pretty nice concept. Almost beat it, but the last boss beat me first haha
Glad you enjoyed the concept! It is quite a hard boss to defeat.
I liked the art and the concept a lot, hopefully you can continue to work in it :)
I appreciate that a lot!! I will think about developing the game further, however I am currently working on my next project.
Quite a neat game. I loved how all the travelers had different ways to scare them. I'm usually not too big on heavy rng based games but this one was pretty fun to play.
Thanks! I am glad you liked the fact that every traveler fears something different, despite it being RNG based!
I got stuck in the overworld by looping clockwise around the fork and merge at the beginning of the path.
Suddenly it stopped spawning me on the path, and I only had coins and campfires from there on out.
Conceptually interesting. I see the spaces are color-coded, allowing you to plan ahead a little.
Thanks for pointing out that bug. I'll make sure to test that area more thoroughly. Glad to hear the concept was interesting, though!
Good game! My first try I took the wrong path and got to the shop before I had any gold. Second try I had enough to buy a potion, and I was able to just barely the castle. I think a bit more clarity on how many steps you are allowed on the overworld would be nice, but otherwise fantastic job!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with the game! The levels are generated with RNG, so sometimes things just don't go as planned - but it sounds like you were able to persevere and have a good second try!
Also in the overworld, once you step onto a new level, you can no longer move. You're only allowed to walk on cleared levels.
What a great entry! My only critique is that the game might treat you to no items / unlucky encounters and that's all luck based. You should lean more to the players skill. My suggestion: give the player an item from the start (e.g. minor healing item), make an easier way for the player to know what the enemy is resistant to, make shops static and not random e.t.c. But really the game is impressive, graphics are great, music on point and the narrative brief and with substance. Excellent work!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful critique and suggestions! I appreciate your insights on balancing luck vs skill in the game. Your kind words about the game's graphics, music, and narrative also mean a great deal - thank you for taking the time to share your feedback!
This is really great, the art and music/sfx really shine, and it’s all polished, very professional presentation!
I feel the gameplay would really benefit from some more variety, the battles are a little one note. Branching paths on the overworld and some character growth would go a long way!
I really love this, it’s inspiring, well done :)
Thanks for the kind words! I appreciate your feedback and it's something I can definitely look into for future updates.
Great artwork and fun gameplay.
Appreciate it!
The art is awesome, even though I am a bit confused about the Item option since I did not find any items
Thank you! Items can be found in shops or through treasure chests in the game. Levels also randomly generate, so it's possible you might not get an item your first playthrough.
Nice RPG with a very beautiful graphic style that really reminds me of old Gameboy games. Great job!
That's a great compliment, thank you!
I loved the campaign in this game! All the polish in the art for the overworld, battles, and combat animations really shines through. What a fun little RPG.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
