The music kicks ass, and the idea is pretty cool, too! The cooldown for the toggle felt a bit too long at times, and the projectiles coming out of the gun instead of the center of the player made aiming tricky sometimes, but I really enjoyed it :)
I really liked the mechanics and the exploding enemy, very fun and well made :)
thank you so much!
This was pretty fun! Reminds me of an idea I had a long time ago, glad you were able to pull it off!
Nice mechanic! The light visuals & music make it all feel polished and in place.
thank you so much!
Woah, this is really good!
i loved the mechanics, the only suggession i have is to maybe incorporate the character turning the other way using the flip() method!
i especially loved the music too :)
thank you so much for playing the game, and thanks for the suggestion!
I like the idea, i like the art and i like the gameplay! Awesome! Good job!
Please check my game as well ;)
The sound track is awesome, the combat/light system is completely original, the browser page has been decked out making the whole thing look beautiful. 5/5/5
thanks alot:D
I have to agree with comment below me.
The idea and sound/art design are the best I've played so far, but the gameplay does get repetitive. I think the solution was to just add some small variety, like some simple traps that you have to scout out. Wouldn't be too hard to make but can add a lot of depth already.
we wanted to add a different enemy but we were spending our time trying to fix a bug we could not even end up fixing :(
but thanks for the feedback :D
I love this main mechanic. Being unsure as you fire at where the zombie was until you get a confirmed kill is a great feeling, and turning the torch back on to see one right behind you... The music and visuals really up the experience.
However, I think that the length of this game overstays it's welcome somewhat: the main mechanic is revealed at the start of the game, but isn't really varied, explored, or remixed in any way throughout the levels. It would have been served just as well by one single level. There's also the problem of repetitive stress injury, spamming LMB wasn't very friendly to my fingerbones.
This game dazzled me to begin with, but struggled to hold my attention. Another day of work to add something new would do wonders. Great job!
Thank you for playing the game! And thank you as well for the detailed suggestions! We will definitely look into those!
Really entertaining and it looks so nice too!
thank you so much!
Pretty gread job! A nice solid game, you guys made a good product!

Darkness as a gameplay mechanic has never really sit well with me, whether it be with Mario or the Binding of Isaac, I just didn't find the appeal of blindly going through corridors and hoping nothing kills you. This game might have changed my mind. It's just so fun turning on your flashlight (Thank god for this game mechanic!) and blasting enemies in a stealth-wise fashion while 80's synthwave plays in the background! The concept of switching between the flashlight and the gun creates really satisfying moments where you shoot through the dark semi-blindly but killing 5 enemies in the process. Played the game all the way through without feeling bored (some levels like the kill 19 enemy level did come close though). While the theming does feel like stretch, it is absolutely one of my favorites of this jam.
Thanks for playing the game! Glad that we changed your thoughts about darkness as a gameplay mechanic!
Pretty nice, reminds me of when Doom 3 came out in 2004 and everyone was making fun of the fact you can't use a flashlight and a gun at the same time in that game, until someone made a "duct-tape mod".
Gameplay is fun, not super challenging. I'm wondering what would take this mechanic to the next level, perhaps enemies with more surprising movements that will make them harder to predict while blind.
Graphics and audio are very neat, really liked the vibe.
Minor bug - shots don't spawn from the gun's position as expected, and might sometimes instantly collide with a nearby wall when spawning unexpectedly below the character, like when aiming to the left.
Thank you so much! We realize the bug so late that we just couldn't fix it in time :(
I feel you, I also found a bug about 10 minutes after submissions were closed... Luckily for me it's only related to the final ~10% of the game, and only breaks the game occasionally 😅.
Awesome game, I went in there with like no light, and started walking to dead ends, I was thinking, this is "torchure"
Thanks for playing the game!
Cool entry! was pretty cool to stalk around corners switching between seeing and shooting, it works extra well with the cool down meter. I wasn't a huge fan of the shooting tbh, the bullets felt off center and if I was to close to the wall and aiming a certain way my bullets would be destroyed by the wall instantly. I also wasn't sure why the timer had a unique font but the Level and enemy counter had a more blurry font.
Overall it was fun! it had a very tactical feel as I went from enemy to enemy.
Thx for playing the game! Glad that you like the cooldown!
Yea, we've been trying to troubleshoot the shooting bug for a very long time now, but nothing seems to work :(
We forgot to update the font of the enemy counter lol. We remembered it at the last minute but we're too lazy to reopen all of our game engines so we just left it as it is :P
The fact that you can't switch between them without a cooldown shows that this is well thought out. I like the art style, and the game has plenty of "juice".
The only thing is that I don't see how this fits the jam's theme.
thanks and the torch joins the player with ability of vision and the gun breaks it
Fun to play. Beautiful Palette.
:D
It would be nice if you couldn't switch between your torch and gun so quickly because now I can have my torch out most of the time, get close to an enemy, switch to my gun and spam click to kill them all. Besides that it is a really fun game with a nice sound track.
thanks!
I really like the weapon and light switching mechanic. I reckon if you have some more time, lean into the spooky horror aspects, because it has great atmosphere. Not being able to see enemies out of your line of sight would be awesome, and having more linear stages like something from Left 4 Dead would probably be more interesting than a maze. Really fun things here though, I like it!
thx
