Interesting concept! Would recommend making the enemies on screen earlier and making the shield activate faster.
This was a cool idea, and I think with some polish you could make something of this. My suggestions would be to make things like the owl-like enemy less fast or be on screen for a moment before they hit you, and make the animation for the shield a bit faster, so the player has a better sense of when they are actually protected. Other than that, good job
thanks for the feedback!
cool
Nice game! My major issue with the game is tho that the player feels a bit too floaty and sticks to the walls. Additionally a lot of enemies don't get announced before they come, especially the one big flying thing, I'd suggest you looking into the so called Telegraphing. Here is a video about it and bosses in general:
thank you for the feedback
Fun game with fun concept! Kinda sad that you can't attack but only use shield. Go and rate my game too!
Nice concept to use the cycle of the day to switch roles which drastically changes the gameplay. The player can anticipate what's coming once they got used on the first cycle, with it, they can feel that the level's about to end and start anew, and the game executed it nicely. Also, the large sizes of the sun and moon helped on emphasizing what's about to come and the game's core mechanic itself.
The only issue I encountered is the camera as I can't see enough towards the direction I'm heading to in which the enemies are coming from.
It is a nice jam game, well done!
very good chap! Keep up the good work;
Took me a minute to figure it out but I really liked the sun and moon mechanic. Neat game
Cool idea, innovative for sure! I also went down the left side and softlocked :P I found the “shield” mechanic to be a little weird, I personally would have used a regular attack like a sword slash or something. Good work!
thanks for the feedback!
Game has potential, but movement is too floaty and sometimes enemies are too fast for me xD. Also, switching to night phase was unexpected for me at the first time. It would be nice to have some progression here too. Animations are nice.
P.S I love ninja sprite
thanks for the feedback!
Had fun, wanted to keep playing.
I went off the left side and didn't die!
oh didn't think about the left side. thanks for the feedback!
Really nice game concept with the switching between two different styles for night and day. If you continue this post jam one thing is for day you can make the camera look ahead a bit more to show more space in front of the player to give them time to react as atm enemies come in quick + the player is near the edge of the screen already so its easy to take some undodgeable damage
thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it.
Really cool game
Cool concept. I really like the animation of movement. I don't like the "sun" sprites, but well done!
the artist bailed last min. had to do it all myself :\
Nice game. Great work!
Your game has a cool concept, but some things are missing, like a warning right before the cycle change or the ghost movement. Other than that, you did a nice work!
Congratulations on your first game jam submission! Your game's premise shows great promise and I particularly enjoyed the day-night cycle feature.
Nice design idea
Cool concept with having the day/night cycles and changing the player during them! To me it was a bit hard to predict when the enemies would be coming on screen so I found myself taking a lot of damage from that. Other than that, well done!
Very nice
