Game description
Embark on a personal journey of self-acceptance in this emotional platformer. Navigate through challenging levels while discovering your inner strength.

Controls:

A/D: Move left/right
Space: Jump
Left/Right Arrow: Skip/Go back a level
E: Interact
Space: Next dialogue option
Note: For the best experience, I recommend playing on Windows. The jump pad and some audio may not work properly in the HTML version.

Theme interpretation
The theme of secrets shaped the game’s narrative and mechanics. The protagonist’s journey revolves around uncovering and confronting hidden truths. The color transition from black and white to vibrant hues represents the revealing of secrets and the emotional growth that follows. The interactions with NPCs and their angel serve as a way for Alex to confront their own secrets and embrace authenticity.

Wildcards used (optional)

Cheat Mode

Let players break the rules with things like infinite lives or invincibility

A fun platformer, though in my opinion the movement needs a bit more polish, and there was a blind fall i couldnt get through so I had to skip that level. found a bug where you can stop your fall midway by getting into a wall, other than that bug the game felt fairly polished. Has alot of potential imo, cant wait to see where this game goes.

Developer

Yes, I will be working on these bug fixes soon. Thanks for the feedback!

Really awesome game, I loved the mix of uplifting messages and the general peaceful atmosphere. It's short, but I agree it feels very polished. Good job!

Developer

Thank you! I want to add move levels soon and more places to explore, but I wanted to make sure this game was polished for the jam :)

fun cute game, I loved how chill it was and the dialog was uplifting. some things I think could use a little improving though is making the movement feel a little better, and making jumps more clear, like getting rid of blind falls where you can't see what's below you. its a cool game though!

Developer

Thank you, I will improve on that!

Loved the game and your attention to detail. Felt as an ode to a lot of other games, in a good way. Also loved that from the first jump, you knew right way what kind of game it was, a hard one :-).

In the black and white (starting) world, I did not know what I was dying. When it was color, I found out. It were spikes. I did not see them very well. Also, I did not know the heart counter at the top was counting, was a bit unclear. Some very minor things because this is a good, polished game.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I'm thinking about removing the heart UI because the hearts don't really mean anything. Or I might add a better reason to collect them (and update the UI).

Cool game. Just a couple thoughts. In the black and white sections, its a little difficult to see the spikes, and some are off-screen, like in the last black and white screen. Jumps with low ceilings are a little difficult to pull off due to how strong the gravity is. And looks like the boncing pads only work if you jump first, most games will bounce continuously. Other than that, great use of the asset pack.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback. I will definitely be updating some of the art to make it easier to see. The jumping first for the bouncing pads was on purpose, but I think I will change that.

An amazing looking game

I really enjoyed this. Precision platformers aren't usually my thing; they tend to make me frustrated. However, this had a good level of difficulty where I never felt like I was banging my head against a wall. I think the music and graphics helped give it a more relaxed feel.

Developer

Thank you so much!

Very nice platformer. The positive messaging and style remind me of Celeste. I think If you hone in on the platforming mechanics a bit more and expand the game out you'd have a game I'd gladly pay for.

Developer

Thank you so much :)

Nice game, but platform edge right after the start is a little frustrating, you keep moving and isntantly fall.  And in a few places feels a lack of camera controls - W/S to look down and up. Overall the impressions are good.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I plan to make those changes soon :)

Thought this might be the best level in the game, until I found the next, and the one right after... an amazing love-letter to all who've kept something secret especially during this holiday season. Thank you. <wink>

Aw thank you so much! <3

The game looks good. But the gameplay require a little too much accuracy.

It may look make sense for the collision shape size to have the exact same size as the sprite boundary. But it does give the feeling of dying to nothing mostly.

Thank you for the feedback!

Loved the nostalgia vibe the game gave. From the colors, the graphics, the art direction… really loved it. The puzzles were great, liked the idea of having to use the little heart boost, even though i didn’t know how for what they were. The positive messages all over the game were really heart-warming. I just felt that maybe the spikes hitbox was a bit too much, but i got everything after a few tries so… Great work fr! 🌈

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! The spikes were definitely annoying, I'll look into fixing their hitboxes.

Nice gameplay and story. Enjoyed playing the game and getting those hearts. Those spikes were actually troublesome, but it was awesome anyway. After how many levels will the screen get colourful?

Developer

Thank you! After every 4 levels the saturation increases by about 30%, so there are 12 levels in total. I would've loved to include more levels and different parts of the town if I had more time!

Submitted(+1)

That’s a nice mechanic. Another subtle way to highlight this would be to increase saturation in-level depending on progress in the level.

Please try out my game Arcane Quest too!

Submitted

Very fun game. Loved the graphics, and enjoyed the details like how the colors became more saturated over time. Felt like I fell into every single spike, but I was satisfied whenever I could make it through a level without skipping!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, glad you liked it! I tried to make the game as frustrating as possible so the easier levels were more satisfying lol

This game has the general vibes and positivity of some of the better parts of celeste, and kinda reminds of that too. If that isn't what you were going for I'd be a little surprised. Man what a cute game. It's definitely the kind you have to bang your head against the wall a few times to get through the levels, but the controls are tight enough that whenever I died I did feel it was my fault. Also love the cute little pixel art!

Developer

Thank you so much! It is definitely inspired by Celeste!
