The Hitboxes and the umbrellas has been fixed!

Hey! This is a cute little game. I loved the little bird and his umbrella :) I think it would be great if you keep developing the game because with a bit of tuning of the umbrella and movement, it would be a really nice game. Also I though the death animation and zoom-in was quite polished!

Developer

I'm currently working on the game to fix that, Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it

As a pixel artist myself, I found the little bird so endearing that I had to give this game a try. Such a cute birb! I really wanted to beat level 1 but I got really frustrated and had to stop. Others have already pointed out what I feel are the two biggest flaws, which are unforgiving hitboxes and really inconsistent umbrella deployment. I think if those were fixed, this game would be pretty fun!

I will definitely give it another go after the patch!

Thanks! I'm updating tomorrow.

Player is bird (that is not a kiwi or penguin) and cannot fly but is old enough to operate an umbrella. I would find a way to make the umbrella more reliable (https://docs.godotengine.org/en/sta...) and maybe make the hitboxes a little more accurate, other than that this is pretty good.

Thanks! I'm working on to fix that.

This game is cool! A little tough in places, but gliding with the umberella is very fun. Good work!

Developer

Thanks, I appreciate it!

Not bad. Activating the umbrella is a bit unresponsive and unpredictable though.

Now it's fixed! Thanks.

the art is very good, it just need some background parallax.

the game is fun, but maybe it's a little to hard. also, why does the bird need a parachute to glide instead os using its wings...?

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I didn't have much time to work on the game, I entered the game jam with 3 days left, so the game is not perfect and the parachute thing was a random idea, thanks for commenting, btw

It has a really lovely atmosphere but the collision detection feels unfair with the sawblades and often the umbrella just doesn't deploy when I press shift :( I do hope you continue working on it, it's a solid start :)

Developer(+1)

Sorry, the collision and the umbrella was really buggy, It's my first jam that I participate, I will try to fix the collision and the umbrella, thanks for letting me know!

oh man don't apologize :D it's great that you managed to finish making a game in such a short time! (remember Cyberpunk 2077 took years and was buggy as hell ;P) I look forward to your updated version :)

The game looks fine. The bird is cute. I was able to complete only the tutorial because I got stuck at columns of saw blades. Is there some kind of a dash mechanic? Also, is there a way to leave a level without finishing it? I had to reload the game to try out the second level.

Developer (1 edit)

Unfortunately, I didn't have much time to make the menus, Dash was even in the plans, but it was too late. Thanks for commenting, I appreciate it.
