Amazingggggggggg
Thank you!
This is not a jam game, this is a proffesional game.
Really fun to play!
Thanks, that's a nice compliment :)
Very good game <3
Thanks!
Best game I have played so far!
Love the whole thing.
My only thoughts are: Maybe allow the player to destroy turrets by shooting them X amount of times and that the big red space thing make a bad sound. Also spamming left click the whole way can get really tiring, so maybe make holding the button shoot at the maximum rate.
Thanks for the nice comment :)
I thought of destroying turrets but I don't think it would be a good design idea, however I could do something to make them a bit easier to deal with, like deactivating it for some time or reduce their fire rate. Also, about the sound, I'm not really proud of the overall sound design, sooo I agree with you haha
About holding the fire button, here again I do not think it would be a great idea, as there then would not be a lot to do despite keeping the input and aiming. Still, spamming the same key is indeed tiring, so what I could have done is adding some levels with lasers or where you can just let you being moved away by wind or something, to relief player spam a little bit.
I'll think of all that !
Yeah that's definitely a better way to look at it! Both my feedbacks had points but my suggestions were a bit off, your way of dealing with those sounds much more effective.
Overall though, absolutely banging entry! Did you make basically all of it yourself?
Thanks again!
I did, except the music. There are a few visual assets that I've made before the jam, like the rotating coins or some VFX (like the small puffs particles when the player lands or slides). I'm also using a personal code library that I expend as I work on game projects, which allowed me to save some time :)
Ah that makes sense then! Yes I should really do something like a personal code library as it would development up greatly. How long have you been doing game dev for, I imagine you are pretty experienced.
Depends on what you mean by pretty experienced haha, but this is definitely not my first shot at making a game ^^
I have a master degree in game development and I've been working in a studio as a game programmer for a year and a half :)
Haha yes that is definitely a lot of experience! I'm going to study game design in September this year, any advice?
About game design itself, being a programmer and not a game designer myself, I actually don't really know what advice I could give you haha. I suppose that game designers should play lots of different games, but this is also the case for others game profressions since it's a very generic advice.
Otherwise it seems you're already working on some games and doing game jams, which is great and you should definitely keep it going, personal projects are really what will make you get better and it's also a proof of motivation :)
Okay awesome thanks! I will try to keep it up.
GOOD GAME
Thanks!
Incredible, fun and fast-paced, could have been a bit more juicy but overall it's amazing!
Thanks a lot!
wow. By far the best entry i played so far. Really nice gameplay. I can see all the effort you put into this game, with its stunning visuals and different stages. Just the right amount of difficulty.
amazing!
Thanks a lot ! :)
The game looks very polished! The finger is tired of constantly pressing the shot button, but it's not for nothing that the jam theme is DON'T STOP ;) But thanks to checkpoints, you can relax and enjoy the wonderful art and animations. Overall a pleasant experience and I ended up with the results:
Haha not sure the theme is a valid excuse to break some fingers :D
Glad you liked it ! Thanks a lot and congrats for making it to the moon !
very fun, i like the part where you go to space
Spoiler alert haha
Thanks a lot !
Good! I thought the game was over in space but I was surprised when more came up. I like it!
Really impressive game. Was a lot of fun to play.
It was cool to see new ways the mechanic can be used thorough all of the game, also "level" variations felt very natural and satisfying.
(also shout out for the music which is great!)
Thanks a lot!
Awesome game, this was very fun! The graphics were great, I love the music and the responsiveness of the controls. The robots were the most difficult part of the game. I tried shooting them but wasn't able to deal damage? Aside from that, clicking the mouse repeatedly for about 6 minutes straight cramped my hand. All in all a great game, and I appreciated the use of checkpoints! If this ends up getting a mode without a checkpoint system, I'd like to try that too!
A no checkpoint mode is a nice idea, I like hard modes :p
You're also right about the button spam which can get boring after a few minutes, sorry for your hand ! Glad you liked the game despite that :)
Really cool, I had a ton of fun! The balancing is really good and never punishing. My only critique is that I would have preferred more space vertically, I often clicked outside of the game by mistake and I don't like fullscreen. 5/5
Thanks ! You're right about fullscreen, I wish I had time to implement a screen size option.
Seriously? Copied mechanics, a level assembled from several assets and a pixel shader, so that's what you need for success..
The game itself is 3.5 on a large screen it is simply impossible to play the eyes are flowing out
The whole game is played in 3 minutes, it is impossible to kill enemies, although it seems, but what prevents?
I flew out of the textures several times
overall, the game is good
About the mechanic being copied, you're probably right. About the level being assembled from several assets, also (but what is a level, if not something made out of assets ? Not sure about your point here haha). And the pixel shader, already made in Unity, right too. But, please keep in mind that I made all of this alone (despite the music), and I'm not saying this as an excuse, but making a game alone is hard, especially for motivation, so I simply prefered making a simple game but well polished and work on juiciness a lot, that try to create a new mechanic, because I'm a programmer more than a game designer.
I hope you can get my point, and I'm sorry if you're bothered by the fact that people are enjoying the game, though I'm not sure what I can do about it...
Thanks for taking the time to share your thought!
This description is perfect for me too. To be honest, this is an attack of a little envy. I'm not particularly lucky..
Great game, great visuals, great mechanics, a character that reminds me of red-headed Lord Boxman, and a checkpoint system that really helps make it not punishing, what's not to love?
I'm trying to find complaints but my only real one would be that spamming the mouse button a lot gets tiring, I'd like it if I could hold it down but I don't know what implications that would have on how y'all did level design it so it really isn't a huge deal.
Well, I thought of adding automatic fire, but I do not think it would have actually make the game better. What I could have done is adding some other mechanics like lasers or any weapon that just needs to keep the button pressed instead of spamming it, but it would also have impact on level design and I did not have enough time, as it's a jam :p
Thanks a lot for your nice comment
Wonderful game!! I love the aesthetic and gameplay sm. Great job guys!!
Thank you :)
Nice game! I realy like the art!
