Good game. Especially the art, love it.
Such pretty art, I really like the story. It was a tad confusing but overall I had quite some fun :) Really awesome work for 2 days!
Great art! I was wondering if my choices had any effect on the story, or if I would end up in the jail cell regardless. Still I appreciated aesthetics, setting, and overall vibe :)
There is a path that leads to no jail time.
Great art, great music, great game. Can't believe that it's made in 48 hours. Great Job! This game makes me go YES!
Okay, first of all, I love the art!
And I love the situation I found myself in. Sadly I couldn't figure out what those two words mean. I have a suspicion but I'm not sure as I couldn't really confirm it.
And that's really my only problem with the game, I enjoyed my time, and it looks great but I didn't understand what was happening.
It would have been great if the player got clues as to what some words mean or have some kind of revelation at the end, even if it would just be Charlie telling the player what those two words mean. Because I'm sure everyone has some ideas and not have any resolve at the end feels a bit unsatisfying.
So I had fun, I love the concept and I really think this idea and setting could make for a very interesting title if it was expanded upon and the player could actually learn something about the language.
The good ending implies the two words mean Facial or Massage, as that was what the concierge had been told to ask you by your wife.
We'll definitely be adding more to the script after the jam so this joke can land better.
As confusing as it was, this game was pretty cool, I liked it. Artstyle was neat, and the story has an interesting concept. Only thing wrong with it that I could find was that options on your dialogue box stayed if you moved to a different area of the game.
Fun game! I couldn't get the good ending though.
Try bothering the lady in the park a few times until you learn about the cafe. Then visit the cafe a gain after checking out somewhere else. If given the option to leave, always leave.
Is this a good game? Sote?
This was very fun and original!
this game was so much fun to play and at the end i STILL had no idea what i was saying, its a really original idea and its so well designed!!
I loved the absolute feeling of bafflement! Having sat in on a lunch in a foreign country, I can definitely relate.
I would love to play this game with a more fleshed-out soundscape to really bring the city to life. If you sprung for voice acting, you could even give players clues through intonation of the words.
Great job overall!
Very original take on the theme, the game was very Sola to play, and the artstyle is very Sote, great game!
Nice art! But what was the meaning of these words? Reminded me of https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/lost-in-translation
We have a translated version of all the dialogue, we just didn't think it would fit the theme to make it understandable. Post Jam update for sure.
SOTE? SOTE? SOTE? SOTE? SOTE? SOTE? SOTE? SOTE? SOTE? SOTE?
Ahahaha I got arrested, what a beautiful day to have a hangover
This was a fun experience lol and definitely something different from the rest of the entries :O!
Great art, and great game overall, I found the cursive font a little too hard to read, but in general very good!
I like the art, but the visual novel / text adventure doesn't necessarily do a good job of indicating intent outside of text, which made it difficult to engage with.
We tried to put directions and words of importance in red, but we also didn't finish the script until about an hour before the jam's end so no time for a second pass to make sure it was clear to follow. It's on the list of improvements for after the jam.
Great take on the jam theme! Really like the art and you really captured the whole bumbling around in a unknown land.
I love this idea! Reminds me of when I lived in spain for a bit, but couldn't speak spanish hahaha
Wonderful art, wonderful looking characters and a great spin on the idea. Well done!
