The concept of this game is so brilliant! All of the level design is very well made and the controls feel very smooth. The artwork is simple but looks pretty good. Nice work! However, as more and more parallel selves appearing, the game becomes more and more difficult and that kind of multitasking is a little difficult for me. But anyway, this is a good game! Really fantastic work for 48 hours!

Developer

Thank you very much. I am glad you liked it. We know of the problem with the multitasking, you were talking about. We are already working on it.  Thank you for your feedback.

This was a lot of fun, a great shooter/puzzle combo.  You also did a great job with animating the screens into place.  I found the game a lot o fun, but I would suggest that the bullets be a little bigger so that they are easier to notice.  All in all, great job!

Developer

Thanks :D The bullets will be larger in the new version. Glad you liked it.

This is a really clever mechanic! It gets really frantic trying to keep track of all the different bullets and parallel versions of yourself jumping around. The art is also really nice and clean and the game is overall a really enjoyable experience. Would like to see what other levels/mechanics you'd add on top of this!

Developer

Thanks I am glad you liked it. We will start working on a new version right after the rating time is over.

This is a cool idea!  Trying to keep track of the different selves and kill/sync them is an interesting mechanic, and the dynamic difficulty changes depending on how you play are a nice touch.  The controls felt smooth for the most part, and the visuals are nice and simple.  The main issue I noticed is that the small map makes it practically impossible to avoid enemies once there are around five or more of them, which causes the game to devolve into shooting/syncing randomly and hoping you don't get shot until the enemies are reduced to a more manageable number.  This could probably be fixed pretty easily with a larger map or with a more consolidated way to indicate enemy locations.  The only other area that could use improvement is the sound, but its pretty difficult to get sound right in the limited time of a jam.  Aside from those things, this game is a lot of fun to play and has a super interesting idea.  I think it would have a lot of potential to be expanded into a larger game if you cleaned it up a bit and added some new mechanics.  Great work!

Developer

You mentiond an interesting point there with the larger maps. When we  were design the game we also thought of using a larger map. The problem with a larger map is, that when make it even a bit larger, we multible the change every time the screen gets split again. This would mean, that everything on the screen would become smaller and isn't as easy to recognize. However if we didn't let the world split that many times, we could probably make the map larger. We are thinking in the moment of ways for the player to have a better sense of what is going on, so maybe we will do that.

Thanks for you feedback. I am glad you enjoyed it :D

Very nice job - it reminds me of this steam game (which I can't remember the name for) where you cannot see your opponent in a 3D shooter so you have to peek on their screen to know their location, then shoot at them. I think this is a great idea and well implemented in 2D. It's a lot of fun and with a bit of polishing this could turn out amazingly! Good job!

I am happy that you liked the game. Thanks for your feedback :D

I really enjoyed playing this and thought it was a unique take on the theme. The enemy “AI” actually felt quite good which I think is impressive for a jam game. I think the sweet spot was at 1-3 parallel selves.

Developer(+1)

Thanks I am very happy to hear that you enjoyed our game as well. You are probaply right with the sweet spot. In the moment we are brainstorming for good solutions how to change that. Thanks for the feedback :D

The idea is really great and was a fun play. However, I believe that the design doesn't have that much skill or intuition involved in it. At a certain point, it becomes cognitive overload, you are unable to focus on every aspect on the screen so you feel out of control. Art style and effects are very pleasing though

i like the parallel dimension idea, the art style and animation was nice control is a bit wonky, the different dimension moving around the screen was smooth and awesome but it does not fill in all the different player which causes confusion like "where did this guy came from?!" this might be best for multiplayer since it plays well with other player than ai not only that it makes the sync mechanics much more reliable like a thump card

good game :D

The tutorial helps. To me it is clear enough as a guide. The movement speed and control are easy. It is a really NICE GAME actually. Not to mention, quite creative too, to simulate it this way.
I wish there's a background music and maybe change the sound effect for when player tries to sync because to me, the existing one really reminds me of the beeping machine in the hospital haaha, which makes me uncomfortable. It would add another pointers too if developer add a 'Syncing Success' element big on the screen once syncing is done, like a celebration. It will make players feel the joy of the victory.
COOL GAME Moepeldimoep :)

Thanks Moepeldimoep and I really tryed to do something different then was expected. I'm glad to hear that the tutorial helped you, because some people said that it wasn't detailed enough.

Thanks for your feedback :D

Eyyyy I am getting Rick and Morty vibes here am I right? :D Not gonna lie 7 parallel are too much for me to handle. I get lost and it's just luck. But the great game, well done!

xD Thanks.

Nice, but really raw idea

Thanks :D We are glad you liked it.

Great idea!

A little confusing, but fun. I liked the way the screens reordered themselves.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks :D Im glad that you enjoed it.

Cool idea, thought I couldn't pay attention to that many screen, just shot randomly and it worked.

it reminds me of that rick and morty episode - nice mechanics

Developer

Thanks :D

I enjoyed it once i got the hang of it! Two bits i struggled with though:

  • the tutorial didn't adequately explain what I was looking for. if this were a longer project I'd like to see an interactive tutorial that paused at key moments to highlight your projectile and the parralel projectiles to show you what's happening. I had to stumble through a few until i sat and waited for the timer to expire, then go back to the tutorial knowing more of what i was looking for to understand
  • The game requires your attention to be in too many parts of the screen at once. I understand this could be seen as part of the difficulty, but it felt frustrating to lose by running into a bullet when i was looking at the other side of my screen to line up a shot. putting a player ghost in every level could fix this, but I understand it'd ruin some of the concept, just making it multiple side scroller shooters in one.

All that said though, I really enjoyed playing it once I got the hang of it. I agree w/ Bennett Johnson's comment about projectile visibly as well, would help a bit with my second comment.

Developer

We definitely update and improve the tutorial in a future version and have notes the problems you mentioned. Thanks for your detailed feedback. :D

This is my favorite game so far! It reminds me of Rick and Morty A Rickle in Time episode.

Developer

Thanks :D

I like it kinda like 2d screencheat. I think more visible/larger projectiles would be nice to better see where you're getting shot from.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your feedback. We gonna change that in a future version.

Depending on your actions, your parallel self's will act differently. If the player acts aggressive and mostly eliminates his opponents, they will also act more aggressive. Plus the world will be split more times then normal. If you use sync instead, your parallel self's will act less violent too. This means that by using sync more often, the game actually gets easier.

We will add this explanation in a future version to the tutorial. Thanks for playing and your feedback.

Cool game . Interesting point of view to theme.
