The game could have been a really fun tower defense game, but sadly the balance of it is a bit not well made. The way you make the game currency feels a bit clumsy, the hitboxes to get the gears are way too small, they sometimes get thrown way too far or into the building and you cant get them. Also, by the time you get your upgraded gun, you already are doing waves that feel like you should have had the gun already upgraded, like when it starts throwing 10 flying drones, and then another 10 ground drones. The sensitivity was turned all the way down for me, even turned it down in windows, but it was still too high, also I think there was mouse acceleration as well, which I wasn't able to turn off.
The gameplay loop was fun to do, but sadly the entire experience was a bit broken from getting stuck on walls to the upgraded gun not going into my hands and being stuck in the wall you buy it from (while I could also shoot from there as well, funny enough). (Ghio)
Thanks for the feedback but by any chance did you read the description and try building towers their prices are more affordable and the gun was more for a showcase that i have a gun system. But ye my bad for not explaining more in the game itself
I think this is a great start to something neat! I wish the controls were a bit easier in the top down mode as I found the player hard to control and it was hard to tell how much damage I was doing to the enemies. Nice job!
I think that he game would benefit greatly from some better feedback. If the enemies would have a stutter animation or slow for a bit and flash after being hit. I would like the gun sounds to be a bit more beefy so that I feel like I am doing something special, I like having a Dirty Hairy kind of feel when I am in an FPS. The games pacing seems a bit fast as well. A slower start to allow me a bit of exploring with turret placement would be very nice. You got a lot done for the Jam. The game works. These are just some personal observations that I think would take your game to the next level. Great Job.
Over all a tower defense game. I liked the idea but there are some explanations left behind :) The player needs to understand that before hand not during playtime :)
Thanks for sharing
Cool concept! was trying to change sensitivity according to hotfix but couldn't find it in the start menu option, just realized it was in the pause option after quite some time. Hope you set the default sensitivity to normal at first play though.
Nevertheless, nice game!
I wish the game had better game feel and feedback. I didn't know how to place towers before I looked in the game's description. That's my fault, but I wish you could learn how to play inside the game.
Its was super fun but once I got the powerup gun it seemed broken once I held down the button to shoot. The shots all came from the powerup spawn point.
Very cool game! It took me a moment to realize I could turn up the music and sfx, but I was super glad when I did. I really liked the challenge level!
Nice combination of tower defence with FPS mechanics. Pretty fun game, well done! :)
Very fun game! Loved playing it and it kept me on the edge which is a great sign. I had some frustrations though, first of all I didn't see the flying bots on my first run and I lost without knowing what went wrong. Secondly the sensitivity was very hard to balance, the game starts off with the slider on the lowest value but it seems that the actual value of the sensitivity is maximum, managed to get it right on the 2 run though and it went much better. The times between waves seemed really short and I didn't have enough time to collect all gears, maybe autocollect gears when the wave ends? Also I didn't see any feedback when I got hit or when the base lost a life, would've helped a lot.
tower defense type game now in fps impressive, I really like the world in the game and the reloading animation is outstanding, the music and sounds are ok and the main menu is great too, the issue is with te aiming system the sensitive is too high and the enemies are quite hard to kill they are moving fast and life is too high for them to be killed in time. other than they are all fine with me and I really like projectile visuals good work. would try out my game and rate it according.
Satisfying FPS game.
overall is pretty good. However, the path of the enemy is the one that troubled me, I hope you make the path of the enemy in the same level of the other ground (so we can step in there easier instead of jumping to it first). Good job for finishing the game!
Really surprised to see a working FPS in this jam! It felt like a scaled-down version of the Sanctum games, and I found myself compelled to keep playing. The first few waves were quite difficult with only the starter pistol, but once I got the rifle, the enemies felt much more manageable...until I got overwhelmed by the swarm on wave 7. Before I figured out how to pick up the rifle, there was also a fun bug where shooting with the pistol also caused the rifle to shoot from where it was stuck in the wall. Might not have been intentional, but it sold it as a tower defense, haha. Neat stuff!
i love the idea :) great game !
Good game
Interesting idea! It would be nice to have a little time to prepare my turrets before the wave starts!
Nice concept! I’ve played a similar concept like this at the jam. It’s a nice combination of shooter and tower defense, but I think it needs a bit more juice. It’s kind of bland but still pretty fun! good job!
Good game.
Cool combination of mechanics.
You are great!
I probably should have read the instructions first. Took me a few goes to realize what this game is. Shooter/Tower Defense. I like the idea of being able to switch between. It definitely got disorienting to use direction keys while overhead, but aiming north kind of helped.
It's a nice game, you could keep building on it for sure.
