Fantastic job! I like the power ups and different enemy types!
Very fun, the simple tug-of-war between your health and killing enemies was a great mechanic. I had a bit of frame rate issues, but otherwise very nicely done, good visuals and epic sounding music :)
Thank you for playing!
What a fun game! Thanks for the entry. I beat the boss first try :D Good balance of enemy types. Good fitting visuals, good powerups, though the red arrows were way less op than the green rapid fire.
Thanks for your feedback! I have the same feeling about the power ups.
Pretty fun! The intensity has a good curve and I almost beat the boss!
Pretty fun after I realized I could hold the shoot button, oops. I like the different enemy types and the game looks good.
Nice game! Reminds me of one I played like 12 years ago.
If you keep going with this I would love to see the powerups as collectible and you as a player choose when to activate - without this the final boss feels like luck if you get a powerup to be able to destroy his waves...
But already rly fun!
Thank you for your feedback.
You are totally right about the randomness issue. I played it a lot of times during test and balance sessions and I must say that getting the right powerup at the right moment is really a game changer. Collectible and usable at the player's will would definitely add a more strategic feeling to the game. Tbh, it was really intended to be a game jam game, but, when getting all those amazing feedbacks boosts me to get this game to a more complete one!
Thank you for playing and for your suggestions!
Love it. Played it a few times and won after a some tries. With a boss and all. I'll say it again, love it!
This was really good! I enjoyed the touches like the crossbow bolts stunning enemies for a second, that was an interesting mechanic. It would be nice to see whether the damage and speed power ups were currently active and for how long for they had left, which I think would help make things clearer. Also really liked the bombs and the resurrecting enemies in particular, those were good touches! Really impressive.
(Also, fellow Godot user?)
Yes it was my first Godot project (except the tutorials I got from GameDevTV). I was using Unity before. I found Godot quite straight forward with a really quick learning curve. I'll stick with it some time, for sure!
Cool game, I love it! Somehow managed to win on the first attempt.
I like the enemy behaviors and the boss mechanic. Regarding the boss i have a suggestion: delay when the attacks affect him until he has fully risen, that makes sort of a build up while presenting the boss, making more it more.. sort of a "you can't touch me!" epic raise. :)
About the audio, I set it usually by default to 50% volume, in case that helps, my system's audio is at 30 but people usually have it maxed at 100, so i can see how it could blow someones ears if set to maximum by default. At the very least, I'd suggest adding a volume slider, even if it doesn't get saved in between game sessions, unless you intend to complete the game and publish it, which at that point i'd consider it a must-have.
Cheers, and i hope this helps :D
Thank you very much for trying the game and for your feedback! They are very precious to me.
As for the sound, I made the game with my default volume, which is about 30-40% of max. You are totally right, I should have thought about this point. Volume slider is really missing, as are a lot of other options or UI element. This was a first try: first game jam ever, first full game and first personal project with Godot. Nevertheless, I thank you for pointing those things for me!
Last but not least, the boss entrance: I decided to add a boss on the last day of submission. Before that, it was sort of an endless shooter in which the player had to lose at some time.
I tried a lot of things last day, and I must admit that the boss introduction is not really as I wanted it to be: I wanted a shaking camera effect, with ground rumbling going up, VFX like dust and rocks exploding from the ground. Also I wanted to stop the background music for one second or two before those effects, to introduce a dramatical silence. Unfortunately, I didn't had the time nor the skills to achieve that.
Once again: thank you very much for your feedback and your suggestions!
You're welcome!
That sounds nice, keep it up! :D
The game has so much potential! Best of luck!
Thank you very much for your kind words
Nice game, a bit on the harder side. The boss it quite overwhelming.
The enemies are varied and quite well though. Does the ninjas avoid your cursors or does it just zigzag ?
Great entry.
It's just a basic zigzag, I swear :)
great game! thank you for this entry, I lost myself trying to do a perfect no hit run…
Thank you for your feedback! It means so much to me!
I really enjoyed your game! The zig zag monsters was a great touch.
You nailed it! I liked every aspect of your game. The moment I pressed RUN GAME, I was engulfed by your game. Great job with the intro, game mechanics, audio, and effects. My only criticism is the camera angle, but it could just be me. Thank you for your submission. I enjoyed every minute of your game.
Thank you very much for your kind review. I means so much to me!
I like how all the elements come together here. The game overall is cool, but I had performance problems in the browser. You might consider reducing the number of grass blades in that version, I guess, but the FPS was still very much playable.
The shooting felt very nice and the gameplay was really engaging! Great job :)
nice game
was so stressed playing it, well done
I had a blast.
definitely stressed me out trying to keep the hoard back
I survived... for now!
I'm usually pretty bad at these kinds of games, I think, but I did manage to win after only four tries. :)
I wasn't expecting a huge boss to show up! The speed boost really saved me on my successful run, I was about to be overrun otherwise.
The rogue/hooded enemies were by far the hardest for me to deal with. The wizards comparatively didn't seem to do anything? They were casting some sort of magic, for sure, but what that actually did was a mystery to me.
4 tries? That's more than I was expecting: thank you for playing.
The mages don't attack you directly but they resurrect the other skeletons... which can be a pain in the backside if you don't take care of the casters quickly. While testing, I saw a mage resurrecting the boss lol!
I initially had a shorter cast duration, but the game was a nightmare to win!
good intro and enviroment, somehow the camera sometimes are little buggy. but i really enjoy it!
