Love the moonwalking spikey enemy :D

Congrats on finishing your first game jam and first game! Amazing that you got so much done in so little time! I love that you gave variety to the stages and enemies! I also love the story-telling with the princess and the hero! Great job!

Intereting game, the cutscene is very nice, I really enjoy it.

Nice game! that intro cutscene was fun to watch lol, and I particularly enjoyed the level 1 music. It got harder though, having to go in all directions to find the keys, could easily get lost. But overall, quite enjoyable; I didn't manage to rescue the good man though, will have to get back to it sometime.

This was very similar to my first idea, I would also kill enemies by jumping but I decided that I wanted a top down this time. It was cool to see someone doing it this way!

the cutscene is really cute haha

Congratulations on submitting for the jam!  Really enjoyed the cutscene at the beginning, and the jump movement actually felt really solid.

For this being your first game ever and your first game jam this is super impressive! My first game using Gdevelop was for a game jam too and I didn't even finish it despite having more time than you. I couldn't even imagine adding cutscenes at the time but you pulled it off somehow. Good job!

I see that a few people already brought up my critiques, i.e. lacking a little game feel, inconsistent art between each sprite, and a floaty jump. I know that a game made in 48 hours isn't going to be perfect but I wanted to reiterate those points because I'd love to see you grow

Solid entry, especially for your first game jam! Also you're right we did kinda do a similar idea.

Congratulations on your first game! I liked the cutscene and it's very impressive what you managed to do in the time limit.

if you return to work on the game in the future, I would recommend giving responsiveness to the enemies when you jump on them (By playing sound and physics effect like jump) and perhaps mark in a certain way where the keys are in the stage.
keep creating, well done. :)

It was a really fun game. I loved the concept! I just wish that the princess moved a little faster, I think it would be more enjoyable if it was more fast paced.

Good use of assets! I do wish that jumping on enemies had a little feedback noise or animation.

This is genius! Simple idea, but really cool! I like this, dude

Good job on your first game :) I didn't encounter any bugs and it was a nice little platformer for me

it's kinda neat how we both had the general idea of a princess saving a hero lol

definitely impressive for your first game, kudos to you (heck, my first one didn't even work haha), but a few things to take note of would be the spritework, which is pretty inconsistent, some items appear to be larger yet have less pixels. also the jumping, since it feels pretty floaty personally, could've used a bit more gravity to it, but overall it was a pretty nice lil game, and the princess sprites are cute

nice job ^_^

Well done! Congratulations on your first game! 🎉

It’s really impressive that you managed to make something in a 48 hour jam without any prior experience!

The princess sprite was really cute!

I feel like you could improve the controls and make the level design a bit more consistent, but of course I do not expect highly polished results in 48 hours.

Nice job! 😊

Why is there so many people with the princess idea hahah? The game is ok but the art its different between sprites and its something you need to have in mind. But keep trying its ok!

A little bit simple, but cool

Good job for your first game. I hope you feel good at completing something for a 48 hr game jam. Hopefully you tackle more and find more enjoyment.

Controls unclear, possibly broken

Developer

Sorry about that mate! I listed the controls in the first level as text, perhaps it was hard to read.

If you're willing to try again, here are the controls:

Left/Right arrows to move

Space to jump

Jump on enemies to attack

R to reset back to the start

Tell me if there's anything I've missed, Thanks for playing!
