Really beatiful card game, so we fall in love with art

Submitted(+1)

Nice game. It took me a while to figure out what the buttons did on the ritual, the incantation, etc... I think a simple puzzle to start that has a bit of a tutorial (or something) on how the switches work would've been nice. I almost gave up but then hit the button and saw it changed. I originally thought I had to deal the cards into the slots in a specific order, I didn't even know I could change them!

Once I got it though. Really cool game. I liked the puzzle idea. It did make me think what other requests the creature behind the door could make? Is there a way to make more levels?

Nice work though. And I loved the atmosphere.

Art style and sound design are top notch. The gothic puzzle atmosphere has a nice vibe. I agree with EmberByte, I think I would have gotten the hang of this if I had first been given two cards, then three, then four etc over the course of several puzzles. Some feedback on screen as to whether I've done something good would be helpful as well. Great job working with the theme of the jam as well.

Really cool game, at the beginning i didn't know what i was doing.

If you have time check out my game.

Hell yeah

The visuals were really nice, and I actually had fun trying to solve some of the riddles!

Kudos to the door entity for having so much patience. The atmosphere was great and the music helped to set the mood. I wish there was a way to quickly start the next attempt as I knew I was failing most of the time. Interesting brain twister!

Love the art and animation
Gameplay wise I feel it's kinda obtuse and not that compelling
Imo there should be fail animations that hint at what you are doing wrong
I think this probably should have been a multi step ritual (where you first start with 3 cards then 4 and 5) to ramp up the difficulty and explore a bit of the design space here.

I really loved the artstyle and the sounds!

wasnt really a game that "talked" to me but still very well done!

Great game!

The art style of the game is really great. I like the demon / ritualistic vibes it has. The cards designs are the best part though. They look neat and fit really well with the rest of the aesthetics. I feel like I'm lookin at some cursed cards, or a cursed tarot deck or something like that. Loved them. The audio design is good too. For some reason I was entranced by the chant SFX, couldn't stop playing it lmao.

I have to agree with others that the rules are not clear from the start. Hadn't I read that you need to keep "one thing the same and another different" I would have never guessed it. I guess more hints about that would be great. This is important because it's the basis of everything else but it's the most obscure part. The rest you can deduce yourself really. I didn't realize the ritual was changing in order of size, but I did realize that it followed a certain order, and knowing what each section does is not hard. But yeah, without that initial hint of what is my objective I was just switching stuff around.

Really great idea though and loved playing your game!

Thanks for the feedback, in retrospect I definitely should've focused more on finding ways to work solution hints into the main gamescreen.

the rules were not clear... tho i love the art

Developer

Sorry to hear that, I've updated the full spoiler to be a bit more explicit and give examples.

Submitted(+1)

Didn't understand the rules. Art is really awesome same for the music. Maybe if you could show an example of a good solution in the hints of the page could give it an other try.

Developer(+1)

Thanks the the suggestion! I've added examples to the full spoiler.

Nice thank you! Checking it

Nice card game!

Submitted(+1)

The cards are well designed, good job :)

Art style is fit together with the background music. I play this game feel like play with rubix, try to remember the level and animal in card.

Maybe you try public the convert of the card for more easy.

P/S: it take my time : 1hours to find all case

Developer

Thanks for playing, and for the feedback :)

Very cool art style and good (spooky) feeling in general.

I know the game is about discovery and us trying combinations, but maybe you could add a spoilers part by adding in a details section, which needs to be toggled by the user (with activated HTML).

<details>

Solution (Spoiler)

Your solution/hidden explanations

Developer

This is an excellent suggestion, I've updated the description with a few hints and an outright solution, hope they help :)

Thanks, for adding the spoiler section. In hind sight those make total sense :D

Hmm I tried a bunch of combinations but my offer does not appease. Art style is cool and sound effects were great. Tutorial or more help text could have helped! Great job though

Developer

Just checked the math, there ~140,000 possible combinations so I don't fancy your chances of brute forcing it, but the clues at the start of each go should help get you on the right track...

Making a tutorial would have been great, because I have no idea what I am supposed to do.

Developer

Sorry you had a bad time, the idea was to make learning to play a part of the game so there's not much we could put in a tutorial without spoiling the fun, all of the interaction is clicking and dragging and everything you need to interact with should be clearly visible.
