That was really a good concept...

Kind of like tower defense but with you being the tower itself...

Due to my stupidity I sometimes ended up pressing F button instead of D...

maybe different button next time?

Developer

Thanks for playing!

We’ll probably remove the unstuck button entirely because the bug that sometimes caused a softlock seems to have disappeared.

Thank you for the feedback! :D

Before anything else, a heartfelt congratulation for making it to the end goal!

Many are the ones who embark on such a trial but few are those who actually get to the finish line.

That in itself is a victory and you should cherish all you've learned. In the end, that's what you will carry forward.

You guys as developers already know most of what you need to improve on from what I can read. What you lacked was the experience and getting here is already working on that, ain't it?

We'll look forward to your work in other jams if we coincide again! Hugs.

I feel so understood TwT

Thank you for the kind words. It means a lot :)

We originally joined the jam to gain experience and ended up having a lot of fun doing so!

It was a great experience all the way. A large part of it being the incredible community that took part in the jam.

I wish you the best of luck moving forward and hope to meet you guys in a future game jam. Take Care!

Its a simple game.. Don't have much to say about other then: There is no proper tutorial ,there is no ground floor texture , the enemies behave weirdly ,the character and the fire and the monster looks like they were made by different artists :( The controls are a bit weird ,I like the camera switching with the mouse cursor ,there is no actual risk and reward system ,Other then that ,and its being ur first jam ,Its good :D

Developer(+2)

I appreciate the feedback qwq We joined the jam to learn and improve our skills and id say we achieved that goal :D A tutorial, ground texture, enemy variety with modular AI and a reward system were all planned but not included in the current build as we ran out of time. The fire was originally meant to be a placeholder and was in fact not made by the same artist as the rest of the sprites. The controls are meant to be paired with a ranged weapon that we did not get to implement either, which makes for the weird feel, and the camera is my greatest pride lol. We also gathered some sounds and music, but, again, didnt have the time to implement them :P We’re probably going to make some improvements to the game in the future so your feedback, albeit a little harsh, is much appreciated! :)

Submitted(+1)

Oh no.. I was harsh? :( I didn't mean to be harsh at all xD You rly did a good job tho :D

For being your first jam, I think you did a good job giving a playable product, with a polish it could be much better, but the concept is very good

Developer

We will probably make a few improvements to the game where possible, but we achieved our goal of submitting a playable game. We also learned a lot about time management and game development in general, which will definitely be helpful in the future!

Honestly can’t add anything besides the other comments but it’s a good base, and thanks for making it!

Perfect use of the theme, this game is rly good. Rly solid use of the theme. Do wish there was music, and I got confused by the presence of the mouse at first. It was really funny to see the option menu having nothing lol. Loved the game tho, good job.

Developer

Thanks for the kind words :) We originally planned to add a ranged weapon alongside the melee weapon to give the mouse more purpose than to drag the cards, but ended up scrapping it due to a lack of time. Same thing happened to the options menu. Theres also just a lot of placeholders we never got to replace. And for some reason a few bugs appeared that are only in the itch.io embed :/ We’re still proud of what we achieved and look to make some improvements to the game. As you said, music would be nice

nice simple and cute game for your first jam , keep on improving :)

Developer

thank you so much! :D

simple yet cool defend the tower-like game that fits the theme pretty well. Great job! :D

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words!! We’ll try to make some improvements in the future (mainly sounds lol), but we learned a lot and had great fun. :3

The game works, which I think is the important thing, it does have several aspects that could be improved that I understand need to be polished over time. Plus I saw that it's your first Jam, so it's normal that we don't do the best the first time, despite that it is well done. Cheer up! continue enjoying video game development.

Developer(+1)

Time management and inexperience were likely the biggest problems we had. But improving that was exactly why we did this. Besides, it was a lot of fun. Thank you for the kind words! :D

Could use some music, I also wish there was some way for me to concentrate damage/speed up enemy kills like maybe clicking on enemies?

Developer

We were working on a track and some sounds for the game but ran out of time. Its our first gamejam and id say we learned a lot about time management and just making games in general. We’ll probably update the game a few times to make it more enjoyable. Thanks for the feedback! :)
