everything about this game is perfect
No, you are perfect! You and your Slugs!
This is so well-polished. The controls feel great, and the dog yanking your aim away is such a neat twist. Great job!
Thank you so much Incredulous Interactive! Your feedback means a lot to us :D
Of course! :) We'd love your feedback on our game as well. SpaceBus
I played the game, felt satisfied, then saw I pressed CTRL 0 times. So I played again just to push the CTRL button! This is a wonderful looking game all around. The visuals and sound are top notch. Simple, fun premise expertly executed!
Hey MayorMcFrumples. First I need to say that your nickname is amazing. Second, thanks a lot for the kind words, it means so much for us! Gotta say my intention with the CTRL thing at the end was exactly this, I wanted the players to open the game again just to check it out and leave the game with a smile on the face HAHA
beautiful
Thank you very much Pikiperry
I really love the idea and the execution was perfect, art was a 5/5 for sure, I had alot fun playing. the small thing I can critic is that it got a lil bit boring around wave 6-7 since nothing new was introduced, just more ennemies. Petting the dog at the end of waves, the skulls falling, the dust effect when sliding were all great extras that made the game even better.
Great entry, wish you guys the best of luck!
Hey Walid! Thanks a lot for your feedback! I do agree with everything that you said, basically our scope was the biggest problem, we decided to prioritize the movement and the game feel instead of adding more content, which made us run out of time. I still think it was the right decision but we ended up with no progress at all, which sucks. After the rating period we will for sure add a bit more things to keep the game fun and engaging at least for a couple minutes :D
We had exactly the same probleme, we only introduced 1 out of 3 main mechanics planned, one of the remaining two was fully implemented in like the last hour before submission so we had no time for level design. We used amost the whole second day for game feel, juice..etc
Man, that was hilarious even though I never had a dog nor a dog person (but that's probably irrelevant)
HAHA, my family had a huge dog when I was little, and the few times that I went to walk with him, it was exactly like this!
Looks so nice and polished! The skull permanence was a nice touch. At a moment, my character went out of bounds. Fortunately, it popped back into the arena.
The idea is kinda similar to ours, but I think this one feels much better. Check ours!
I love it! a dog pulling you is hilariously relatable and a good time. A little frustrating that sometimes it feels like you are forced to lose a life because you literally can't move away from them.
Thank you for the good times!
Hey bakawisdom! Thanks for the feedback! I totally agree with you, we couldn't solve this problem on time. We are still thinking about a proper way to solve this, either by adding a item to change direction/become immune for a few seconds or even adding a way to change direction with more agency. But we totally agree that this is a problem, will fix this somehow on a future update after the rating period :)
Awesome! It sounds like you are well on your way to figuring it out :) Take luck friend
Amazing! To the point!
I love the fact that you start with only two health and go back to full as soon as you find your dog in order to show you that that's how you get health back! (though i think this could have been made a bit more obvious as I still missed it on my first playthrough :P )
Honestly, I'd just love to see more! Maybe things that you know are going to get the dog's attention? Like in real life when you're walking your dog and you see something up ahead that you KNOW your dog is going to go crazy for!
Heyy, thank you so much! I've had a hard time implementing UI for HP at the last few minutes, we had an proper animation but I couldn't implement it HAHA, I think that would probably make it more obvious.
We had a lot of ideas like that! Maybe a way to throw a frisbee to control the doggo direction, or hydrants that call their attention, a car that the dog follow until it disappear, so many things that dogs can be associated to hahaha. Our biggest problem was the scope for sure, but maybe after the rating period we implement a few of those things to make a more complete experience :D
Haha, our game was probably a bit too big in scope, you can check it out here if you want! https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2020/rate/697372
Looking forward to your improved version! Might I suggest an additional dog distraction as the occasional squirrel running from tree to tree? :D
Also I forgot to say, I love the fact that that the dog slowly gets stronger the further you get! And using the score screen to show you a few more things you can do in the game was super neat and really helped the replayability!
Amazing game. Art is stunning, music is great, sound design overall perfectly fits the game!
We both had the same idea with random shooting directions - but you implemented it way better then I did :P
Yea, we had a pretty similar idea for the design foundation HAHA. But the implementation is just different, not better! Yours work perfectly for what you've proposed! Congratulations, super fun game! And thanks a lot for your feedback :D
so much fun and polish. my dog is a very good boy
The more you play the more you hate the dog, but you can't be mad at doggo, he cute af
Quite funny, I made it to wave 4.
Hey Mika! Thats amazing, after wave 4 things starts to get pretty tough haha
Incredibly polished, fun, awesome game feel, and adorable dog companion to top it all. Hats off.
Heyy, thank you so much for this warm comment! It means a lot to us :D
This is amazing for something made in 48 hours. Full 5/5s all around!
Hey Priomblazer, thank you so much for this comment, it means a lot to us that you enjoyed it!
Incredible game. I look up to make games like this; specially in the timespan of 48h!
Hey Coexito, I'm 100% sure that you are able to do games way better than this! I've played your game and it's amazing and very original!
Super impressive for a 48hr jam, lovely design and presentation and a cool idea implemented very well <3
Thanks a lot Kitcapel, we are glad that you liked it!
So much fun! Love the concept, love the way it's presented, love the sound design, love the character design, love the colour scheme of it all. Felt like a fully fledged completed game. I'm going to share and play more of this one.
Thank you so much for your kind words Akira, and thanks so much for sharing our little project, we are really happy with the result, so it feels amazing knowing that people liked it!
This is such a fun concept and the level of polish on it is incredible! I like the little touches of the skulls staying on the ground
Hey Greg, thanks for your kind words! We loved the little skulls too
Very nice game! Looks and sounds awesome. Good job on making the dog unpredictable, yet still eazy to control and move around with!
I wish there was a reason for not shooting. In TowerBag, carrying the bag (not shooting) means faster movement :). I really liked that aspect of the game!
I'm a big fan of the interesting world of this game, and how it's kind of open! I can see a lot of potential in it. Shop to go to when not walking the dog? Different environments?
Well done on the game :)!
Hey Tonyl, thanks for your nice feedback! It means a lot to us!
I completely agree with you, we had a bit of trouble finding this design during the jam, and also the time spent implementing and testing. We really fail on the scope (considering that I'm not an experienced programmer). I agree with what you said about shooting, I do think something like "the dog only drags you (for a few seconds) when you shoot" might work, but requires a few testing. I'll do this kind of test after the rating is over. Also, completely agree about having more stuff to do after the waves. I was itching to program a frisbee thing to play with all the dogs in the park hahaha.
Again, thanks a lot for your feedback!
Really fun and cute game, the shooting felt great and the art was really nice. Nice work!
Hey MushiGeo, we are super glad that you liked it! Thanks for your comment :D
