Nice and easy to lern!
Thank you!
Really nice game. The gameplay mechanic is pretty cool and you guys found a lot of interesting ways to use it, I’m impressed you made so many levels for a game jam. And of course I loved the little touch with the evolving soundtrack. Kudos to the team!
Thank you for your review!
Glad you enjoyed our game and the adaptive music!
Loved this game more than I can put into words, but I'll try! I thought I was playing a basic platformer, decided to keep playing because I'm a music theory nerd and your idea to build the score up by LITTERALY building a band was making me smile. Then I got to the first level where you have to utilize the different-height jump mechanic and HOLY SMOKES, the "jump" in complexity threw me for a loop and made me realize this thing is so much more than a basic platformer with a neat music mechanic! Every level after that was so well thought out and utilized the mechanics to their fullest extent, I can totally see myself playing a full version of this if you add some story and more levels, hell, I'll even pitch in and voice the dwarfs for you!
The intro to that jump size difference is my one critique, I had no idea what I was doing wrong and a tooltip explaining the mechanic would've been appreciated.
Wow, I’m speechless reading your comment, thank you so much, it really means a lot to us!
We have a numch of music enthusiasts in the team so we always try to include some level of "adaptiveness" to our games and really thought this would fit well with our choice of game and design.
We really wanted to add some level but we fell short on time unfortunately. The difficulty curve is known to be a bit steep but it should be beatable.
Believe it or not, we actually had a tooltip to teach the jump height mechanic but we tried to teach ir through level design, to follow the "Show, don’t tell" design principle, well, I guess the show part wasn’t obvious enough! We need to think a bit more on this.
If we ever continue this game and are in need of voice acting for our dwarves, we’ll be sure to send a message your way! :)
Was fun and loved the art. I really like how the music joined together with the dwarves.
Thanks! Glad you noticed and liked our music mechanic!
This was a lot of fun to play! The dwarfs are so funny and the main mechanic was used in interesting ways, I loved the puzzles :) such a polished game!
Thank you very much for the kind words!
Looks awesome, I haven't seen many games with this vector art style! The music is also very fitting :)
Thank you! Glad you like our game!
When first introduced to the game mechanic, I didn't really think it could be used that much and only generate a limited amount of puzzles. Glad you guys showed me wrong and used the game mechanic to its full extent. There was one level where you have to use the springs and then change your hitbox mid-air to hit another spring. It's moments like that where the genius in level design shows. The dwarves adding to the music was a nice touch too :). Only complaint was that it took a while to figure out your jump height is shortened with more dwarves, but it didn't take too long. Solid game overall!
Wow, thank you very much for your feedback, glad you appreciated it!
We had a tooltip text to teach you that specific mechanic but we thought that building a level which sole purpose was to teach you this would be enough but looks like it wasn’t as clear as we planned, definitely something we’ll remember for the future!
You managed to give your game a lot of personality! The puzzles are well thought-out and challenging in a good way.
The music is just great :) !
Thank you very much for your nice review!
Absolutely loved the sound layering with the dwarf instruments! Fantastic stuff. Don't see too much consideration into sound beyond the basics in Game Jams so this was a wonderful little feature.
Thank you very much, we appreciate it!
We always try to add some "adaptiveness" in our game music so we’re glad you noticed and liked it!
This is great, I love having the music change based on the dwarves in your party! I felt a couple of mechanics weren't communicated super well, such as having a lower jump height on springs if you have more dwarves, but otherwise the game was charming and fun to play I thought! Nice work!
Thank you for your review!
Glad you liked the interactive part of the music, it was very fun to do!
We tried to teach the jump height mechanic through the first level that introduces the mechanic but looks like it wasn't enough, haha
Oh, I see that now! Yeah, it kind of went over my head for me the first time, but live and learn.
Music: Great - Very nice how all the dwarves played together while flying over sharp objects.
Mechanic: Interesting
Game: Fun
I liked the violin dwarf.
Comment: great
Answer: thank you!
The violon dwarf thanks you as well !
I really like how each dwarf added to the soundtrack
top score for polish.
really good game
Thank you, glad you appreciated it !
The soundtrack and sound effects are top-notch; I feel the action and sound FX fit perfectly. Super clever concept to use multiple characters to move around, great puzzle, and beautiful pixel art, that game is perfect!
J'adore les gars ! 5 Stars!
Merci beaucoup !
And thanks for the french words, haha!
We’re very glad you enjoyed our sounds and music, we did work quite a bit on them so it’s very cool that you liked it!
Thank you very much for the nice comment :)
Great job. I like the concept. The art and the music fit well. Great entry.
Thank you for your feedback :)
I just love the concept, with all the dwarves having their own instruments and adding to the music when you gather them.
Great puzzles !
Thank you! Having each dwarf play an instrument was a very early idea that we really liked to implement, glad you liked it!
This game is brilliant, it had some hard puzzles in there and I loved it. A cool brain teaser with loads of charm, great music and a charming premise. Awesome entry!!
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed our little game! :)
A great little game. I didn't think I would have as much fun as I did just swapping dwarves around but here we are! I think with some extra time to polish up the level design there's a really solid little game here. Dwarf sprites were great :D
Thanks for the kind words!
Who knew swapping dwarves around could such fun, right? :D
The level design does need a bit more work but we did what we could :)
Amazing game with great mechanics. Love great art and music.
Thank you !
This game is amazing! I really had fun and each level was so fun to play! Sometimes, the difficulty gap is a bit consistent, but the balance is pretty good though. The art is simple but effective. And I love how the concept is used in the level design!
Thank you for your feedback !
The difficulty curve and the order of the different level was definitely something we would have wanted to work on for a bit longer but 48 hours it is !
So fun, on theme, and great graphics, sound effects, and music!
Thank you !
