Gosh, there are a lot of ideas at play in this game, and it's very impressive for a 1-person jam submission!
I do have a few critiques.
I think a tutorial with a lot of pictures (and ideally, less text) would go a long way. I was able to figure out the nature of the dice-rolling mechanic eventually, but it's a complicated game with a very busy UI.
The combat sound effects are a little loud in my opinion, considering the background music is so quiet. Particularly the "taking damage" sound.
However, it's a cool idea! Holding off waves in dice combat, saving special dice for certain encounters! Great concept, and great work!
I just love unity's URP. Good artwork.
Very FUN and UNIQUE idea on this game! AWESOME WORK!!! GREAT ART!!! NICE MECHANICS!!! This was a fun challenging game. Loved it.
Interesting mechanic and gameplay, good job on the game!
Thanks for playing and leaving a comment! I appreciate it!
I did understand that I can roll dice when your circle encounter another enemy circle; but I did not understand how can i move my circle to hit other enemies? I'd like to save humanity from the goblin invasion! The game looks good but the onboarding is quite hard :)
Thanks for trying out my game! It for sure could have done with a better tutorial. As long as you're not currently in combat, WASD, or the left stick on a controller should move your character token around the field ^^
I'll give another shot, thanks! Did you try our game?
This game looked like it would have been great with the depth of mechanics. Felt like it would have benefited from more time for bug fixes and polish.
Apart from what has already been mentioned about the GUI being slightly confusing, I think there was also a bug with the narrative in game. Might have to do with pressing "proceed" before the text from the previous page is fully rendered. I ended up with something like this:
Might need to look into what the issue is!
But from what I can infer, this would be a cool representation of a tabletop game!
Thanks so much for playing! I appreciate the feedback! Yeah, the text is completely borked if you press proceed before it's finished printing ahahaha, I'm fully aware of it I just didn't have time to fix it xD
It was a cool very polished game and had balanced mechanics. good job.
Thanks so much for playing my game! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I loved your game, it looks polished and the gameplay was smooth :)
Thanks so much for trying out my game and the kind words! I really appreciate it! :D
I tried to play this game but all the UI was confusing, I also tried reading the tutorial but it was so text heavy I couldn't really infer what you were supposed to do.
I wish the UI was lighter just showing what you were supposed to press and a lot of the UI elements were so small. I think I did end up killing something or I don't know if that's even the objective of the game. This game was just very confusing to me. I don't think I came close to understanding it.
Thanks for giving my game a try! I agree the UI is pretty overwhelming to just throw at the player, I had a much better visual tutorial in mind I just didn't have the time to implement it and was forced to just write up a quick text one instead. Still, thanks for trying it!
I tried for a while to beat it but I couldn't even get close.I can't get a good balance of powering the barrier, powering the superweapon and fighting enemies.
I still enjoyed it though and I can imagine a lot of work went into all the mechanics and balancing it, because I imagine you can beat it, but for a game jam I think very few people will be able to beat it.
Thanks a lot for playing and the feedback! You're right I probably went a bit too complex for this kind of gamejam especially with running out of time for implementing a proper tutorial xD But I am still proud I was able to make all the systems I wanted to work so thanks a lot for recgonizing that!
I can't get far in this one! I did read the tutorial and I understand how to play, but actually succeeding is an entirely different story. There's so much going on and so many enemies showing up at once, then a single bird can wipe out my whole dice pool because I can't roll above a two. Is there a way to recover if you fall behind on dice? Some sort of catch up mechanism? But I feel like, even if I had infinite gold D20's I'd still run the risk of getting overwhelmed by the sheer numbers that come at me all at once!
Thanks a bunch for trying my game out! It for sure needed more time in balance, I wanted to have a full day dedicated to that but ran out of time and so had to quickly try to make it somewhat workable with only a couple of hours of balance. The way it is right now requires a bit of luck, the white bordered enemies that spawn are extremely easy to kill and drop 5 high value dice to recover really quickly. The village was also intended to help feed you a bit more of a dice pool over time and probably could have respawned it's pickup a bit faster, or even multiple of them. One of my goals was to have it feel a little chaotic like some rts games can be, but even after slowing the pacing down by half it probably needed to be chopped down a lot more or at least given a much slower tutorial level or something aha xD But thanks again for playing and leaving a comment!
Wow I can see all the effort, I think with some refinement you could have a real fun board game. Mostly I had no idea what was going on, maybe introduce mechanics and systems slowly to get players use to it.. but overall well done :)
Thanks for playing and the feedback! For sure it 100% needed a better tutorial/guided ramp up, I honestly just completely ran out of time to implement one of the kind that I wanted ;-; Thanks a bunch for the kind words though!
Enjoyed the Sounds - Nice one! :) If I'm honest, I didn't work out how to play properly, but that could just be me.
Thanks a bunch for playing and liking the sounds! It was my first try at making anything usable in FL Studio xD

Oookay.... I figured out parts of the game, but it was not intuitive. I appreciated all the clues with the button presses required. There was a lot of things to do and hard to keep track of it all. Good job finishing the project and creating the game you wanted.
Thanks so much for playing and the feedback! ^^
Okay, respectfully, WTF did I just play? It was confusing, but I really liked that actually.
I love the whole monsters invading thing. I’m not a fan of AI art since I think it looks generic and boring (I won’t go into morals since that’s been debated to death already). However, it sure can produce some badass looking monsters, which I thought was fitting for a game like this.
You definitely need some kind of instructions at least in the description. I really liked it, but I had very little clue what was going on. It took me several tries just to understand the mechanics. Being able to figure it out eventually and beating the game was satisfying for someone like me, but I bet most people will just drop the game after the first or second try and not understanding anything. Hell, I’m not even sure why I beat the boss at the end. I thought I didn’t have enough dice for it, I just spammed all of the rest and I guess the super weapon was enough at the end or something? Some more feedback for the player might be necessary as well!
By the way, is the game concept from somewhere? I feel like I haven’t seen it like this, but maybe I’m just unaware.
Thanks so much for playing my game! Even more so for completing it! That's awesome! I'm glad you stuck with it and figured it out enough to do so! Totally hear you on the instructions, there's a rundown from an option in the main menu but it's admittedly buried after a lore dump, so I took your great suggestion and edited the itch description to post it there as well, thanks a lot for that.
And I agree on AI art in general looking generic and boring, it was just a tool I have played with in my spare time and figured it would be better for the gamejam then just using some stick figures that I had drawn xD
As for the concept, I basically came up with it myself while brainstorming it with my best friend right at the start of the jam, it stemmed from a more fleshed out idea I had for a game a while back and kinda morphed into whatever you would call this hahaha. Thanks again a bunch for playing! :D
