Wow, that's a really clever concept! I'd love to play a version with (more robust) enemy pathfinding and different/remappable keybinds (z and x were hard for me to use while wasd'ing :p switching via scrollwheel might be interesting?)

Developer

i thought about using scroll wheel, not sure why i didn't. wouldn't be hard to implement either, so if i possibly finish this game one day, that will definitely be an option!

keybinds are a whole other thing, that i don't know how to do yet lol

Damn, a perfect example of a 2nd person game, awesome! Made for a really enjoyable time with the manic switching between cameras and ricocheting bullets! Would have loved some sounds as well but overall it was really fun, nice job! :D

thanks for playing!

I love this take on the jam theme! There are definitely improvements to be made, but this is a great start to a really interesting action game. I had to use my brain in ways I am not used to since I am so hard programmed to think I am in charge of the camera.

I think this is an interesting idea of how you could make a "second-person" shooter game. Some feedback I have:

  1. Start the level on the nearest enemy
  2. Selecting the next enemy should only select alive ones
  3. Lingering on a dead enemy kinda removes the "enemy perspective" if you just stay on screen
  4. I had some issues finding my way to the last enemy if it gets stuck

Nevertheless, it was a fun experience, and great job making the concept work!

Developer

nice ideas! i tried to solve a few of these problems but couldn't find a good (and working) solution in time, so they're definitely things i'll try to improve later

Really unique idea for a game, well done!

Def an out of body experience ;) The concept is very novel and very cool, some visual or audio indicators that someone is close to you when you are offscreen would help a lot as well.  Nice Job!

Cool idea. I was really disoriented at first but I think that was the point. Nice job.

Was very confused at first eventually figured it out though. Some kind of tutorial would've been helpful. Besides that, cool concept and nice execution!

Developer

i probably should've made clearer that the "more" button includes controls

First I was like: ok. Then I noticed the bullets ricochet. A great trick - which I think you already know - is to find an enemy and let they chase while being close. That way I managed to always have the camera on myself.

Survived until wave 10 on first try.

YEOUCH! Made it to wave 11! Really interesting idea, was really exciting to play (and anxiety inducing lol)

Developer(+1)

yeah lol, really tough not knowing where the enemies are. was definitely what i liked the most about this

Submitted(+1)

I agree! I also really enjoyed that haha

interesting idea

i think it would be cool if thee enemies had an indicator like the player. i died off screen once

nice concept!

I got to wave 6 :) Fun concept and cool minimalistic art!

Developer(+1)

thank you!

Great concept! Switching to dead bodies provides a stationary vantage point, which goes against the idea of viewing from the enemies' perspective, especially when they die near the player.

Endearing art style!

Developer(+1)

i found that dead bodies helped you know where you are a bit better, but i see how it makes the game easier. thanks for playing!

I liked the idea, however I think there needs to be some mechanic to help you get unstuck when you are offscreen.

Developer

i tried to come up with an idea of how to do that, but for now you're stuck being... stuck
