Now THAT was really awesome!! I really enjoyed this game a lot, trying to keep switching the keys was actually really hard and made me realize I basically only know how to spell words from muscle memory at this point and don't actually just /remember/ where several of the keys are on a keyboard.

One small thing I want to mention, I am SUPER positive this is Unreal because of the damned
SteamVR popup. It's a SUPER easy fix. You just disable the plugin in Unreal. I know it causes issues with some people, we had the problem last year, but I was able to close it and play fine.

Overall though great job!! Keep it up!

Glad you had fun! Great tip on the steamVR thing. Never had the issue myself, so I would never have known. Thanks for playing!

This was groovy. Looks good and plays well. One concern I have is that you can press more keys than you are prompted, so I can just press as many keys as possible as a strategy. I think the game is more fun when I try to be accurate. And some keyboards (like a cheap office one) can only register so many key presses at once. Just something to think about.

Developer

Yeah we didn't get solving the "press all the keys" problem, largely because we didn't know how to message it clearly when you failed because of it. And yeah, this project has revealed to us that those cheaper keyboards come with a restraint. Thanks for playing!

Nice job! It keeps getting more and more difficult, I like how the camera changes and the graphics are really neat. Great job on this game, it's a lot of fun!

This game stretched the limits of what even my long, bony fingers could do. Really cool idea, and gorgeous art work. The music and sounds are also great. The voice over sounded damn near professional for a jam game.

A couple things, though:

  • Feedback for succeeding or failing at the key prompts could be a little more pronounced. The record scratch was neat, but you could make it a little less subtle, and maybe even add some visual flair with celebratory particle effects when getting it right or something.
  • Sometimes, the letter shapes coonfused me, I couldn't distinguish Us from Vs, or Ds from Os, if you can give the alphabet a more distinct, unambiguous shape, that'll also be great.

Overall, excellent concept and great job on the execution, this is an awesome entry!

Thanks for the kind words. We wanted to add more to the feedback, but never got to it. Screenshake and the letter going red was what we had planned.  And yeah, we were aware of the font difficulty in spots, but just ran out of time to address haha.  Thanks again for playing!

This was very a very interesting setup.  I didn't really seem to get any difference when pressing keys on the beat or off of it, or maybe I just didn't quite understand the visual prompt.  If I were to compare it to music it was a little like sight-reading without a clef.  If it'd been written on staves I would've had to spend time fingering it first before trying to play it :D  But it was definitely quite unique.  ^_^  Thanks for making it!

This is such a cute and well executed idea! Me and my tiny hands struggled a bit,  but that didn't stop it from still being fun!

really fun to play, and a cool take on rhythm games, the only issue I had wasn't with the game itself it was just my keyboard doesn't recognize more than 3 inputs at a time, once again great job!

Looks great! I love the graphics, never saw pixel art in 3d xD. Very cool idea! I love rhythm games! Good job!

The voice over on the tutorial is great, and the concept is REALLY cool, got me with my fingers doing some twister movements on my keyboard! Really well done, very polished!

Nicely done!   it   was   very  fun   to play

I   really   liked  the   concept   and   the   mechanics!

The narration and overall style is really fun! The game itself gets frantically hard quite fast but it's still quite enjoyable.

Cool music and camera moving! Make me feel like I'm that DJ in the pool. I enjoyed it a lot! Great work!

Great tutorial and simple controls with an easy learning curve.

Fun idea executed very well. Love the moving camera too!

Exciting to see a music based game come from a jam.

The voice of the tutorial its so nice, the game is awesome, very simple idea but really addictive.

The font is the only anoying thing, its hard to difference some letters.

However, it's nice work! Congrats!

Very nice tutorial with a voice that explains how the game works.

However, i recommend you to change the font of the letters. "V" and "U", as well as "D" and "O" are difficult to tell apart, especially in the later course of the game.

Pressing the right keys almost felt like i was playing on a piano. Unfortunately the music didn't catch that feeling i had.

Overall i really enyojed your game. Always nice to see that music games have also made it into the jam. Great work.

Really cool way of introducing the mechanic. The onboarding was not hard and the learning curve in the game is great! Great way of giving feedback to the player by the use of sound as well. I really liked the game.

Developer

Thanks for playing! The onboarding was a late add, but we're happy with how it turned out.
