How does your game fit the theme?
Our intention was to create a calm atmosphere until the moment the player moved, whereupon the storm would happen literally. The player moveset escalates over time as well.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
We made use of two font assets that are free for public use. Those being the PlayerMono font and Citizen Slab font.

The sounds and the artstyle were awesome! REALLY loved the music! Awesome job! I do wish a little that the map stays static instead of randomly generated I think. It felt frustrating that sometimes it seemed like I was getting worse since I wasn't progressing further, but it was also interesting to see previous sections I had traversed easily with double jump be hard the next time without doublejump. But I do think muscle memory would make this game a lot more fun and rewarding! I loved it a lot though, got quite addicted. I will definitely try to beat it for real after the jam!

My thoughts on this would be maybe have a little bit of grace unless you want to make this a frustrating type of game

Good work on this! The movement is fun, and the music and graphics rule :D I do wish that either there were checkpoints or that you kept your power-ups after death. It's a little annoying to be tied down to 1 jump after having the freedom of 2. Overall, though, fun game! Nice job.

I really had a good time playing it! It is a solid platformer and the mechanics felt great, congrats!

Hey that's a very nice submission good job!

I played for a bit and here's what I can say, the "tides" feels a bit too quick, making each mistake very costly and losing the progression very easily. Instead of continually rising up, making it so you need to be extremely fast, maybe it could be slower or stay at the bottom of the screen for a bit before rising up. By doing so, it would allow the player to acknowledge the danger and act accordingly. Let me know what you think :P

For the rest, I think the movements are good! The platforms often blend with the lighthouse (white on white), even with the checker pattern, it's often difficult to clearly see the nuances. This could be fixed by adding a slight overlay or border to the texture ^^

Good job on the game it looks promising, are you planning on continuing it after the jam?

Tried playing but WASD or arrow keys didnt work? Idk what's going on but I just couldn't play...

I found this game very difficult. some of the jumps are too tight. also the storm is kinda hard to see. But otherwise very cool game. Good job

Challenging game, nice job on this the visuals, audio and atmosphere are really well done! Not only that but it looked to me like the game was  a bit different each time you played it, that's really awesome! Gaining abilities like the double jump and wall jump added to the game, (especially that it might be different when you can get these each playthrough) and the variety of level layout was much appreciated, really nice job on this game!

I think to improve it (but this can be hard to get in the time limit of the jam) is that maybe a high score and even a small online leaderboard could keep people exceited to play it, but I didn't finish this for my submission either, and the core mechanics are really well done and that might be more important - excellent game!

The game was really hard from the start, I wish it was more forgiving :x It could use more playtest. Apart from that, it’s not a bad entry, I liked to have different level designs as I respawned.

good game, the starting animation is so cool ! but unfortunately  I suck at platform game  so i didnt go further than double jump XD

this was was super fun, I like the power up things, they kept adding new stuff at just the right times before it got repetitive. I did get stuck with the wall jump through where it kept snapping me to the sides of a chute so I couldn't get out onto the platform.

Very stellar gameplay you were able to make here! The rush to make sometimes precise jumps to progress upwards with the encroaching sea level below makes for a game that I can find myself motivated to improve by recognizing level templates and making various types of jumps. It feels rewarding to leave the water levels in the dust when you know one slip-up putting you back on pace with it. The soundtrack chosen fits the adrenaline rush in a sea setting so well, too.

There are various points of criticism that propped up, though.

The most apparent is the lack of contrast between the lighthouse and platforms. Both have large portions of similar whites that can make distinguishing platform edges difficult. This is especially apparent for platform textures that seem to be randomly stretched.

Second, the jumping sound effect , while soothed by the background music, is inherently grainy to the ears, which is worsened when every jump emits that sound.

Third, the jagged stair edges under the ledges of platforms often stopped my jumps even though they feel like they shouldn't.

Fourth, the randomly generated layouts can occasionally impossible jumps, abruptly ending the run without the player's input.

And finally, the player apparently isn't given any room to adjust to the basic platforming controls before indulging into the ascending gameplay. This is very apparent for new players who will need to figure out this specific platformer's rules and mechanics before delving into the main gameplay.

I really liked the music and I think the gameplay feels super good. I also really liked that you unlock skills as you go up, it makes you feel the progress of the game, and it is also very challenging.

But maybe I would have added some checkpoints for the less skilled like me haha.

excellent work! :D

This is a very nice game, and I really liked how fast paced you made the gameplay! My only complaint would be that some of the jumps are too tight, and can just end your run instantly if you miss them, which does kind of suck, but with a few fixes, this would be a pretty solid game! Keep up the good work!

Love the game.. maybe as a comment... the storm need to be a little more visible in the game.. could be when the water rises then the storm could be show and then go back in the background..

would love some feedback on my game also

Really nice game, the animations, art and audio fit nicely together.
If there are features that I'd like to see, they would be jump buffering or coyote time, those 2 can really make your platformer feel smoother.
Other than that, nice game!
