I love how when he says he dies to the water 3 times and he's still alive.
I love the art style, quite possibly the most polished game I've played so far. Very well done!
Thanks, Rust!
Great short story, visual storytelling is excellent and also really funny!! Everything a game jam jammed game should ever be.
Amazing work, keep it up!
HAHAHAH loved it.
Great game, very nice mini-games in a unique atmosphere => I like it a lot ! 😁👌
Thanks, Arcade Eleven!
Storytelling and humor at its best!
Thanks, a_leontiev! I loved your game. Great sense of weather, pacing. Picking up a variety of shiny treasures off the shore felt great. :)
Like the others, I really like the storytelling. Overall iIt really feels like a nice and unique experience.
And the S.S Minimum effort... awesome !
Appreciate the kind words, HoMyPants!
It's really good! Short and fun story, making you smile all the way. Good job!
I have one small suggestion - probably you could use wasd instead of arrows, it could be more convenient (but it's just a suggestion).
Thanks, mora!
WASD and arrow keys both work in the game. Though having the key hints show WASD might be more familiar. Thanks for the feedback!
Some games really let you feel the heart and soul of the dev behind them, and this is definitely one of those. The passion for every little detail, and the fun you clearly had making it, shines through. It’s obvious how much you love video games. Big props for packing so many different games into one — that was a super cool surprise I didn’t see coming!
That's very kind of you to say! Shinbone (a.k.a. MisuseOfMana) and I had a blast hanging out throwing together assets and hacking together game mechanics. There was lots of laughter, improv, and a very smooth flow of collaboration.
By the way, I played your game and I'm super impressed. Playing the game, I felt like I was in Mad Max! Super curious about how you accomplished the sandstorm effects. :)
It shows! <3
As for the Sandstorm...well we have unicorn in a team. A coder with an amazing eye for art. Hit him up, his name is Simeon and he will give you the details.
The Mad Max vibe was what we were going for. Btw, the lead singer of that song is my brother :)
The song was rad! Fit the vibe quite nicely!
<3
The seagull section was tough, but I loved the ending! It was very creative—well done. It's a really beautiful and sweet game. Seeing a similar type of game was also really cool, but you are definitely the better storyteller here. 🔥
Thank you for the kind words! I'm going to have to boot up my PC to play your game, currently on a mac and can't easily play the .exe
I think it's on me to not build webGL :D I’m excited to hear what you think! 😊
Wow, that was really cool ! I'm really amazed about how good you are as a storyteller. The art is awesome, it's a lot of fun and everything worked perfectly.
To be really a little picky, I would say that the controls on some mini games are not really straightforward (or maybe I'm dumb?). I'm thinking of the "water scooping" mini game which needed some times for me to realize that WASD keys were not gonna work ahah.
But really that was a wonderful game, very funny.
Thanks, Everbro! That's very flattering.
We had one play-tester and the most valuable feedback we got from that session was that the controls were not self-evident, especially because of the variety of control schemes. You don't really have a lot of time to adapt to new controls. So we added the button hints and made some of the challenges easier. Given more time, we'd definitely want to think about how the games build off each other to gradually teach you how the varied controls work.
Minigames are varied, the game is quite short and enjoyable. It's more of a calming experience really. Creating all this by yourself is inspiring. Congratulations!
I had no problems navigating through it, quite enjoyable. Loved the art and music. Very well done!
Beautiful art, with a very funny twist at the end, honestly didn't expect that xD.
The music might be a bit repetetive, and in the first minigame it's kind of unclear what to do at first. Once you press up, you can't really stop, can you? Well I figured it out anyway , after about three deaths xd.
But a very funny and innovative idea, great job!
Thank you! I wish your game had a Mac or web build so I could play it!
Ah, good point, forgot about the mac users :D
This was super fun, the art is incredible
Thanks, Krussy!
Fixed a game-breaking bug. Some files got jumbled as a result of some last minute changes. The game should work now.
Thanks for your interest!
Looking into it now. Thanks for letting us know
