Really cool game. I love the mechanic that you have 20 extra seconds when one player dies to catch extra bees. The art is simple and looks great. Fun game!

Developer

Thanks a lot. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Got no friends to play together with me in quarantine, so this is really a challenge for my multitasking ability :) The music is so calm and pleasant, and the artwork is simple but it looks so cute. Well done! By the way, it's so terrifying that my head got chopped off by the bees...

Developer

I'm glad you managed to play it anyway. Quarantine definitely sucks. Hopefully this will all be behind us soon.

Thanks for playing :) hope you had a lot of fun in this jam.

Super unexpected lol. Nice work!

Developer

Thanks again for playing. I had a blast watching you react to it :)

I like the changes in music for the final rush! I enjoyed the pulling together when we got too far apart. It was a little hard to tell when a bee stung me or when I caught a bee though. Great work!

Developer

thanks a lot. It was nice to see you play it. :)

Game : "Catch the butterflies and the bees."
Me : "Oh, a cute little game !"
Me, 5 seconds later : "WHAT HAVE I DONE T_T ?"

Nice little game ! I enjoyed the concept : simple but efficient =).

Developer

Hahaha that's exactly the reaction I was aiming for :)

Thanks a lot for playing. Glad that you liked it :)

xD Oh my god they explode and die. very cute game, I feel like if I had someone else here to play with me it would be a lot of fun! My hand eye coordination isn't good enough to move both at the same time very well lol

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks a lot for playing.

I'm glad you had fun :) Don't hesitate to give it another go if you find someone to play with. ;)

Submitted

I defiantly will!

Reminded me of the Flash-era games.

Well done.

BTW, Would love for you to try my game too.

It is an Action Platformer with unique controls.

Funny theme, gameplay is good but hard to pull off, sometimes it was too easy, sometimes too difficult.

Developer (1 edit)

Not sure what you mean by that. Maybe the spawn rate ? The bugs behavior ? Don't hesitate to elaborate if you have time. :)

Anyway, thanks for giving it a try. hope you still managed to have fun with it.

Submitted

Would have been nice with a clearer difficulty curve, maybe waves system? the bees were kinda hard to predict/avoid. Some more balance in the spawning rate and more anticipation for enemy movements/behaviour is also needed.
Right now, the mechanics i think also get old very quickly, there is no new discovery or surprises over time, so the gameplay is "short".
Hopefully, that makes more sense :)

Developer(+1)

Makes perfect sense. Hopefully I'll get to that if I iterate on that game.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer :)

I got decapitated with 26 points haha. I played this single player controlling both character, which I'm not sure made it easier or harder. It took me a second to realize I was supposed to be killing the bugs. The first few splats were alarming haha. Once I got the hang of it though, I really enjoyed it. Simple and fun concept, and I love the goofy animations! Well done.

Developer (1 edit)

Yes, having to coordinate your movement with someone else bring a whole other kind of difficulty to it. It might be easier to get a higher score playing solo. :)

Thanks a lot for playing. I'm glad you liked it.

This is soooo silly! I love it!

Even while playing alone, this is a lot of fun. The losing animation makes no sense at all (except if maybe the characters suffer from EXTREME allergies to bee stings), but it somehow fits perfectly into it all. It's just a fun mini-game, nothing bad to say! ^^

Very good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much. I'm glad you had fun with it :)

Love the use of the theme on this game! Was really fun! Loved the pixel art and use of colours! and the music and changes that happen when you lose is amazing! Chefs kiss! Great work! :D

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing. I'm glad you liked it and  I really enjoyed the stream. Cheers :)

hehe, that was fun when i could play with one guy after second one was killed:)

game is nicely done and fun to play! nice job!

i think i was playing how i should, but caught butterflies were leaving bloody stains after being caught - it looks a but cruel, maybe you can replace it with something 'nicer'

Developer(+1)

Haha ! Yes that was on purpose. I kinda wanted to trick player into doing something they didn't fully expect and create a big contrast between the ambiance and the action. :)

Glad You had fun, and sorry for making you kill butterflies :)

Not many jam games have me smiling from start to finish, that was surprisingly fun even by myself! I imagine it would be far better with another. Thank you!

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing. I'm glad you liked it :)

Interesting concept well done! Maybe some explanation in-game would have make the game easier to understand (I struggled a bit to understand the goal) 😁

Developer (1 edit)

Hey. Thank you for the feedback.

I was sure the "how to play" page was clear enough but it's true that some things that are obvious to the dev can be way less obvious for the player. Don't hesitate to tell what information you think was missing in there. :)

Submitted

I didn't quite understand what was good to do and what was not 😅 Indeed both bees and butterflies die when you touch them and I struggled to understand when the player is hit and lost heart 😢

Developer(+1)

there's actually some small collisions issues when bees that should sting the player get caught by  the net sometimes. That's might be confusing indeed. unfortunatly I noticed it a bit late and didn't had enough time to fix it.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer :)

Submitted

I didn't have anyone to play with so this game was a little awkward, which was expected. I still liked what you had going especially with the spring back when you extend the net too far.

On a more flavor note my initial thought was "man why did that butterfly leave a pool of blood." Then one of my guys lost their head and everything made sense.

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing. glad you managed to have fun playing it solo.  :)

Submitted(+1)

So cute! The music is so nice! Definitely recommend playing with a friend

Watching people play this on streams is hilarious! Good job!

Thank you so much :)

I am here for the Adventure Time reference yay

Developer

Hahaha. yes, obvious reference. I'm glad someone catched it :)

I think this was really nice for a jam game- many people did rope mechanics, but this was actually fun. And it has a twist at the end, great!

Developer(+1)

Thanks again. It was nice to see you play & react to it.
