How does your game fit the theme?
Robojoin is a Robot with the special talent to split into two, and join back together! They can control both parts independently. Legs can jump higher, and the upper body can crawl into tight spaces. Joined together, Robojoin can shoot their eye blaster!

All is with the caveat that I'm pretty bad at platformers in general ^_^ I definitely found the mechanics interesting. I think the first couple levels were nice with the puzzles. The third level, however, saw me get "stuck" with arms on one side of an insurmountable barrier (which I was no doubt supposed to go the other direction to do something with *before* I jumped legs over the barrier to remove a future obstacle... but 'e couldn't get back since the return journey was too high for legs double-max-jump. I went looking for a reset of some sort, but since it's more a platformer than a puzzler, it had none.
I do wish that control would default to 1 (legs) instead of 2 (arms) when splitting, because most of the time that's what's required for progress. I also found myself wishing that the recombine didn't cause the character to surge forward (that sent me off the edge a couple of times XD )
I guess the only other thing, about the controls - I wish the "shoot" option had a keyboard alternative, since everything else was keyboard it would have been much more convenient for me.
I really liked the music and thought the visuals quite hung together well. Really great job! Thanks for the fun game ^_^ Cheers!
Thank you for the great comment and detailed feedback! I hope to work on it some more in the future :D
Very cool idea, I really enjoy the game
Thanks for trying it out :D
The visuals are near perfection. Truly gorgeous pixel work IMO. Looking at your Itch page there is distinct artistic growth with each entry. As an aspiring artist, this is inspiring to me.
I like the core mechanic of splitting the robot, and it fits the theme well, but it could be expanded upon. The puzzles felt sort of samey after a few. Legs go over, torso goes under. Movement in general could feel faster, especially as the torso. These flaws are understandable given the tight 48 hour limit.
Overall, very impressive. Doubly so as a solo submission. Well done ^_^
Wow thanks for the super awesome comment/feedback :D I really appreciate it!
This has a really cool, mellow atmosphere and I like the combination of puzzles with combat.
Thanks a bunch for playing :D I chose the super mellow music early, so as I play tested it was a calming experience haha
Loved the concept and great art! You came up with some awesome puzzles too. Jumping feels a bit heavy but just took some time to adapt to it! Well done!!
Thank you Manisha~~ I will try your game after work for sure :D
The graphics and art in general are amazing.
The idea of the robot splitting in half is well executed and the movement feels great!
P.S. Robot platformers are the best. Great minds think alike :)
Thanks for playing! I will check your game out after work :D
looks super polished and there are respawn points, which is great
Thanks for playing!! Yeah I figured out repawn points last year :D
Really cool!
Thanks for playing! I'll try your game if you share a link :D
Fun game. I like the mechanics.
Thanks a bunch! Glad it was a bit of fun :D
Really fun platformer with a good mechanic that fits the theme well. There is some interesting puzzles. The game looks really good, overall a great job!
Thanks LlamaDev! I'll try your game after work :D
Looks cool! Sometimes could not get the double jump to work! Great work.
Thanks a lot for playing :D I didn't have a chance to add coyote time with the jump. Also make sure you hold down jump to get the highest jump possible~
This was just top notch. Great spin on the theme, good art direction and fun.
Skeffles hello~~~ Thanks for playing! I'll check out yours after work, and catch up on your YouTube :D (Last week was crazy busy haha)
Really love the game, the art looks amazing, especially for a 48 hour jam. I would've personally made the switching a single button, but besides that it's awesome!
Thanks a bunch for playing! I tried making the switching single button, but my coding is terrible so it would glitch a lot haha. Double button seemed to work the safest hehe. Thanks again :D
This is a super cool game! I think there are some situations where the game can be softlocked, but aside from that it's a really fun concept and it's super polished
Thanks so much for playing! I found a few after playing it too haha. I'll try and fix them after the voting is over :D I'll make some more levels too, cuz it was fun to do a platforming game again after awhile!
Great Art and mechanics. Only feedback is if switching between top and bottom could have been done with left and right mouse click. But. that's just a personal opinion.
BTW, Would love for you to try my game too.
It is an Action Platformer with unique controls.

Thanks a bunch! I definitely should have picked a few key options haha.
I'll try your game after work :D
Very good game. Solid concept. The problem though is very-very unresponsive double jump when combined.
Other than that completed your full game :>
Wow that is awesome! Thanks so much for playing all the way haha. Not sure why the double jump got so weird in the browser version. Works fine on the PC version (That I forgot to upload too haha) Thanks again!! :D
Great pixel art!
The jumps in the game felt really strange, for example, when you are jumping with the full robot, you could barely jump, I like how the legs jump higher (as they are the legs), but it brings out the second problem with the jump, as it is inconsistent, which is due to the jump setting the motion instead of adding to it, witch can be a good idea, but with the air time, it leads to vastly difrent jumps, and not being able to tell how high I can jump.
But I know you couldn't have polished the jump as much because of dev pain with the splitting mechanic sooo yea. relatable here, I had to add a timer that prevents you from jumping in my game so you wouldn't fly, so :P.
But overall a great game with great pixel art and levels :)
Thanks for the awesome feed back! I used code for the jump that makes it so when you tap the jump is small and when you hold down the jump goes to max height. I think it is buggy in the browser version, seems to work fine on my computer. It was intended that the full robot had a smaller jump for the puzzles (and the reason to use the legs) Thanks again :D
You are welcome :)
Really cool game idea! Also great pixel art considering it's all made in 48 hours!
Thanks! I used a mega man sprite sheet to help make it quickly haha. (Also recolored/altered some asset I had before)
The game is amazing, it looks and feels great, the levels are nice puzzles, i can really imagine this getting fleshed out into a full platforming game. On a side note, I had the funniest bug appear: after respawning, there were 2 robots standing right next to each other! once I had jumped off a cliff (with both of them) a there were suddenly 3 full robots and i could steer all of them! They even bumped into each other xD 5/5 simply for that :)
Haha that is an anwesome bug and totally intended XD
Thanks for the great comment! I will try and fix it and add some more levels :D
Super cool! Great pixelart as usual and the gameplay is fun and different. Great stuff😁
Thanks bro! I will try your game for sure after work :D
