Nice job! Funny idea for the theme, and great execution of the graphical interface, original concept. High marks for the humor and originality!
If you get a chance to check out my game Foxy Boom Boxy, I would love your feedback, thanks!
AWESOME AND FUN! loved seeing the 98 icons. Nice work. Reminded me of aquanood (bad spelling)
Thank you for your kind review.
I had a bit of trouble realizing it was a brick breaker game, but I still managed to be in the top 10 score !
Great. Thank you pal.
Reminds me of the old days <3
I wasn't able to shut down that PC <.>
well made !
Thanks for playing and good luck in the jam.
Love the originality and the game concept, even though I kept on losing in 30 seconds or less. XP
Those damn rebel icons. Thanks pal.
It was a really fun knockout clone. I liked it. I wish the game over cutscene could be skipped.
You're right. I should have made a skip option for the exploding computer. My mistake. Thanks for playing.
I don't think I fully understand the concept. So it's like a brick breaker...? But it tells me to open the start menu (but when I click on it nothing happens). I might just be confused :( I was there for Win 98 so I chuckled at the concept!
It is in principle brick breaker. You have to hit the start button with the ball (world icon) and every next step as well, in order not to turn off the computer.
I will be honest, I did not manage to turn off the computer naturally... self-destruction is always a second option, I guess!
Anyway, I love the idea, and the switching sounds when the "ball" hits rebelled icons. It is refreshing!
Also, are those rebelled icons lean toward the paddle if come too close?
Probably the only remark I can give is that I can't skip the computer destruction video and decrease time between session, but, hey, we all gotta pay the prize for not rescuing the PC.
Well, in principle, it's a matter of luck and just avoiding the rebel icons, and you've noticed well that they attack when they get close to the paddle. Thank you for playing.
Might be the most original submission of the jam!
Thank you for review. I played and review your game too.
Very nostalgic graphics and fun gameplay.
Ps: could you play my game
Thank you. Played and reviewed.
broooooo I love this! Made sure to give a rating!
Can you check out my game too?
Checked and rated.
The graphics in your game are truly impressive. My only suggestion is to enhance the gameplay's engagement factor by incorporating diverse elements to keep players more intrigued.
Checked and rated.
a fun and nostalgic game.
Thank you. I reviewed your game too.
This is hilarious! Playing it on a Steam Deck in full screen mode made me feel like I was running windows 98 for real haha!
Simple yet it works well, and the failure video clip had me laughing so much.
Thank you. I honestly didn't think it would ever be played on Steam Deck.
Honestly if it wasn't for the Linux Appimage I probably wouldn't have! It added to the experience so much though haha.
Such polish, quite the authentic 98 experience! I loved every second of it and your attention to details with the sounds, icons and windows. I couldn't last more than 30 seconds or so but I had a lot of fun, well done!
Thank you. I rewieved your game too.
This a really silly game, and I love it xD
Thank you. I check your game too and post review.
Fun game, but I felt like I didn't have much control so it was just luck whether I progressed. In standard breakout the ball changes directions based on where on the paddle you catch. I would have played more with this feature, but enjoyed what I saw. Great humor and I liked the music.
In essence, you are right, because for a good result you have to be lucky. The bounce extension is not perfect, but this gave me an idea how to perfect it, that is, to divide the stick into several connected parts and to bounce from each part at a different angle, but I didn't have time for that now. I didn't take this game too seriously anyway. Thanks for the review. I'm going to look your game now.
It's so original! Brings back some memories indeed...
Thank you. I am going to check your game now.
PLEASE MAKE A WINDOWS BUILD, I NEED IT! Also, i'll give this a 9.75/10.
EDIT: Also, the Clippy your using is the Office 2000 Clippy, not office 97. Not important, just a thing I noticed
Office 97 Clippy:
Office 2000 to Office 2007 Clippy:
I didn't even pay attention to the fact that clippy is from office 2000. Although it looks nicer. Windows build is not the problem. I'll probably post it tomorrow at the end of the day since I'm on vacation this weekend.
Haha, crazy.
In your description and in the in game error message it says the year is 1988. You mean 1998?
That's how it is when you're in a hurry to finish the game before the weekend so you don't see a stupid mistake like this. Thank you for noticing and reporting. Error corrected.
