How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
Is smol, 4 colours and has pumpkins with evil faces (so spoopy)

I assume this is made with sprite stacking which is cool, never done it myself. Game plays well, I like it, good job!

Definitely hard to play when starting out but overall the gameplay is fine it's certainly unique, the art looks nice and the audio is good. I like how you used spooky and it overall is a funny and interesting idea. a pretty solid entry.

Controls took a bit to get used to, and bumping into things stopped you real hard. But once I got really fun once I got the hang of it. Cool game, congrats!

This was a fun one! I liked the controls, but I did feel like the acceleration from stopped to moving was my only frustration with this game, it was a bit slow.  Other than that once I got going, killing the pumpkins felt awesome!

Thanks for playing, I think it's slow too don't worry. I did have it up higher in earlier builds, but it didn't feel fair to the pumpkins. This was also my first jam using pygame and compiling to wasm caused a few issues that I didn't have time to address.

Really fun game, very creative with controls and driving over the pumpkins. :D As a constructive criticism, music was a bit too repetitive i think. Also i liked the visuals, good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing, I agree on the music, the music in my game is just random keyboard presses and noises crunched down to 2khz in a 7 second loop. Probably something I  will work on for future jams.

I very much enjoyed running over the pumpkins. This was a silly, fun game that definitely had a spooky theme. Great job!

This one's REALLY great
It feels nice to control, it's really creative, I kinda really want a full version now.

Developer

I'm not sure that there will be sorry. However, I would like to utilise the core mechanics into another project. But the flim flam story I would drop.

Alright sounds nice! Can't wait!

I cackled with glee so many times. The gritty death metal sound effects of picking up fuel canisters or repair wrenches, the sheer ridiculousness of the giant pumpkin soaring into view. Fantastic, visually and conceptually. Driving this hunk of a Studebaker (complete with it's tank like body that should have crumbled to dust as many times as I hit the fences in the middle of the map) feels suitably weighty, and the inclusion of tank controls for the car is just right. Very cool game, I'd love to play more of it.

Developer

Thanks for playing, I was surprised how cool some of the sound effects came out after crunching down to 2khz. The spanner sfx is a power drill and the fuel pickup sfx is just me going glug glug. If I would do it again, I would work in a team from the get go and focus solely on programming and the "3D" models, maybe the sfx but definitely not the music, level design or art.
