How does your game fit the theme?
Stormy Housy is a game about keeping calm in the face of the oncoming storm and saving the day.
Before each move you can decide on your next action without time pressure ("Calm"), and each action then triggers another wind gust ("Storm" :D)

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, with a few exceptions of some sound effects and Unity libraries.

Hee-ho. Interesting puzzle game. Good idea

I’ve been trying to find some puzzle games and this one was really good! It’s a very interesting mechanic from a game design point of view, and the music kept me in the vibe too. I’m a big neon/cyberpunk/synthwave guy, so the art and music hit it off for me.

What makes it amazing is you get the hang of it rather quickly + the level design for each of the levels especially for a week long jam is insane. Loved the way you’ve thought about the theme, a rather subtle way to do it.

nice idea, great execution, well done ! the game design and polish is very cool for a one-week project, and it's quite impressive to have a level editor in there as well!

Developer

Thanks :D

Amazing game! Love the puzzle aspect and the graphics are great! Can't wait to see more! :D

Developer

Thanks! I tried Storm Disaster out as well and it is quite stimulating one’s ambitiousness :D

Very interesting puzzle game. There was this issue where most the problems I solved were a little brute-forcy, not that I wanted to brute force them but just by experimenting I could usually beat levels pretty easily, without really coming up with a strategy. It's a shame but for me custom levels didn't load as well. That said, those levels where I didn't just accidentally stumble onto the answer were really great. Super enjoyable game overall, incredible presentation and music, fits the theme well and some very interesting mechanics.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying it out and your feedback!

I know what you mean about it being a bit brute forcy. I think that could’ve been done better but maybe not in the restricted time frame we had to iterate and experiment. I really like the community level by ‘Blouey’ (unaffiliated ;) ) because there you have to notice what your problems are and have to come up and implement a strategy and solution. It can not be that easily brute forced.

On the other hand: With a fixed amount of steps the possible state space for each level is quite low and I think it is a intrinsic problem of the mechanic.

Was a cool game and enjoyed the wind mechanic, it was hard at first, but still a cool game

Thanks for trying it out.

Give me a bit of time and then I love to test AreaBNB :) (Edit: Done - quite an atmospheric game!)

Nice mechanics. I must say I did not understand immediately that I was blocking the wind. The wind effect could be enhanced I think.

Overall great game.

Developer

That is true. While I like the look of the wind VFX it is a bit hard to read. We had the intention to let it clearly convey, where wind is blocked but it is to fast and convoluted to do so.

On the matter of conveying information: I like those signs in you game! I find that live updating population sign hilarious!

Great job

Thanks :) I tried yours and managed to save quite a few chickens! Nice Game!

Nice unique take on the theme! If I had to make a suggestion, maybe you could've made some of the 'gusts' strong enough to push the van around (they could have different colour arrows associated with them in the forecast,) such that the puzzle continued after picking up the guys. But otherwise I really liked it!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the suggestion! We thought about it and had the low key idea, that the wind could influence the move pattern of the vehicle. i.e. when you drive with strong wind, you may move multiple fields. But we only jamed over the weekend and had no time to test it out.

This game has a lot going for it! Unique visuals, awesome music, simple yet challenging levels, and the potential to expand due to it's level-based system and built-in level editor. Great work!

Submitted(+1)

Really enjoyed the puzzles and smooth camera movement! The design is clean and intuitive, making it easy to pick up and play. Maybe a little less camera movement would help, but overall, it's a great entry with lots of potential!

Submitted

really cool you even have a level editor, the game feels really good. It can get hard really quick.

A very good puzzle game! You can work on this a make a very solid game! It has a lot of potential! Very very cool!

Thanks! I just played Time Travel Tours Agency: Avoid Extinction and have to say that is a cool setting and story!

Submitted

Thanks a lot! Actually I have just changed the name because I'm making the page for steam and i had to find a better name! ahahah Can you please tell me if you like the new name?

Developer(+1)

The new name is a great pun, but I honestly liked the old title better.

I have the feeling it gave me some ‘additional purpose’. Am I a worker in some travel agency with time travel as an option - trying to rescue my customers? It was the tiniest little bit of world building which I quite liked.

Submitted

Thank you! I will think about it!

I love the design, music, and puzzles! It was fun ;) I liked that the game was easy to understand and the movements were smooth

Developer

Thanks! I’ve just played Avoid The Storm and can basically say the same to you :D

Very cool game, interesting puzzles and visuals! But I felt like there was too much camera movement sometimes. Overall still a great experience :)

Developer

I feel the same about the camera. I mostly like it, but every now and then, it is a bit to much. But we ran out of time to really tune it in. Sometimes it would’ve been nice to see the level a bit closer or have a bit less movement. But on the other hand I like how it currently turned out and think, it shows the ‘potential’ of nice camera transition and animations :D

I just helped Jimmy out in Bingo Spree and I have to say, that the setting hits home way to hard (in a fun way) - I really like the idea and setup!

This is the first truly "pro" game I've played in the jam, and it’s clear you’ve got a sharp sense of design and aesthetics. It feels like this definitely isn't your first rodeo. Really well done, especially considering the amount of content you’ve packed in. The learning curve is smooth and easy to pick up, which I really appreciated.

Developer

Wow, thanks. I am not quite sure what to do with that comment. Maybe print it, so I can hang it on my wall? Yet undecided :) In any case, thank you for trying the game out and writing that comment.

I just played your game and will write something as well. Just be aware, that I am just a non native speaking bloke with a keyboard and not that silver tongued :)

Cool puzzle! Like sfx for people and wind animation! Overall looks nice and clean. Camera movements is smooth and looks very professional.

I like the game. It's easy to understand and play!
If you have time, check Stormflow as well. It would be nice to have feedback from you!

Developer

I did :)

As i said in my comment under your game: I like the visual transitions you have!

Submitted(+2)

Wow that is a really good game design. camera moving so smoothly. easy to understand love it <3

Developer

Thanks!

I just played yours a bunch and while I guess I am not good at it I also had a lot of fun just stacking objects on top of each other and doing a (well, actually quite terrible) job saving that purrr cat!

Hi, hope you had a great time during the jam. Quite a decent game, good puzzling, would preferred just making it in the amount of moves, now i had to go left right moves at the end just to end the level. But great submission. Great work!

Try Tornad.io aswell and leave a comment about what you think about it! :)

We had a great time!

The exact number of steps becomes more important for later levels - I can understand that it seems superfluous at the beginning when it is first introduced.

I absolutly adore the tornado in your game and hope you had a great time creating it as well!
