This is awesome! The levels feel so nice and polished, you've really done a great job. Overall the amount of effort you put into polishing the game shows, everything from the pre-main menu intro sequence to the way the character moves. Amazing job!

The game mechanics are easy to understand (even if you don't play chess I think but it's not my case), the sound and the graphics are very nice and the length of the game session is also well done.

Wow, just wow, I've never played chess but this makes me interested in board games/chess in general, amazing game, good graphics, soundtrack, mechanics... I am really amazed that you made this in 1 week.

As a chess player myself, I was very interested in the concept of this game. I'm amazed by what you have managed to create in a week; this is a very polished game that could very well be sold as a commercial product if there were a few more levels.
The whole experience was engaging and never frustrating, as if I was ever about to give up I would have one more go and end up finding the solution. I don't have much experience with chess puzzles, but I was familiar with these knight puzzles and I only one that I found slightly hard was the final puzzle, which makes sense. Even so, thanks to the high quality of the game I enjoyed the whole experience.
I do have one piece of feedback though: When I checked the king in the final puzzle, the bishop simply kept moving. Illegal move :P
Thank you so much!! I am planning to expand on the game and add some levels too -I didn't even get to add the queen who was going to be a sort of boss level too (I had her sprite made up -you can see it in the opening sequence -but didn't have the time to implement her)
Also, lmfao crap! You're right! I completely forgot about check/check mate rules -I blame the jam time crunch! xD Admittedly, there isn't much AI in this game but I may expand on that too and add that logic into finished version if it still feels fun! Woaaah, for now it's my favourite one! I would definitely see a full game like that! Really, I have nothing more to say, I am just impressed <3 If you would like to develop it more I would add move count that is your score, so you would have to think how to finish level as fast as possible and maybe additional achievements for beating figures? Like, there was a level with that rook moving around and I am not sure if it was possible to beat the level without killing it, but... It'll be interesting to make optional enemies that you have to figure out how to beat. Something like collectibles in other games :D

This is soo well made. although im not sure if its intentional that if you move too 'fast' the enemies cant follow. like if I click d5 as an example then I immediately click to a possible future move, the enemies wont take a turn. however all the graphics, sounds, animation and idea are all executed very nicely.
