there’s something that’s gonna haunt me tonight about this… experience.

I think this could be one hell of an entry point for a horror game. And in the most positive way possible. If whatever I was doing was the point of calm. Doesn’t matter if I was being a cashier on a sunday on Christmas Rush on retail, while the POS just rebooted or in a field full of puppies and a calm breeze.

You’re getting your storm here.

ok nevermind, the more time I let this marinate in my single (1) braincell the more I like this game. Take my full marks. I loved it way too much in probably the most unintended way possible. A lasting impression, indeed.

Super interesting take on our game, thank you! I can see how this could be made into a horror game with this style. I'm happy to hear it had such a profound effect on you!

Thanks for another comment! Very cool!

Congrats on the submission!
This is very nice, love your take with the theme! You are the first submission I see using Construct 3 very impressive ^^. In my first round, I didn't really know what to do, I missed many cues and everyone ended exploding :' ).
I hope you continue the project! Maybe with more "maps" ?  Could be very interesting ^^
Good luck on your next projects!

Thank you so much! Yeah, Construct isn't the biggest engine here. I think I've played only one in this jam that wasn't ours! :D

The goat!! This game is very unique and fun, top marks for both :D The first time I played the music wasn't a part that I had to fix and it played till the end and man what a symphony.. was that a Shepard tone?? Nevertheless, second time I knew what I had to do ;)

Developer(+1)

Awesome, thank you so much! The music is "Humoresque no. 7" by Antonin Dvorak. There's no Shepard tone - the music just speeds up the more annoyed the family members are, and the broken record loop speeds up, too! :D

that's a great design :D it works!

This game was such a chaotic and fun experience! I loved the way it built tension, and the art style really added to the atmosphere. It took me a while to figure out what to do, but once I got the hang of it, I was hooked. The frantic pace really fit the theme well. Great job!

Fun game, it wasn't that hard so it felt quite dull from time to time but otherwise pretty good!

Developer

Hm, some people have said it's too hard. Maybe it's the randomizer. Thanks!

Cool game! It was fun to play. The graphics and animations were great and felt like they really fit the game! It had the right amount of challenge so that it was hard but not too hard. Good job! :D

Thank you!

Very nice idea!

very hectic! really like the expression in animation, sort of reminded me of ace attorney, in that theres minimal player interaction, but the differences you do make cause the characters to react in a very over the top way. main gripe with it was that some of the queues were really hard to see. the son in law's change was hard to tell apart from his regular sprites. the also, thought it was a little too "real"? like hearing the baby crying + music speed up + so many other sounds was irritating in a way. im not sure if you meant for it to be stressful in that way, but if you did it worked really well lol. can be hard to achieve "high stress" without the stress feeling unpleasant, especially when it comes to audio. thanks for entering!

Developer

Good feedback, thank you! Yeah, it's meant to be stressful, but funny at the same time! :D

My first try was a bit chaotic, but in the next one, I managed to keep two of them alive, haha!

Loved how you turned out with this idea for the theme, congrats!

Crisp audio and a lot of personality in your characters - I'm impressed you managed this in a week!

That's a fun game, I read the description before playing so it was clear what to do from the start. I liked who dynamics changed and closer to the end it was pretty tricky to keep everyone calm. Great job!

I’ve had fun attempting to defuse the diners. I never even knew I missed point&click games from the past. The graphics was well done for what it is.

It was a little difficult to understand what was going on at first, and I didn’t realize the kid was shooting things at others until all family members perished except one.

Thank you!

Hey!

Quite unique and fun experience. It brings me back to my childhood point & click games. It's a bit hard to understand at first though, but I have no complaints other than that.

Solid entry. Well done!

Your game is really funny. Loved that the score is basically an amount of survivors (made me thinking of weird spinoff for Supermassive Games' works). Great job!

Wow love this a lot, the simplicity of the point and click mechanic and how it starts so peaceful but gets crazy fast is awesome.

Loved the increasing progression of difficulty over time.

The art and animations look spectacular in this and the mechanics are clean and work very well. Nice job on this game!

A very...stressful game (in a good way)

The artstyle is great, and the game is simple but intuitive once you get to know it (I finally managed to finish a run with all 6 surviving!)

The audio perfectly summarizes this game: pure chaos (and stress inducing)

Only thing, an in-game tutorial would've been nice, but I understand you didn't have much time for that.

Overall, a nice short game that does great at everything it wants to be. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! Yeah, tutorial would have been a great thing to add.

Fun game! Had no idea what to do the first go around until I read the walkthrough section. The visual style is unique and also slightly creepy? It's kind of fitting for the 'family that hates each other' setting. Nice work!

Thank you!

Loved the game, the theme fits very well

Awesome take on the theme. My team member had a kinda similar idea when we were brainstorming, it's cool to see someone else's execution of that! I like the art and especially like when they have the black spikey faces I see in the screenshots. I would've liked some more engaging gameplay than clicking on something being the resolution to everything, maybe like having to click and drag some objects or something to spice it up a bit idk. Great job on this, I managed to have all 6 guests survive the dinner on my first try.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!
