skip cutscene thing. It's a feature I planned to add but eventually scrapped due to time constraint

Submitted

That is a interessting concept!

Loved the voice acting! Loved that the small rocks would bounce up, that added some extra difficulty. However the mouse spinning is a bit problematic on my multi monitor setup quite often the mouse movement was not registered because the pointer was on another screen, I guess you need to add some mouse capture. At some point I got invincible as the collision stopped working so I could play to end with no effort. I also liked the idea that the damage scaled over collision time.

To bad the final boss was not implemented but I thats fair, I could not finish mine too.

Good job!

Developer (1 edit)

Thx for the review! Uh oh I got the collision glitch too. Apparently I can't stably replicate the issue. I think it has something to do with the browser build? I can only hope it isn't an issue that happens often

Submitted

I am not sure how to replicate it either. I think I was dashing before it happend, but not 100% sure. But yes, I was using the browser build (I prefer that if available, probably most people will).
