By far my favorite game I have played for this jam so far!!! The fragmentation effect is honestly something cooler than most triple a games put out! Well done.

For the mesh tearing effect, I wrote a geometry shader along with some tessellation.

I can see how that might be annoying, but the only reason I added “hold E to interact” was to keep players from just speed running through the level by simply spamming E.

The music, it invoked an emotion of sadness and direness but with a feeling of risk and suspense. The art design was really cool especially how you animated the portals. The shooting felt really nice especially while curving left and right, it still felt accurate. Cool game, good job!

As I said in the chat, this is stunning. Such a cool idea for a game premise and executed really well. I had to just drive around levels for a little bit to look at the glitched out elements. I’d love to see this expanded on.

Are you referring to the red colored hole, or the reconstruction effect?
For both of them, I wrote custom shaders.
For the red colored distorted effect, a Multi-pass distortion shader. For the shattering/re-construction effetc, a geometry shader along with tessellation.

I love the graphics and UI that you made. Reminds me of stuff like Remember Me and Mirrors Edge. Very cool with all of the shattered elements. Nice work.
