Really cute game made in Pico8! The music was really cute, and the action was rather nice! Would have liked a bit more in story or levels but overall I liked the concept of fighting one character over the map is cool!

It would not be as great if it did not look this stunningly amazing!

It is a rather generic bullet hell, but it does not need to be anything more. This is very simple but immensly effective nd manages to entertain for a longer timespan than some even more suvvisticated entries.

Very cool and stylish, nice work on the Pico8! Either an auto aim, or locking the direction of fire would of been nice. Good job!

Really nice style of Artwork for this, and I enjoyed how you tied it all together well.
Would have preferred a separate mouse aim, to shooting in the direction I faced, to make it a bit easier on that front. Added difficulty in having to ensure i'm facing the enemy (or in front of their move).
The fire rate element was good though, as when I could line up a good spamming session, I could make the most of it, so that was a nice balance feature. Some other games with regular paced auto fire rate, I've found a little tedious on that front, so very nice to have this difference.

Great set up for a Jam game, one never ending scene, and a boss that makes it progressively difficult based on score. perfect.
Obviously though if you do move this game forward (and I hope you do), adding in story, more settings, etc etc would be needed.

Great job, well done on this, one of my favs for look and style.

Thx for the feedback. Sadly, pico-8 is quite a limited platform, and i just try it for fun. You can take a look on my other Song of Morus games which are made with Unity.

Really fun and the fact this is made in Pico8 gives it authentic retro charm.

I like the simple gameplay goal of try to survive and score as much as possible and it's also pretty fun having to adapt to each new pattern as you shoot the boss when she changes her attack.

If i had to nitpick i'd only say that having no autofire on the main attack can be tiresome after a while, but i also gotta factor in that it is awesome that there doesn't really seem to have to be a firerate cap so if you've got a good triggerfinger you can spam shots at an insane rate :p

I had a good time playing this, it reminded me of older computer games like Amstrad or C64 titles :)

Thanks for playing my game. The retro charm brought me to pico8. I feel fun developing this game.

PS i think it has autofire?

Very cool game! Amazing that you made it in Pico8!

I would nicer if it had some way of aiming without moving though

Cool entry, I loved the old school visuals! Reminds me of some games I played with Game Boy Color like 20 years ago ;D the mechanics and progression in the game work quite well, and the sound fits the theme super nicely. Visually consistent, well made and polished entry. Felt that it needs a bit of variety in the gameplay though, but for a small game it works like a charm!

Check out our submission as well, if you feel like it! :)

Good game! It was pretty fun, though it wasnt very original. The visuals could be polished up too! its also very approachable, with its controls being intunitve and easy to understand.

Forgot to mention, a strafe/aim-lock button for this type of shooter would be nice too!

Developer

for the othere games in the series, the player is suppsoed to aim via mouse control. For this game, the mouse api for pico8 is undocumented plus i would like to keep it retro.

Very cool game, art style and sounds. The jump to dodge bullets, all very cool. I just didn't understand if the enemy dies, I couldn't kill him once =(. I loved the game, congratulations.

Developer

it's a very small game so thegoal is just to get higher score and the only enemy won't die.

Nice little multidirectional shooter! Would be nice if there was more to it than the boss (like smaller enemies to kill/actual stages, more involved ways to score, etc). Only other thing is that you can shoot/score much faster if you button-mash rather than just holding the shot key.

A very simple and solid game! The controls felt easy and the game was simple to pick up and play! The arcade style highest score is also pretty cool. There's not much else to the game, though. Visuals and audio makes the game satisfying to play. Amazing game, perhaps more can be added to it!
