This game is extremely aesthetically pleasing. The sunlight from the sun looks dope as heck and the music is really unique and stands out to me. My only complaint is that I kept breaking my probe accidentally and sometimes I think I lost but I wasn't sure? There wasn't a ton of direction or hints with the UI that I would've liked to see. But overall, cool job, I had fun.

Oh man, I loved this so much. It's such a cool concept, the progression is good, and between the visuals and audio it is just beautiful. My only complaints are the couple bugs (I couldn't find a reset button when I lost, and replaying it after winning was odd) and the fact that death and the price increases are a little more punitive than I think they need to be; misjudging the length of your tether will completely ruin you. Awesome job.
I really liked your game! I love the art style and the music! I especially liked when the sun lit up on the title screen to start the game. I kept breaking my probes while trying to navigate the menu but other than that if the idea gets expanded on this could be a fully released game! Excellent work!
the low res look works well and does more with less. I also had a bit of a jump scare when the first planet exploded! I had to restart several times before I figured out what was going on - it's a bit odd that you start with no probes and have to buy one at the start... and then if you're like me, immediately lose it by clicking too far away. Fun and meditative though.
Yeah, our tutorial was lackluster when actually explaining what to do. Thanks for giving it a try though!
If you're still interested in getting some fun out of it, I can explain how to play here:
Press the sun on the main screen to start (due to a bug, there's supposed to be a play button but it doesn't appear). Your player is the tiny satellite with the smallest orbit around the sun. You start off with nothing but a few resources, and to get more you need to upgrade your satellite in the upgrade menu (accessed from the top-right). There are four types of upgrades: More probes, longer rope, faster mining, and efficient mining. To start you can buy one probe with your resources, and a rope coming from the player will appear. It follows your mouse and when you pull it too far it becomes taught and can go no farther. By clicking on a planet you can attach the probe to it and start mining, but be warned! If the probe goes out of the ropes range while attached to a planet, the probe will be destroyed. The goal of the game is to get some upgrades and mine the sun. If you break all of your probes and cant afford more, that's how you lose.
Lol glancing at the jam description seeing probes and planets I thought this was gonna be the Mass Effect "mini-game" but this was much more pleasant! It very relaxing and calming, but also very pretty to look at. Great effects and everything! Was a little confusing at first, I didn't even know where my ship was first round but after a bit I got the hang of it. Very well done!!
Very pretty, colorful explosions, v nice. You make all that bloom look easy lol
The music / graphics are amazing! The gameplay was a bit confusing to start, though I eventually worked out what I was supposed to do...
Really though, awesome job on the music =)...
This took a minute for me to figure out, but once I did I started to really dig it. Even when I'm playing poorly, it's fun to watch all of these objects orbit about. The aesthetics are all really nice too, the glows off of the bodies and the spacey music make a real nice audio visual experience to go along with the gameplay.
