Took a little bit of time to get the idea, but pretty cool concept overall! Loved visuals a lot!

I think I understand that I have to have guards following me and then walk into enemies to fight them? Still did not save the king even once :D It's either too hard, I'm missing something or I'm just bad at it :D I like the sounds and music, even the visuals are nice. Just the gameplay is a bit confusing, maybe a tutorial might help?

Developer(+1)

Yeah, one of us got sick (typical gamejam ig) so the last days were a bit stressfull and both the level design and the tutorial didn't get the time they needed ^^'

Submitted

Would love to see it after the jam, I think the game has potential! :)

Good graphics, the player could move a bit faster I think, it feels a bit clunky right now.

Also I didn't really get how to protect the king, the enemies just pushed through the crystals and guards either way

Submitted

I liked the art style and the concept. Was a bit difficult to determine what to do after I placed my crystals. The monsters just seemed to stay in one spot or follow the same path. Overall I thought it was well put together, just need some clarity in the tutorial. Good work!! Congrats and good luck!

Nice take on a defense game. Liked the movement animation and graphics. I was unsure what to do to prepare for the fight.

The art and concept are very good. I love the graphics. It's fun

Thanks a lot! :)

I'd appreciate it if you could play my game and leave a review! Thanks!

Interesting concept, nice job!

Developer

Thank you! :)

The puzzle of setting up barricades and guards is interesting, but the way they follow you feels really clunky and makes it tough to put them where I want to. Would appreciate a reset button for when you wall yourself in.
I like the graphics. The characters kinda look like stickers.

Developer

Yeah! Stickers are probably quite similiar to what we had in mind. They are ment to be paper figurines for games like DND.... maybe I will use them for that one day.

The reset button would have been a simple solution for the wall-in... sadly had no time to implement a unbuild for the walls and dropped it. Should have thought of the reset as alternative :(

Thanks for playing!

Good art. The movement suits the character's art. The background art seems to be drawn in a different style. Both are good. but somehow the difference feels like it stands out more than the charm. The game is hard from the start :D. But of course, all of that is just my opinion. Good work nonetheless.

Developer(+1)

Well... all (or at least most!) oppinions are fine. And yours is no exception to that rule! Actually it doesn't even sound to much like negative feedback. The art difference between characters and background is partly intended tho, it's ment to resemble a board game with paper figurines. I guess some base for the characters might have made that clearer visually, maybe, maybe not.

Glad that you line the art and movement :)

It was challenging to figure out how to play, but the art was solid, although it felt like the styles didn't quite mesh well together.

Developer

Thank you a lot! Yeah, we mixed some styles... sometimes on purpose, sometimes through lack of time or communication

It was hard to figure out how to play.  The art was good but it didn't all look like it fit together.

This was rly fun to watch! ... Sadly the wise words of the king are not that wise.

Instead I will help you out:

The main problem in your runs was that you placed the crystals on the king. Which blocked the path of the enemies, forcing them to attack the barricades. Else they wouldn't! Unless you fully block all pathes to the king.

You can guide your guards, which will attack monsters on tiles nearby and lead the monsters through your crystals like in a tower defense. Maybe you find time to try it again...

p.s.  To relief your curiousity:

The art was done by Schnail and me. Schnail fully commited to art doing Ember, the ice monsters and the background assets.

I did the King, the guards, the ghosts and positioned the stuff in the map... basically everything inside of Godot... also taking over programming once our programmer fell out, because of sickness. Which leads to... Eric, who did the coding in the beginning and also the Music Track while the storm.

Good  art, also I like the movement, cool animation and aesthetics

Developer

Thank you a lot :)

Really loved the character art! The enemy movement seemed bugged for me, they just moved back and forth.

Developer

Interesting! ...but sad. They didn't try to kill the king?
Seems like for some reason godot makes the navigation different for everybody.

Works fine for me, but a friend also had issues :(

I like the graphics!

Thanks!

Surprisingly so many developers using Godot this Jam, and you guys making HUGE now. I love the great unique art style, the UI is like a real game. Good job guys!

After brackes "return for godot" I guess he got quite some new godot followers. And despite unitys drawback the rebellion is still alive!

Thank you a lot... I did the art together with a very talented artist. I'm sure he will be glad to hear! :)

Cool game, controls are a little clunky but art is nice!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, one of us called sick and we had to rush a bit...

Submitted(+1)

Hi, hope you had a blast during the jam. Didn't like the movement to much but the rest of the game was cool. Maybe if the movement was based on the storm timer decreasing it would make more sense. but now you just spam and try to move as quickly as possible. But overall good game! :)

Try Tornad.io aswell and leave a comment about what you think about it! :)
