I just played this game with my nephew and had a great time! This is also the first time I’ve played Peggle The level with air balloon was a bit difficult for both of us, but once we got the hang of it, it was very enjoyable!

We couldn’t get enough of it - “ah how can it be over in just a few levels” - and visually the backgrounds were quiet and fairytale beautiful, and these point were very cozy! My nephew found the bullet-time mechanic that I had not noticed.I noticed a faint square edge at the ball sprite, which could be improved to give a more subtle effect!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for sharing, it really motivated me to hear you enjoyed it with your nephew.

Glad to hear you found the game and levels enjoyable!

Another Peggle fan, huh? xD

Very pretty visuals, especially the level completion. I like the idea of managing dashes, but it was pretty hard to time them while also finding a strategy for where to go.

The win condition was also a little hard to figure out at first - I eventually realized that there was a target score, and that hitting a few pegs gave me more dashes - but I still don't know if the green pegs did anything special.

I also must admit that "instead of controlling the cannon" isn't quite true, since we also aim the first shot. Personally, I would've preferred if every level had a premade shot angle and after hitting the first peg, you could start dashing. Or something of that nature. That way, you'd stay true to what you said.

Great job nonetheless!

Developer

Haha yeah our initial plan was to have it so that the initial shot was from a canon with a pre-set direction, but we didn't have time to implement it. I agree that that would have made more sense with the "Reverse Roles" theme.

Also regarding the confusion of the goal and exactly how the dash system works, we didn't really have time to implement any "tutorial" or anything like that. I know its a bit confusing :P But the green pegs gives you 2 dashes, blue pegs gives 10 points, red pegs gives 50 points.
You also gain dashes for every 3rd peg you hit, regardless of color.

Thanks for all the feedback, we'll take it with us for our next game :)

Fun idea, and very well executed! The game was a bit to fast for my liking, as the bounces could be a bit unpredictable, but other than that, very cool!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah we had some trouble balancing the game, and agree that the unpredictable bouncing made it hard to plan how you wanted to move. Thanks for the feedback and trying out the game!

I had a bit of a hard time with the first level, but once I understood the mechanics I actually really enjoyed playing this game ! This could become a very fun mobile game :)

Developer

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that!

Well executed ad fun! Would love to see more expansion on this game in the future!

Thank you for your kind words! :)

Incredibly polished, but as someone who's never played Peggle (I concede I'm probably not the target audience) a lot of it didn't make much sense to me:

-I think either a thing to show the trajectory of the ball when you line up a shot or just making the targets larger would be nice. A lot of times I thought I was lining up a great shot, but then ended up whiffing by a small margin. This is probably a skill issue, but some amount of guidance would be nice for getting into it

-How you actually get another shot wasn't very clear to me - I assume it's just hitting a lot of pegs with one shot, but the specific threshhold would have been nice to know. Even just like a meter to the side showing how close you are to another throw would be greatly appreciated.

In any case, I had a lot of fun just seeing how long of a combo I could get. Great work!

Developer

Thank you so much for taking time to write your feedback.

Regarding how to refill your dashes that part wasn't clear because we didn't have time to implement a way of displaying it within the game. But essentially every 3rd score you got would also give you a dash charge. Your idea with a meter to the side is a great idea, thanks for that!

We didnt really have enough time to playtest and balance everything, so I appreciate the feedback regarding it being a bit too difficult to aim, a trajectory indicatory would probably work very well.

Lovely game! Was quite fun to play!

Developer

Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it!

Fun little game! I just wish there were more levels to play with!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, agreed. We could probably have added in one or two more levels. We tried to make sure we had enough time to polish the game with the few levels we had rather than take too much water over our heads with too many levels. But its nice to hear that the game was enjoyable enough for you to finish it! :)

Really cool idea. Good Job!

Developer

Thank you very much! :)

Quite addicting (at least for me), and you really nailed the level clear screen! I feel like level 2 is the toughest of the bunch, but besides that, good job.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yeah we had some different ideas of how to design the levels, so they are a bit differently made which made it hard to decide in what order to play them. But yeah I agree that level 2 might be a bit too tricky, maybe we should have lowered the score requirement for that one or placed it as a later level. We tried to keep the score requirements down to a pretty low level to make sure you wouldnt get stuck on a level for too long, but we didn't really playtest with any new players.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the game!

-Enjoyment: Wow that was awesome! The controls for the ball were great and I loved the slow-mo, it helped me plan were to air bounce next!

-Creativity: Super creative and cool controls, you should keep working on it!

-Presentation: Everything looks crisp and great! Great game feel/juice too!

-Neat game indeed!! Please check out my non-creative entry when you can :D

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Really glad you enjoyed it. We made sure to keep the scope fairly small for the game so we could focus a lot on the feel/juice, so I'm happy to  hear you appreciated it.

I'll make sure to check out your game as well! :)

wow it was really polished! how many hours IS your 48 hours?! :)))

great game dude, a really nice job

Developer(+1)

Haha thanks! We were two people working on it together, so we had 96 hours :) But we spent a lot of time working on it during the weekend so I'm glad it shows. Thank you for the kind words! :)

It was fun! The concept is very creative, the visuals are pretty nice, and the music and sfx are good too. But I didn't understand how sometimes you can dash somewhere and sometimes you can't, I thought it depended on combos, but seemed pretty random.

Developer

Yeah, we didn't really make it clear how the dash recharge works in the game itself, but essentially you gain a dash charge for every 3 scores you gain. So you need to bounce of 3 pegs to get 1 dash. Or you get 2 dashes if you bounce on a green peg.
Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it! :)

I love Peggle and this spin on it is great. Controls pretty well, but sometimes it does feel as if I'm not getting some of my jumps back and that the jump may be a little too low, but still a fun time.

Developer

Thanks, yeah the dash/jump recharges every 3rd score you get, so you don't get it back based on a timer. We could have done a better job of explaining it within the game itself.
Thanks for the feedback and glad to hear you enjoyed it! :)

Feels lovely, except for the slowdown when you hold the mouse. If you just click, it works as intended.

Love the concept, although I made a Peggle themed game myself as well! Aaaand I've just rated a third Peggle based game (also beautifully presented). Starting to think my amazing idea wasn't so original now...

I finished the first couple of levels, but couldn't do the third. It's quite tricky to control! Maybe it could be improved by going into a sort of super-slo-mo when you hold the mouse? Perhaps that would give you a moment to decide where you want to go next...

Amazing work for 48 hours!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, we really appreciate that.

Regarding the slowdown when you hold the mouse its intended to be as you say, a type of slow-motion to help give you time to aim each dash, but it was probably not implemented in the best way and we could have made it a bit more clear that you can use it.

Yeah I've noticed a few Peggle inspired games as well :D I'll definitely give yours a try!

High quality stuff! Youve got some great feedback and punchy gameplay

Developer

Thanks! Yeah we tried to keep the scope down to make sure we had time to polish. Happy to hear that it paid off!

Cool peggle inspired game ^^

Developer

Yeah I tried your game as well. Fun that we both decided to base our games of Peggle :D
