It's an interesting idea but there isn't clear enough of a distinction between the two modes to where each has its own time to be used optimally yet. If you continue this I'm wondering if leaning even further into the idea could produce some better results, like instead of just swapping the controls the game view changes more clearly and the way you interact with the world has greater changes. For example you might play two separate style games where the enemy positions affect both. That's just one way to take the game though. My highest score was 5840 and I had the most success with the mouse movement and fast shooting projectile
Thanks for the feedback! Hope you enjoyed playing ^^
Great start, congrats!
Thanks for playing!
Cool idea and I like how you linked the controls to the characters. I found it a bit hard to get used to the controls but I think that's the idea of the game.
Hehe glad you liked it!
Fun game! I liked having to switch between modes, it gave the game an interesting mechanic. Nice work!
Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it ^^
I love the idea of switching between two styles of playing. Great work overall.
Very interesting idea! simple but very effective, good job! Unfortunately for me the game crashes after every game over, I dont know if this is a specific issue related to me or if this is a common one, but for a game produced in such a short range of time these glitches are completely understandable, so good job!
Clever mechanics and cute graphics. Well done!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Cool Game concept, its abit hard from me to switch mentally the control scheme, I might need some more practice . All in all a really fun game with nice visuals and chill sound. Great Job.
Thanks for playing! Yeah the input switch is pretty mind bending ^^ Glad you enjoyed it!
The twist is very interesting, but I just felt like the keys to shoot mode was way better than the mouse to shoot mode. I also love the cardboard cuttout asthetics, congratulations!
Yeah, the mouse movement is easier to control -- we tried to make the mouse to shoot weapons stronger, but I'm guessing we'd need to introduce different enemy spawning behavior to incentivize mode switching (especially in the early game). Really appreciate the feedback!
Cool take on the theme! I found the art really well made and the gameplay offered good feedback! Great job
Thanks :D
Nice name play! Liked the contrast of weapons - would like in game instructions. Cool concept!
Thanks for the feedback - in game instructions def make sense to add. Glad you enjoyed the game!
Super interesting mechanic, both weapons have their upsides and downsides.
I'd include the main idea of the game within it and not just in the instruction below, but that's just a side note.
Was fun and challenging, not as easy as it looks! well done :)
In-game instructions definitely makes a ton of sense! Glad you liked it ^^
Interesting that the controls can be swapped, with mouse and keyboard changing responsibilities. I like space shooters, and this one's no exception. I could see myself playing it more if there's different enemy types added, upgrades made available... Great effort for the jam, I had fun playing it!
More enemy + weapon types would be great, thanks for the suggestions!
This was fun. At first, I didn't use the swapped controls at all, but ended up using them more and more as I got used to it. Great job!
Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it ^^
Really cool! The movement took a second to get familiar with, but I loved the change-up in controls, switch at the right time was satisfying, great stuff!
The weapon switching being also connected to switching your controls is great! i love how you also have to switch the way you think, so your brain's wiring is also integrated into the theme. good job!
Great observation :D Thanks for playing!
Great game. the music is really good, the game loop is simple and yet really fun. unfortunately I didn't realize you could switch controlls on my first playtrough, but maybe thats my own fault since I didn't read the discription. I did however get a score of 3770. also its a really nice touch that every time you play you get a different weapon for mouse and key.
great game. keep it up♥
Glad you liked the music ^^ And yep, pointing out the switching mechanic in-game is a great idea, thanks!
Wow!! I am in love with this concept! I didn't even know you could move via mouse lol It's absolutely brain-bending, love it
Awesome art style and music, the game play is really nice too, though I can't play again at the end. Good game overall.
Yeah, we weren't able to fix the play again button in time :( Glad you enjoyed the game though!
Nice idea! It’s a very interesting role reversal. Really liked the artwork and music as well.
