How does your game fit the theme?
There is a "calm" period to place down crops and buy upgrades before the "storm" where you fight your plants.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Everything was made by me except:

Nicely done!
Honestly this game was probably the most polished I played the entire jam!! The sounds, effects, animations, multiple types of enemies, an UPGRADE SYSTEM??? It had everything!!! I'm so impressed and this is such an amazing submission! At first though, I ran on the web player and the tomatoes were teleporting on my body and murdering me instantly. Also I think it felt a little counterintuitive that I felt like I had to avoid some of the bullet spread upgrades or else I would deal almost no damage to the boss. But wow he had attack patterns and everything this game was so awesome!! Really amazing work and I can't wait to play it again!
I probably should not have planted everywhere on first stage. Ended up too OP and one shot everything at every stage and bought every upgrade without a second thought lol. I absolutely shredded the boos within seconds. Most of the gameplay was waiting for all plants to spawn while holding left click and replanting everything for me which was not ideal.
I like new plants being introduced with staged, I wish more planters would be available like that too.
Very Cool!
I loved this concept! the waves got a bit easy after some time, but the boss got me :) good job!
I like the mix of strategy and roguelike, gives more flexible risk management though not as random which may be improved. Amazing game!
Fun game! Choosing your own enemy count is a very interesting mechanic. I do think the theme played a bit of a minor role in this one - there is a "calm" period in the game, but it's a somewhat typical calm period for most rogulike games. It would be nice if there was more gameplay focused around this phase of the game. That aside though, I had a lot of fun!
Pretty neat game. Only down side is that the enemies die too hard and gets annoying when there are so many. But still a cool game :)
Hope that you'll also play mine https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-12/rate/2973690
Very cool game! The crossover farming x roguelike is really awesome, it makes your game stand out. The overall execution was quite good, with nice graphics. Even though the game is already enjoyable, I would suggest 2 things to improve. 1) Add depth to the combat, maybe make enemies movement more interesting (right now i'm just running in circles and shooting). 2) Add some JUICE! Examples: enemies should flash white on impact, could be screen shakes when shooting, there could be big juicy explosions (every game needs tons of particles), that kind of stuff. If you need reference for these two points, look at Nuclear Throne, one of my fav games, which handles these two points greatly.
A great entry, keep it up!
-The music should change after the player picks the gun. It's too relaxing for a fight stage.
-Some typos on some" damage" text. It is written as "danage".
-There is a bug in the tutorial stage where if you plant the plants in soil other than the suggested one, the player will be unable to move.
-Lack of juice.
Still, good experience. I'm enjoying it.
This is really something new! You don't see games in which you decide how many enemies you will have to defeat...so I liked the originality!
Very solid roguelite/survivors type game. Loved the progression and upgrade system. Last boss was kinda tough. Great work!! Congrats and good luck!
very cool game, i love how i can choose the difficult, maybe one restock system will be a good idea
That was pretty fun! I liked the upgrades and the different plants, and the fact that I could affect the difficulty with my crop choices. Can't think of any constructive feedback right now.
Thanks for submitting your game to the stream! If you wanted to look at it again in the future heres the vod timestamped to your game
I like the risk/reward system in this game. The more plants you place, the more money you'll get. But at the same time, it'll be harder to fight off the plants because of the amount of them. Very well executed! one bit of feedback I have is to make the sound effect more impactful to really sell the "storm" part of the game. Right now, shooting the gun or hitting the enemies doesn't really feel that powerful due to how quiet the sounds are. However, I liked the pixel art. Good job!
the plants were the zombies all along
There are two gamers inside you: the one that wants tight, easy to learn but difficult to master gameplay; and the one that craves that beautiful, consistent experience with neat graphics, music, SFX and that stuff.
What if those two actually come together inside a gamedev, and make a game that’s tight, rewarding and consistently good?
Here you go.
Other than the bullet to enemy collision radios feeling like sometimes the bullets didn’t do shit… Or my stupid nitpick of having pixel art not follow their pixel grid when rotating (check the gun when it rotates, it’s like it rotates on the resolution of your screen and not the pixel art’s resolution. Dumb nitpick, not important.)
I have nothing else to say.
It’s fun. You can play it lots of times and try different styles, different routes. Space for skill growth to the end of the universe. pls full release when

I do understand not liking the game for not being pixel perfect, I initially tried to make it so but there's a lot of issues that come with trying to make a pixel perfect game, I didn't think i could face that for a jam but if you do get to see my upcoming devlog you'll notice the first tests were pixel perfect.
But thank you so much for your compliments, really means a lot! And yeah a big release is planned, there will be updates too if you want to keep up with the game :)
Happy you enjoyed the game!
The upgrades were all really interesting, great choice to have them affect multiple stats positively and negatively. It made it feel like I could go for specific "builds" if I wanted to.
Thanks for sharing with my stream! Here's the VOD to your game: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2256101019?t=03h23m49s
Thank you for playing the game on your stream, I enjoyed being there, you were very welcoming :)
I'll be showing clips from your VOD for my upcoming devlog as well.
Thank you for playing the game again! Happy you enjoyed!
Very creative game and for the second ever full game very impressive job. I liked the concept, but it seems there a few issues to fix. The projectiles should be based on delta, so multiply speed with delta if you haven't already to ensure it works the same regardless of FPS. The gunplay lacks some variety as it's just the single fire with tanky enemies. If you give this game more "juice" with vfx and higher damage/impact this game has a lot of potential. Good work!
Thank you! You must have been on the stream, but yeah I thought that physics processes were handled in a fixed rate (or maybe they should be) and so a lot of the physics i didn't multiply by delta 😭 well at least i learned what the problem was.
Yeah I have ideas to make the one gun more interesting but im planning to add more weapons too to choose from the start.
I'll work on more juicy goodness too.
Thank you a lot for the feed back, means a lot! Happy you enjoyed!
Really fun arcade style game but a few more sound effect for stuff like firing and interacting with the menu would have been a nice touch.
yeah there were some sounds but i basically made it quiet accidentally 😭
thank you for playing though, happy you enjoyed!
