This was the right mix of fun and challenging! 5/5 overall, fantastic artwork, music, and concept :)

Developer

I'm glad you liked it, thanks for playing!

I like the idea its super original! I always wanted to do a shield wielding game where your main ability is too bash things

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! It was very fun developing around this mechanic, I would love to see different takes on it.

This is really fun! Honestly, I'm not sure what I'd like to see improved on this, since it's already very well made. I think the only thing I don't really agree with is the decision to put the controllable character's health on the corner of the screen, instead of under the character like the other guy.

I had also encountered a bug where the uncontrollable character goes back and forth near the coin and doesn't collect it. Can't seem to reproduce the bug, though.

Developer

Thanks for playing! The original design for the controllable character's health was as you describe. However, the healthbar was blocking the shield in certain angles, so I had to change it :(. I do agree that it would look better, and would also be more intuitive.

Also, thanks for the bug report! It will certaintly be fixed in the post-jam update.

Very good. 5 outta 5. I enjoyed it a lot. This is practically a full game.

Thanks for playing!

This was a really awesome submission. The visual and audio styles work great with each other. Its a novel concept that fits the theme really well. My only complaint is that I couldn't understand for a while why i couldn't shield bash. Having some sort of meter fill that indicates when you can or cant bash would help a lot with that.

Developer

Thanks for playing! About the shield bash: that's weird, you should always be able to shield bash. A friend of mine had a similar problem, are you using a touchpad?

Submitted(+1)

I am using a touchpad. I just had another game do the same thing so it must be me! I’ll go back and try it out with a mouse.

Nice play on the theme and good progression of difficulty.  Very fun!  Thanks for making this :)

I really like your game, the arts are great and gameplay reminds me of Ico in PS2 but in 2D.

Well done!!!!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Holy shit how did you manage all of this in 48 hours? Amazing work!

Developer

Hahaha I did it by spending an unhealthy amount of time in it. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Hahaha, the concept is amazing!

Developer

Thanks!

Submitted(+1)

Beautiful, but sadly impossible to play on non-qwerty keyboards. Could you add in  arrow-key support  to move around ?

Developer(+1)

Oh damn! I actually had alternative controls in the backlog but ended up completely forgetting them in the rush of the jam. I'll add them in the post-jam update. Thanks for trying anyway!

Submitted(+1)

I can't say anything bad about your game. Very polished for a jam and the concept, oh my...it also has a background / moral story. Love it!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Ran into a glitch where my guy kept running in a direction.

Really nice concept, simple enough to get the hang of real easily.

Developer

Any chance you clicked outside the game area while moving? Anyway, thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Absolutely crazy amount of polish on this one, especially considering you made all of the audio and art during the 48 hours. Stellar work.

Developer

It was a very tight timeline indeed. Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Nice and polished game! This kid does not have what it takes to be an adventurer if he keeps wandering like that. Awesome job with the music and sprites- it looks and sounds great!

Developer

Let the kid chase his dreams hahaha! Thanks for playing!

This is amazing!!! Really love it!!! Congrats =D

Developer

Thanks for playing! :)

Very well made, I like the gameplay a lot. The npc arrow sometimes bugs out and starts flickering in opposite directions.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Any ideas on how to reproduce this bug?

Submitted(+1)

Happens right at the start, only if I bash him around while he is collecting the coin.

Developer

That's very helpful. I'll try to fix it for the post-jam update.

Submitted(+1)

Nice one, really polished. I liked soundtrack too!

Developer

Glad you liked it, thanks for playing!

Oh wow, loved it!

Hope Matt picks you, the theme was very well integrated, and it was awesome to guide the character by bashing into him and to only have a defensive ability.

Nice presentation and execution, only have to wait to have a mouse instead of a trackpad to play it correctly :D

Congrats

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you had fun :)

Amazing! Polished, fun, perfectly challenging, and super impressive that you the did art, sounds, music, and programming yourself in such a limited time. Expected no less from you :^)

Developer

Thanks! It was such a challenging experience to make a game in only 2 days, but we managed it!

Submitted(+1)

Pretty nice concept. It's really hard, in a good way.

Developer

Haha yeah, I just love designing challenging levels. Thanks for playing!
