I really liked your game! Very simple but efficient, it feels very cool to ramp up the powers and get to experience this mayhem ^^' small asteroids are very hard to control, but i guess it's the point actually x) Great job!

Really interesting take.
Felt good as it was and then I made reached 150 points goal for the first time and it became even better :D

I really liked the spin on Asteroids - I think this is a very innovative take on an absolute classic. Calling it BLAsteroids is also very clever. I found the gameplay to be quite challenging and a couple of times I would have liked to go full-screen as my mouse was leaving the game! That said this is very addictive and a cool way to spend time - I reckon that this game would work super well on mobile if you haven't already thought of that - could be pretty viral on that platform so I hope you have plans to port it over :) nice work team.

Thank you for the feedback! Full-screen seems to be a common suggestion; I'm not sure how I would handle varying screen resolutions while keeping the game window size consistent. This and a mobile port would be an interesting challenge for the future. Thanks for playing!

which engine are you using? I use Unity and while not perfect it does a decent job of maintaining positioning of your game objects at varying resolutions (it's not perfect but it's good enough). For mobile I can definitely see using a finger pull motion to fire the asteroids as being a very intuitive feature/mechanic. I'm sure this would do so well on mobile.

What a fun game ! The core mechanic is very good, the art and gameplay are quite nice too !

The one thing i would say is that i felt a bit overwhelmed by spaceships and i had a hard time catching asteroids to throw them again.

Despite this point, this is a very good work congrats :)

Thank you for the feedback! I agree with you and the other posters, a better option would've been to use a CircleCast instead of a single Raycast to look for asteroids under the player's mouse. I tried mitigating some of that by allowing the player to hold the mouse down and catch asteroids instead of requiring a mouse click, but this is why feedback is so important! Thank you for playing

I think this is a much better game than Asteroids. :) I don't really have any complaints or nitpicks for this game. It is a small game but so well focused. Had a lot of fun smashing into the ships. The right-click to pull in asteroids power-- game changer! My high score was 1325. Great work!

Loved your game, fantastic mechanics with the asteroid loved the catch and throw concept. The game really made me think where I would want to throw the rock without it being destroyed and being able to hit the target ships. My only advice might be to spruce up the look of your ships and audio design but that's pretty minor in comparison to a really fun game. Nice job !

Quite addictive and pretty  difficult I must say. I love the idea of the controlling the asteroid instead of the spaceship.  Overall, pretty compelling entry.

Oh my goodness such a *CRUNCHY* game. Felt very interactive. I really enjoy how each new ability makes the game even *crunchier* too, while also making you feel really powerful. Very nice I love destroying spacecraft.

Developer

Thanks so much! I used the DoTween asset to make basically all the animations including camera shake, would highly recommend!

Surprisingly fun, I liked how the asteroid split into chunks when you get hit. my only downside is that I can't even get to the first level it feels like I have little control over what happens.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback; things become more manageable once you get some powerups but it eventually devolves into chaos :) You can type in 'cheater' to activate invincibility if you want to check out the powerups!

Submitted

oh, the chaos ;)

Nice, surprisingly engaging. It's not easy to put a fresh spin on a classic, you did well here. I think it could be a fun little time waster for someone on the Google Play Store.

Wow super fun game. A cool twist on a classic

Submitted(+1)

I love the game! A twist on old asteroids is very interesting and i find the "live" system of splitting into 2 smaller asteroids very cool!

This is incredibly fun. An amazing turn on a games head. This would destroy all the quarters.

my only issue is the small window. When excited, trying to grab onto the flinging asteroid, I would accidently click outside the window, which would(if there was another window behind it) hide the game behind another window.

I legit want to play this a lot, and would appreciate a full screen mode.

Developer(+1)

Thanks, that means a lot and I'm glad you enjoy the game! I was torn between just full-screening the window to fit the monitor or keeping a set window size. Settled on the fixed resolution to keep development simpler, but I hear you on the mouse issues. I'll put out a little update adding full-screen toggle once the game jam voting is concluded :)

The music and sound effects are just perfect. Great game!

A very well made and fun game. The simple graphical style and sound design are very nice. I really liked the time-slowing + chain reaction combo of upgrades. Cool role reversel on Asteroids.

For improvements, mainly just more of the same; more powerups, enemy types, etc. Also perhaps adding a full screen option.

Well done!

Amazing game! I love the visual effects and the sound design. The power up choosing system is also really interesting. The vortex power up is a little OP in my opinion, but overall a well made and well balanced game!

Developer

Thanks so much! Very much agree on the vortex being OP, I didn't get around to implementing an online leaderboard so I don't mind a little ridiculousness :)

Submitted(+1)

That is really well polished game. Very well design, especially the power ups.

Fantastic fling-em-up game! Nice twist on the original. Very professional.
